So the latest insta story post about her skin has forced me to write something on here, even though I've tried to stay out of it.

The skin hurrahs are the fakest thing I've ever read. I have the same issue as Grace. I have acne scars on one side of my face and they won't go away. Look at all of her stories of recent - she puts her hand or phone over one side of her face because she's not happy with it. Now Grace's skin to me looks genuinely okay but that is because she isn't selling the whole truth about it, is she?

1) photos are strategically angled
2) filters all the time which I personally hate because of her young fandom - whatever body positivity tala and shreddy endorse, she destroys through falseness
3) so in july or june, not sure if anyone recalls, grace did this whole skincare routine with ren products. I'd never seen tattle at that point, so I bought a tit load of ren. It did. Nothing. So it frustrates me so much that she was "totally happy" with her skin then and has since had dermapen and facials because she was obviously lying for the aff links or whatever.
4) I (not related to Grace's actions!) started having dermaroller about ten days ago. Now seeing her advertise dermapen as the way forward while not even discussing the COST (I don't live in London and all of the lockdown money I've saved up is going on this...) or the risks is a joke. Also, she's still hiding half of her face so I doubt she really is happy with it. I know that probably sounds really awful but I just think it's all about the gifted reviews and not about her actual thoughts. The whole stinks of lies and it really hurts me as someone going through something similar that I actually fell for them and spent lots of money on Ren. Ugh.
If you want a community for a bit of help, "The Ordinary & Deciem Chat Room (The Fan Page)" on facebook is quite a handy skincare resource. Grace has used The Ordinary in the past but I think because they don't gift she won't promote them, but the page isn't just dedicated to that brand. I've learnt to never trust an influencer when they're working with a brand when it comes to skincare, half the time it's very obvious they've never even used the product (looking at you, Zanna).

Sorry but how can tala just sit there airing all the comments on that post of people saying that the factory is actually chinese 💀💀💀
They literally look so so guilty

This just happens farrrr tooo often. When they promoted Australia Day, there was another “woke” movement and they used the wrong flag, interchanging China and Hong Kong like I actually can’t keep up.

also the skin comments I fully agree- she always has her hand on her face even in the “showing you my skin” story she was very far from camera and hand covering half of it. Can’t deal with influencers like “yes I have had Thousands or pounds of treatment and prodcuts gifted, butmy reviews are COMPLETELY 100% honest babes and I would definitely recommend YOU spending YOUR money on it”—duck OFFF

i do think the whole Instagram and influencer career is on a bit of a time clock. I literally avoid brands that I see gifting these z list millionaires (especially fooood 😡). All so tacky
freebies- seen as trashy when poor, classy when rich 🤢

Yeah totally agree, if she were genuinely 'so happy' with her skin then you know she would be posting a close up full face no filtered selfie, just to prove that she has the BEST skin and her followers could only dream of being as blessed as her xoxo

Yeah and it used to be that she (and other influencers) were promoting products related to what their account is about e.g.: fitness influencers promoting gymshark, protein powder brands, etc. While now it's just anything. Why would I take advice from a random person on teeth straightening and expensive beauty treatments? from a person who is no expert on it at all? It used to be that people would follow grace for example and want to be like her, fit, living the fitness lifestyle. What does she represent now?

I’m 25. No desire to drive as no need in London. And if I did take my test and pass at my big age, I certainly wouldn’t expect cards! I probably wouldn’t even mention it. I bought a flat at 24and didn’t shout that from the rooftops either. Really sad that she craves and thrives off this validation. Okay you got a card... did you really need to share on the gram? Weird.
It would be like sharing every single birthday card you got on Instagram, you wouldn't do it because no one wants to see it???? So why would it be any different with a congrats on your driving test card🥴

She needs to employ people who actually know what they are doing and not girls that are her fans. If she employed someone who was really a specialist on sustainability (she did a degree in music not sustainability so she is not an expert by any means) they would morally not be able to stand by her greenwashing. If she employed actual marketing and PR people they would know to check every piece of writing that is featured on the clips so they couldn't get 'caught out'.

100% agree - it’s evident from their comms that they don’t have anyone on board who is well-versed in sustainability or environmentalism. Their page on sustainability on their website is a classic example of that - they’ve posted pictures of all their ecolabels without explaining what they actually mean, probably because they don’t know what they mean themselves. Obviously not everyone needs to be a sustainability expert in the company, but if they’re gonna make sustainability their selling point it’s crucial they have someone on board who can actually answer the nitty gritty questions about their practices.

interesting that TALA hasn’t posted since that factory clip from yesterday - they usually post multiple times a day.

Ps. Getting your car wrapped drops the car value instantly too Loool. Honestly she's so not sustainable and she's such a huge privileged tory it fucks me off when she tries to act 'woke'. duck off
*Retweeted by grace* “eat the rich, no one should have excessive wealth while children are starving!”
*Grace on her story” so guys I’m not getting the Bentley but I’m buying a Tesla and getting it wrapped, thoughts?”

Yes, but if she did that, she would have to pay them properly :sneaky:

Yeh the food giving thing drives me especially mad as so many people are now living off food banks, I would have respect if they also donated the products to food banks but this never seems to be the case. I am annoyed at Ren gifting her as it is one of my fav skincare brands, albeit I don't really think it is enough for people with problematic skin , acne etc

In the past week I’ve had 2 emails from Shreddy. I’ve never bought anything from them and I don’t know how they’ve got my email address. I assume I gave it to them at some point. I’ve just unsubscribed so will see if I get anything else (mainly posting so I don’t forget). If so, will be reporting them for GDPR breach.

Yeah I found it strange because I already didn’t like Grace by the time Shreddy came around, I’ve never wanted to buy her bands or any other products so I am really unsure how they got my email address. That being said, surely we must’ve given it to them at some point because how else could they get them? It is really weird?
