Ok I just listened to the whole thing. She's really deceitful.
- I remember all her "music and politics" work. She wrote stuff about race and music in the prison and stuff. While all of that was cool and interesting it was not politics. Idk if Oxford calls it that (if so that is still strange) but talking about the possibility of the appropriation of Amy Winehouse's voice is not academically or practically political. This comment actually sounds like something someone who knows nothing about politics would say.
- She did not write 10,000 words a week but she will probs rule that off as exaggeration.
- She didn't mention that she became an 'influencer' because Kayla Itsines featured her on her wall. While I'm not discrediting her ability to grow a large following, I think it's disingenuous to never accurately cite how you truly begin. We have all had our own help and support, I would never discredit mine.
- Like someone else said, her saying "oh I think it's not realistic to expect students to afford 100 pound leggings" is weird because she, not only wore lululemon, but wore a lot of other clothes that were really expensive. I remember when I would watch her summer / uni hauls or what i'm packing for this trip hauls I would be like what how can you afford all that? Like Champion, Levi's, Alo Yoga, AYM - they are also NOT cheap. She would also literally rent dresses that were expensive for Oxford balls, when my bf asked me to join an oxford ball I was like omg I'm literally gonna wear this forever21 dress (that was formal enough). Why does she make herself sound not well off financially all the time when she was?
- She also dodges referencing how much Gymshark helped her growing and all the opportunities she got with them. Again why does she dodge their name? We all know and there is nothing wrong with it. So weird. She is really focused on being self-made.
- She also called herself a fitness expert at one point, which honey no you weren't and aren't. Esp compared to the duration of how active you were. Many other people were way active for far longer than you.
