Omg this unearthed a memory & sorry for the me rail but once ended up as a (now ex-) friend’s +1 for a society wedding, the whole thing was other worldly and beautiful, but friend was in an unhinged era post break up (hence me being the last minute +1) and had chosen to attend the wedding dressed “like this” and it was so uncomfortable as the (v chic) women/girls were obviously aghast and doing full body turns to gawp, it was just mortifying and even friend gained self awareness during so it just got progressively more depressing/unhinged throughout the day/evening. Apols for the over sharing but I’ve physically cringed remembering it, there’s no way Gizzi won’t have felt some of the same 🫣
