I don't think we ever saw how Kitty died so maybe they'll show that in the new series.

Am sad that Ghosts is ending but better to go out on a high, than to stretch it out with the quality getting worse.

Perhaps Alison and Mike will die in the last episode and they'll end up haunting the house as well

This just does get better....and there's absolutely no sense, by series 4, that it's anywhere near 'run its course'. There's so much more mileage and different storylines to pursue.

I am bereft, now that Mary has been 'sucked off'. I very rarely cry and anything on TV but the ceremony at the end put a big lump in my throat.

I've just seen this review in The Guardian which I think, for me, sums it up. I especially like this line .... 'Ghosts, thoughtful and kind to the end, has quietly said goodbye.'

I like all the ghosts so it's hard to pick a favourite

I thought Mike was much better in this series, his character was less annoying and he actually saved the day for once at the kids party.

I’ve been thinking about this a lot since I watched it: even before the baby, Mike & Alison were struggling to do justice to the house and restore it or make it a viable business.

By selling Button House to the hoteliers, they ensured that it was fully renovated and preserved, and it had a future, whereas if they’d stayed it would have fallen into greater disrepair and they’d eventually have had to move out anyway.

So the ghosts, Mike & Alison & baby, and the house all got to move onto a happy future.

How lovely that Kylie kept her word... I was massively disappointed it didn't happen last year so really happy to finally get to see it! Kylie's appearance was a million times better than the one she made in the last episode of neighbours, and lovely to see Jason too!

Up to series 4 on my rewatch, and Mary telling Pat about her typical day with her husband after he's tried to explain to her what a holiday is
It's such a skill to write something that can be so moving without being mawkish

On a lighter note, it's great rediscovering funny bits I'd forgotten about, like Pat saying 'it's knickers' when trying to say 'Snickers' which made me lol

Finally watched the Christmas special (feck has it only been 2 days since Christmas day, lost in the holiday twilight zone)
What a great episode, screw you motherland, this is what a comedy Christmas special is - joy, (poignant bits if you must) but laugh out/ bringing happiness moments because you're a comedy show/escapism festive special.

As sad as I am about this, I am a big fan of shows going out at their best rather than flogging it into mediocrity. Always leave the viewers wanting more.

I’m gutted there won’t be more but as you say it’s always better to go out on a high.
Excited to see what they do next, hopefully they keep working together, they’re such a great team!
