Reading the new “sex story” feature and the content irks me. I assume wrote by the nameless 36 year old, but equally poor grammar as is usual for the leopard so it’s fits with their style I suppose... The whole “older woman younger guy” thing is presented as desirable, yet there is so much research which references age gap relationships as problematic due to power imbalance etc. I don’t feel like it should be glamourised in the way it is in this article in so much that the mans youth appears to be his main desirable trait?! I’m aware this isn’t the case for everyone so please don’t come at me with the “my husband is this many years older than me and we’re amazing” Also if it was from the perspective of a man essentially saying “target younger women, they’re great” the audience would be up in arms!
Also the repetition of “fella” just made me wanna vom

I also had intended to provide that feedback on the article but turns out you can’t comment 😑
It’s a painful read isn’t it. I love the asterisk repeated throughout to show the name is a pseudonym- we get it babes, it’s pretty obvious!
Also, it’s a total rip off of the regular Cosmo feature. Literally 0 points for originality

Ugh... The Leopard is trying so hard to be a bit of everything- they really don’t have their own “voice” so just keep trying to keep up with whatever everyone else is doing or is currently popular. I know people can put out whatever content they want, but when you’ve gathered a following and audience for so long and you’ve never mentioned sex or anything like this before it’s just jarring. It would be like if Jilly Cooper started writing loads of science fiction books... I find it so cringe and unauthentic coming from Hannah.

Yeah I agree, since when has anyone (recently anyway) claimed a certain amount/position of sex is "normal"? the whole premise of that sounds super dated to me, like pre SATC. Also I hate the constant criticism that people make of missionary, if anything now (among the younger generation anyway) there is probably the concept (from p*rn etc) that it is very much not the norm and crazy uncomfortable positions are normal
I am genuinely scared for kids growing up now and what they’re learning from porn, but so long as all parties are consenting and happy then that is normal. Is 36 and 25 a big age gap? Aren’t they basically inferring 36 is over the hill?

I’m irritated by the whole thing. There is a medical reason I can’t have sex as often as I’d like to, my most recent dry spell while in a loving and happy relationship was 3 months. That’s my normal. I don’t need that weird humble braggy tit they’re putting out.

ETA sorry for my selfish whinge! I probably sound humble braggy to someone else. I just got really cross for a second 🤣

yeah, sorry my post was badly worded, really "normal" is not really a relevant word regarding anyone's sex lives.
Yeah I felt like that about the age thing too, if it was the other way round, i.e he was older it wouldn't even be mentioned, my bf is about 10 years older than me and it never felt at all like something anyone would comment on, the whole post had a sort of "toyboy vibe. Just really odd. I am tempted to write a fake story to submit to them to see how much I can make it sound like hannah's awful writing

I wasn’t meaning to criticise your post, I should think more before I type when I’m cross with Hannah 🥰
no i didn't feel criticised don't worry! I just re-read what I had said and wanted to re-phrase slightly!
OT but if anyone likes reading sex diaries (IMO) the ones on The Cut are the best (most awful) it is a week long sex diary and most of the people on it seem to either be having affairs or in really messed up relationships

They're so bleeping basic. It's like they trawl accounts they want to be like and copy their ideas. Once again the tone they've taken around the 'sex conversation' (which I'm not sure there needs to be, we're all adults, we know some people like different things and everyone has a different 'normal') is backwards and out of touch. They write like 15 year old girls who are trying to be edgy.

I couldn’t read past “cystitis” 😳 Where did this “sex stories” segment hail from? Seems a bit random and unnecessary. So much about the article and the way it’s written makes me uncomfortable.

Also “Gem” either has no personality of her own or is just a clone of Hannah - coffee, cheesy pasta and Tony’s chocolonely! Hard eye roll and sigh

And also the bloody devil emoji, duck sake if you’re trying to come from some sort of sex positive position, don’t use an emoji that insinuates what you’re talking about something naughty. It’s just sex

Maybe I’m getting too involved, but this whole direction is unauthentic
Oh my god, yes! The devil emoji really annoyed me and I was trying to work out why and you have nailed it!

This! I was actually interested to read something about people’s sex lives and how the pandemic had affected them (which is what I thought the feature would be) not some random throwaway article abojt a 36 year old having a ton of hotnsex written in a style thay can best be described as garbage chick lit. Maybe I’m salty because covid and lockdown abd associated stress has totally killed my own sex drive but actually even if I was “having 6 hour sessions” and getting a “ton of cystitis” I’d still find this article annoying AF.

yeah really.. also is having cystitis just a consequence of lots of sex ? I have never had it and I am mid 30s, surely this just means you need to wash more after sex/ women need to pee?

Think it varies woman to woman tbf. I definitely shower a lot and always toilet after sexual activity but in my younger days when I had sex marathons I dont have now 😂 I would often get cystitis if I had alot of sex in a short period of time.

Dont have to worry about that now 🥲

I had it 3 or 4 times in the first year of me and my boyfriend being together which probably tells you a lot. 😂 we were students who got boozy a lot too so I think I was also just permanently dehydrated which didn’t help.

Definitely not a cleanliness thing, I have a (medically diagnosed) small bladder and retroverted uterus so the risk of cystitis after sex is just something I have to live with... whether it’s once a month and once an hour 😝

thanks for everyone's comments about cystitis, OT but it annoys me that I (as a very much adult) woman had no idea about this, why are we not taught stuff like this in sex education?!

Because UK sex education is TERRIBLE and mostly just about how not to get pregnant, heaven forbid anyone might be having sex because it’s... shock horror, fun!

It’s very different in schools now as they’ve updated the secondary curriculum on sex and relationships

I went to catholic school and it was literally old men telling us that sex was for making babies and nothing else. We got told if we had pre marital sex we would get a disease and be infertile when we wanted to give our husbands children. If we got pregnant too young we would ruin our lives. Nothing about contraception or healthy relationships or not shaming us.

same, I went to a catholic all girls school until 16 and the first time we had ANY mention of sex education was at 16 and it was literally one class, and anyway by that point half of my year were already sexually active. It basically focussed on STDs/the age of consent and that was it as far as I remember, I don't even recall anything like cystitis being mentioned, and considering we were all girls nothing was even focussed on women either. abso;lteuly awful.
