“In response, the British Aerosol Manufacturers' Association (BAMA) said deodorants have "very clear warnings. By law, aerosol deodorants must be printed with the warning "keep out of reach of children".
Warnings on the cans already 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think everyone since the early nineties know about the dangers of aerosols. Just another begfest

They were a huge thing for getting a cheap high when I was in school twenty years ago, didn't realize that awareness was needed....? My nephew is 16 and it's included in their health class alcohol and drug abuse prevention curriculum.

“Due to her sensory-seeking behaviour she liked to spray her blanket and wrap herself in the blanket.
She liked the smell of the deodorant and it made her feel relaxed and calm.”

It’s the parents that obviously didn’t have a clue about the dangers of aerosols. Can’t believe given she had additional needs they thoughts she was fine to do this unsupervised alone in her bedroom.

I’m sure nowadays it seems to be a standard response to losing a loved one to set up a go fund me page. If heaven forbid something happened to my son, I can’t imagine the first thing on my mind would be to set up a go fund me page. I’d be too distraught. Hopefully I will never be in that situation to understand, but I just don’t get it.

"Our neighbours bought our access lane and are now threatening to sue us for trespass and harassment to stop us farming and living in this way. Due to our low-impact, off-grid lifestyle we do not have the funds to pay for legal defence, and so we humbly ask for any amount you can donate that will go directly towards the legal costs involved in the process."

"This fight has also led us to realise that our neighbours are trying to turn the lanes into permissive rights of way, and therefore they can then remove that permission whenever they wish. But the lanes have been used to access Carningli Commons Land as far back as the 1840s, so we are going to apply for the historical right of way to be formally registered."

Well, do that. 🤨 Legal defence? They haven't even spoken to the council yet lol. They're asking for 10k.

Agree, they need to check if the land has actually been sold. Could easy be the neighbours winding them up.

I feel like it has just become the norm now to set up a page when you lose someone. I just don’t understand it. Get insurance or be as transparent as possible if you are going to set one up.
Interesting I found a charity trust in Scotland that’s been raising awareness since 2004 about solvent abuse , a family set up a charity in 2004 for their son and to warn other parents about solvent abuse

I am wondering about the sophiekitchx , they seem to be posting the go fund me link most days.
My heart breaks for their situation (baby has AML and they lost their first son the previous year I think it was)
But he seems to have responded well to the treatment with nhs. They keep moving the goalposts with the amount to raise too.
Current is £82,249 raised of £100,000 goal..
I was coming to this thread to see if anyone had spoken about them. I understand they were looking for support to be able to rent somewhere in London while they need to stay with him, but they are miles beyond what they would need for that. There's no transparency about what will happen with the cash when they are back home. And they plug it constantly, too.

Sophiekitchx has made her insta private now. Go fund me link is still in the bio though. What do they need this money for, coz accommodation doesn't cost £100,000? A sick child doesn't automatically entitle you to money off the public.

They recently had a stay at NYX hotel too where rooms start from £259 for a room only. They are going through a really difficult time, but treatment is working for their baby and he should be discharged soon. There will be lots of parents in a similar or worse situation who are not sleeping, barely eating and who wouldn't dream of having a luxury stay and going for a swim. And I speak from experience.

It's up to people who decide to donate, but it's the blatant spending spree and constant sharing of the go fund me.

My heart breaks for them, it really does. My little sister had leukemia treatment when she was born, too. But it’s absolutely unacceptable to use a tragedy for your own gain. It’s not like he’s likely to need adapted housing when he goes home.

This really bugs me when it's people with a sick kiddo in a country with universal healthcare. Sure, raise money to help with accommodation or travel or taking time off of work, absolutely. Even if they need private care! But standard treatment is provided at no cost, is it not?? Or very minimal?

I get it with Americans because it's very, very easy to go bankrupt very, very quickly even with insurance. I hate this fact, but my job is literally helping people find grants and extra coverage to pay for what their insurance doesn't cover, which is often >$3000 a month. Have y'all seen Breaking Bad? Most people don't resort to becoming a meth-making drug kingpin, but people dying because they can't pay their healthcare bills is very, very real. Not to mention that we get basically no paid leave and only like six or twelve weeks of family leave, often unpaid or at a fraction of your wage. So a GFM here, it sucks but I get it and it's one way for friends and family to come to someone's aid in a central fundraiser. When there's no social safety net, it is a somewhat necessary evil. But some of these people are literally getting rich off of tragedy and that's a little bit disgusting.

I think it's manipulative to call it HIS gfm link too. It's not the baby's gfm as he isn't getting any of the money!

it would be so different it they needed the money to get him treatment abroad, but they don't.... its all to fund their lifestyle while he is poorly in hospital 😔 God I couldn't even afford to stay one night in the hotels they have been staying in... what's wrong with a cheap travellodge seeing as I'm sure they aren't in the room that long away way...
