A lot of people are just fundamentally too decent and generous and a bit naive in some cases too. Not in a million years would I give a red cent to a GoFundMe. Every sort of chancer has one these days. Go on holiday without travel insurance, not a problem, set up a begging fund and you'll be transported home. Get yourself in trouble and imprisoned abroad, hey let's set up a fund for you.
There was one mentioned earlier in the thread, a very sad case of a little girl drowning. A GoFundMe was set up, I'm not entirely sure why. And then the mother was on instagram having got hair extensions or highlights or something because that's what the child would have wanted...
I am not being heartless, it was a huge tragedy, obviously. But it's unclear to me why there was a fund set up. It's possibly
somewhat understandable if it's a situation where say, the person who died was the breadwinner, and a family is left in debt or poor circumstances. Maybe.
