I think my final peaking moment was seeing an FGM survivor on twitter being repeatedly told that she can't use the word 'Female' because she wasn't cut because of her sex, she was cut because of her gender.

Same. It’s infuriating. Especially since they believe “trans women are women” so by that logic, surely they should absolutely care since women’s issues=trans issues from their point of view. The gay and lgbt allies I know haven’t even bothered to say anything to somehow make it about trans women. Just silence whilst numerous women around them speak up. Speaks volumes, imo. Especially when they claim to be so called feminists.

I think Caitlin Moran (who I can't stand) deleting her tweet about having a womb because she got stick for using the word womb 'you're excluding trans women who don't have a womb' was a low point. There was discussion on her thread about it but I stayed out of it because there's posters I like and interact with on other threads but it's depressing that a woman can't even talk about *her* experience without being scolded and without having to issue a grovelling apology
I saw this somewhere...an article or a YT video...and it pointed out that white Disney heroines are rarely sexualised but poc ones often are. I think some more recent Disney films are better on this (Princess & frog/ moana) but definitely tiger lily, pocahontas, jasmine, esmerelda all have a sexualness about them. I'm not saying Disney heroines ought not to have any sexuality/ sensuality to them but its ducked up that who is or isn't portrayed a certain way is based on historic racial tropes like that.

Read this thread, TRAs defacing the activist work to protest the violence women face especially in big cities in France, and they defaced it because it didn't include them. I've lived in anglophone countries and i'd wager the sexism/sexual assault/assault in france is perhaps worse/more brushed aside. This was in Paris which is for the most part the only place where TRA activism has had growth here.

yeah really, don't like her either, but this is absurd. Would trans people tweet including non trans women in their experience? doesn't seem like they do. It is also the aggressive "calling out" which I dislike, there are nice ways to correct people (if you want to) but it is all just so angry

So it was a video of a trans woman (probably no older than 25) talking about how she'd had a call from her GP surgery asking if she wanted to be put on the register for cervical screening. She (thankfully) asked them why they'd put her on the register when she doesn't have a cervix and they said it's because people get offended if they're not offered
Thank god she was in agreement that it was utterly ridiculous and taking away valuable resources from real women! What a waste of the NHS's time and money!
I'm going to try and find the video to share it here but honestly what a bleeping joke pandering to these people!

Was it Hibo Wardere? She is amazing. She shares her horrific experiences, wanting nothing more than to educate people about FGM. Her stories are painful to read.
