Yes it was a shame she left. Apparently Katy Wix is very busy on other projects.
There's only 2 females now. I wonder if we'll ever get a new ghost. I also want to know how Kitty died as that's never been explained.
I *think* she was poisoned by her (step/half?) sister.
It’s ringing a bell but at my age that means nothing - I could have just dreamt it! 😆

I really liked how they introduced a new ghost with that guy in the field. They could do something similar with someone who becomes a permanent character. Maybe not living in the house but someone they see regularly.
Which reminds me- what happened to the creepy little girl from series 1? I loved that scene with her singing ring a ring a roses 😅

The little girl will have grown so much that they would have to keep replacing the actress to keep it a child ghost

I have to say- Katy Wix exit led to an episode which is just one of my favourite pieces of TV… ever. The whole reflection on grief is just absolutely perfect and I can’t even discuss the episode without dissolving into tears, sounds OTT but I lost a friend 9 years ago and I was still very angry and bitter about his death, I found that episode genuinely healing.

Finally watched the Christmas special (feck has it only been 2 days since Christmas day, lost in the holiday twilight zone)
What a great episode, screw you motherland, this is what a comedy Christmas special is - joy, (poignant bits if you must) but laugh out/ bringing happiness moments because you're a comedy show/escapism festive special.

Currently watching the Christmas special for the third time. I previously thought this programme couldn't get any better but it has surpassed itself once again. Absolutely love it.
Missing Mary a bit I must admit. Was in tears at the end 😢

I loved Thomas's Christmas gift😁
Yeah showing my age🙈🤣
And not to objectify, but Ben🥰😍
Fantastic show👏👏👏
I couldn't think who Ben was at first. I googled Ben/Ghosts and it showed the Captain. If that’s who you are referring to then I hear you. I know what you mean and I love him too. But in my opinion they are all great 🥰😍😚

I'm not sure why it got me quite so much but the ending of that episode just had me full on sobbing. You know the sort of cry where you're completely taken by surprise and then end up with a headache? 🤣

Just been watching a couple of the US episodes on iPlayer ... absolutely dire! As others have said where is the subtlety? Everything in the plot is delivered like a sledgehammer! And the replacement characters are just awful! Including the two "livings"!

Anyone know how well it's gone down in the US? The Office US was similarly dire in the first season but massively improved after that.

Back to the UK series. I've always wondered, given they can't touch anything (well except for Julian's magic finger) and can walk through walls/doors. How come they don't just keep falling through the floorboards and how come they frequently sit on chairs :D. In fact in one of the Series 4 episodes I noticed Julian sit down on a sofa and his weight caused someone that was already on the sofa to sink down a touch as well ;). Plot hole 🤣🤣

This is one of those ghost things which just… is 😂 any ghost stuff you watch is the same, you’re required to suspend your disbelief

We only found out on the Christmas special that the Ghosts still get the urge to need the toilet but their “wee” is just dust! 😆

@kev1974 I know they've given it a second series and there was a xmas special this year, I think the general feeling among people who have seen both is that the UK one is much better
it annoyed me how they revealed how the ghosts died very quickly and that they seem to have much more money to do the place up/open the B&B with immediately.

I know Mathew Baynton has a cameo next series though, and the UK writers are involved in it generally

Don't they lampshade this in an episode? I think it's the one where Julian is trying to figure out ghost physics.

I might be misremembering but I think another ghost (possibly Thomas) mentions that none of them understand how they can sit down and that it doesn't really make sense.

I've been watching the second series on CBS and I quite enjoy it as long as I don't think of it in any way connected to UK ghosts🤣 what's annoying though is that sometimes it's not on for weeks at a time. The last episode I watched was aired on 16th December and it was probably only halfway through the series.

Yes, absolutely - Julian can't work out how he can walk through and yet somehow sit down in the same chair, and Thomas is just 'doesn't make sense, does it?'

Off topic but I didn't understand the 'lampshade' reference above, according to Google it means:
To intentionally call attention to the improbable, incongruent, or clichéd nature of an element or situation featured in a work of fiction within the work itself.

Blimey I never knew! But thank you for providing me with today's learning experience!
