Jesus Christ. It's as if they're jealous and the true sign of being a woman is being a victim of assault/grape/murder. Why do they have to get involved in everything? A young woman has been killed. This isn't a trans issue.
I've walked the path Sarah walked a hundred times. I walk the streets of London alone every week. This has hit me so hard.

He started by saying Winston Churchill allowed the deaths of 3 million people but the public don't 'like facts'
5 mins in he just has to start wheeling out the trans tropes of how badly they're treated, there are no trans journalist blah blah blah but facts only suit him some of the time. It is fact that trans women are not biological women but he cherry picks which facts he accepts.
Moreover an hour before his whinge fest there was a very obvious trans journalist/activist on the same TV show bemoaning about trans rights...which flies in owen Joneses arguement that trans are forgotten about.
Fyi the trans activists was a sorry excuse for a bloke in a pair of dangling earrings (blokes voice, face, stature) ....yes cos that definitely makes you a woman.
And it wasn't even a trans discussion it was conversion therapy for gay kids...trans jumping on the band wagon again.
Anyway we all know what fetish excites Owen Jones, good for him but can he now please go away and be discreet about it. No one needs to know.

In light of what has happened to that poor woman Sarah Everard I’ve been thinking about how pepper spray is illegal in the uk and it’s got me salty because it feels like us women have very little options available when it comes to protecting ourselves. Is there actually a good reason as to why it’s illegal here?

Between this and the way TRAs have inserted themselves into what happened with Sarah Everard...this just feels hopeless atm. So draining.
Pepper spray isn’t legal in Australia either. I have a small Swiss Army knife on my key chain - normally use it to open parcels! But I do think sometimes it would be useful if I was in a dangerous situation. At school we did some self defense training in PE and there was a focus on things girls could to to be safer (only one ear phone in, tuck your pony tail in etc) which annoyed me because why not just tell the boys not to be creeps? But they did advise carrying your keys so one is poking out between your knuckles which I do now if I’m out late at night. It’s awful we even have to contemplate things like this 
The Sarah Everard case is really upsetting. I hear people saying how rare it is for something like that to happen, and maybe so, but I can remember a few women in recent years who have been murdered. There was Karen Buckley who was abducted and murdered in Glasgow only a few years ago (link). It really haunts you. I don't go out when it's dark and I'm even wary of taxis when I'm by myself. I'm not saying I want to go wander around parks in the middle of the night but jeez, being able to feel safe when I'm walking home from work during winter would be a start.
I'm so tired of the discussion that comes with it - and yes, that includes TW pushing their way into the conversation. This isn't about you. Same with some men, "oh it's shocking this has happened", yet it keeps happening?!

What was the reason for it being taken down? That's ridiculous. So they stop government funding and then prevent charitable donations. Makes me so angry.
It gets more and more ridiculous. I understand that some people like person-first language aka 'person living with diabetes' rather than 'diabetic' (personally I prefer using condition first language for myself but I think I'm in the minority) but for some medical terms it makes no sense - if something goes medically wrong do they refer to someone being in a 'person living with diabetes coma'?
More and more I'm pleased I graduated in the early 2010s - I don't think I could cope with being at Uni nowadays.
I’m sorry he laughs, that’s so insensitive. I have had similar conversations with my partner over popping to the shop in the dark. He didn’t necessarily laugh, but he didn’t get my point of view until I explained it to him. It’s just not something men really think about. I do go to the shop at night sometimes but most of the time he will go instead. I don’t think I would want to walk a dog at night though!
There is sometimes a homeless man who sits outside the supermarket I go to and I always feel a bit nervous walking past him (he sits by the doors). Whereas when my partner goes shopping he feels neutral towards him. One time he asked for the £1 out of my trolly and didn’t believe me when I said I was using a token, he might have genuinely been desperate but to a woman it can be very intimidating, I was scared for a moment and that was in broad day light in a busy car park.
They are. It stops them being the true victims.
Re pepper spray, some people in a dog owners facebook group I'm in have been discussing all the dog thefts and have suggested deep heat spray which is a great idea.
I've no doubt that it's only a matter of time before TRAs say something like "TERFs are using Sarah Everard to push their sex rights based agenda". I'd be amazed if they're not saying that already
Oh and it really annoys me seeing women like Ash Sarkar tweet about how hard it is for women but then people like her also scoff and sneer at women for being uncomfortable with male bodied people in our spaces.
I look forward to a day when these people look back in shame at the things they said about feminists
