I don't know why everyone needs these huge funerals where it's like the Queen being laid to rest.
I find it tacky and when I die would be perfectly happy with something very small scale.

Local woman put up fundraiser for her mum who died suddenly in her early 50s. Following hot on the heels of granny dying. Wants £5k for the funeral because her mum loved horses so thinks she’d like a horse drawn funeral carriage

A few days later, her 4 year old cousin was sadly killed by a bus on hospital grounds when he was there visiting his gran. His mum put up a £15k gofundme within hours of his death. Which includes facetuned photos where she’s made him look like an avatar
The second gofundme has had a lot of publicity. And a lot of negative comments understandably. She‘s still made nearly £10k in a matter of days.

New to this thread after seeing Calum best has set up a just giving for his mams treatment for cancer. He’s got it at 40k. These ‘celebs’ are a joke

There was one on Facebook being shared a couple had gone on holiday to India. He had cancer so didn't take out insurance and he had a stroke whilst over there, he was put in an induced coma which was costing a lot daily, family set up a GFM to help pay for it, he sadly died so no doubt the money will be used aswell to get him home. I felt sorry for him and his family but going away without travel

Yeah right lol. So he left his kids,for half of the year,with a wife with multiple mental health conditions? Pull the other one ! I actually cannot believe people donate to things like this,unless they're fans ? So the wife will get full disability benefits for her,and yes,of course both children are autistic

No details on how the young girl died or how her siblings were injured yet. I’m going to presume they had travel insurance being responsible for 3 kids abroad. GFM looking for 10k

Yes,that's what the true intention of Go Fund Me was all about. It's just another sign of the times,it's been hijacked by untrustworthy grifters. Why do these things happen to good people,it's a real tragedy.

Can't we start caring about people who are desperately vulnerable and barely managing to survive h=through absolutely no fault of their own? Who have tried to do everything "right" but are in real poverty, are ill, are alone? Now that would be truly radical.

I don't know when people are going to wake up and realise yes it travel insurance can cost a lot but so can the consequences on yourself or your family if you need it and haven't got it!

Not 1 but 2 GFM’s for the same family. One for the son’s medical treatment and the other for family expenses. Wow

It's also pretty irresponsible to have 6 young kids and no life insurance.
It's mad to me that these clinics will do these procedures on people with no insurance???

My mum was quoted something like £2k for insurance when she had stage 4 cancer but they were also told repatriation could be 10 times that so they scaled back the holiday a bit to pay for the insurance. Ugh it just sounds like she is blaming the kitten for her mistake! Calling it crazy, it's a kitten. And if she wants to know what to tell her kids, maybe tell them she is an idiot cat murderer and teach her kids to be more responsible than herself
