@IllBredHen I completely understand where you're coming from! I also really like that they're a happy couple without kids.

I am a sucker for an epilogue or flash forward and like the idea of a 'next generation' being able to see the Ghosts, but that could easily be a child of one of Mike's sisters - inheriting the home from their aunt and uncle etc.

Yes exactly. Or even Kylie Minogue buying it if they sell. (If you watched the comic relief special )

I sort of hope they are all sucked off and get their final peace. Then Alison and Mike can sell it guilt free and live their best lives on the money

I think Ghosts might be my new favourite show - I laughed so hard I cried at the episode with the burglary. I think it's so cleverly written and acted, and I studied History at uni so this is very up my street.

I've started another rewatch and there's such a difference in how they portray Fanny in series 1 to later series - slightly different wig, less exaggerated mannerisms and facial expressions, different way of walking and looks younger. This isn't a criticism btw, but I guess they wanted to make her character a bit more exaggerated and older as the series went on

I miss Ghosts! Going to have to look on iplayer and re-watch (again!) from series 1. It only gets better with repeat viewings imo.

I was channel hopping the other week before going to bed and saw that it was on, only to discover it was the US version, all the subtlety totally ripped out of it and nowhere near as good

Jokes aside, I think there are many ways they could end it, will be interesting to see which route they go down. I’m thinking a baby for Alison and Mike and the baby can see the ghosts and it’s an open(ish) ending with most of the ghosts still there and maybe one/two leaving during the series.

Or instead of a mass sucking off, Alison and Mike die somehow and become ghosts themselves?

I think she must have left for good. I was half expecting her to come back but they made sure that they told her story before she went. I guess there's always the possibility that another person could die and become a ghost

I was reluctant to watch the final episode as I saw a lot of negative comments on social media but I liked the ending. I just wished the episode was longer as it all felt very rushed at the end.

My main bugbear with the episode was that it didn't make me laugh. The humour was lacking.
The plot (or lack of it) wouldn't have mattered if it was funny.

I don't know how true this is, but apparently when Simon Farnarby filmed the Paddington sketch with the Queen, someone overheard her quipping 'he's got trousers on today'. The Queen watched Ghosts, which is everything

Funnily enough the hubby and I were just talking about that sketch earlier tonight. When the Queen passed it was shown on some of the News channels. Hubby doesn't care much for the royals but liked it because Julian, his favourite character in Ghosts is in it. . HM had good taste.

Just watched the last episode of series 4. This programme keeps getting better and better. It is amazing how many storylines they manage to cram into 30 minutes.
I especially loved seeing more of Robin and his back story

Don't they lampshade this in an episode? I think it's the one where Julian is trying to figure out ghost physics.

I might be misremembering but I think another ghost (possibly Thomas) mentions that none of them understand how they can sit down and that it doesn't really make sense.

Yes, absolutely - Julian can't work out how he can walk through and yet somehow sit down in the same chair, and Thomas is just 'doesn't make sense, does it?'

He is a great character, my favourite too. I loved him in the episode where the archaeologists found the other caveman. .....and the episode when we got to see his back story.
