Has anyone come across a crowdfund for Marion Millar? I'm keeping my eyes peeled, I imagine she'll have to stump up for a lawyer at some point. The whole thing is a joke.

From what I've heard there isn't any fundraiser yet - there is a petition that Linehan set up but they're saying to hold off on donations for now until she's set up with a lawyer (some of the Scottish women's groups are helping her find one) and then people can be sure the money will go to her.

Amazing thank you. Glad to see she has a lot of support behind her. I'm hoping this is a wake up call.

Just to follow up - it seems the adults are back in the room…

What was the original post and what was the original response to the tweet that has since been deleted?

Saw this on Twitter, is it true?!
Also I don’t really follow what Mermaids are up to for my own sanity but this seems to be what’s been happening recently.

Jeffrey Marsh gives off serious serial killer vibes
Someone said he’s constantly seething with rage. So accurate.

I’m really hoping Joanna Cherry fully gets behind her too. I can’t bear the SNP but she’s a great ally for women.

Almost exactly what I was going to say!

What DOES "wheesht" mean? I can't find search results in any context other than reporting that she said it
Scottish for be quiet, pipe down. If someone is talking crap I’ll say “aw just wheesht“ 😂🤫

What the actual...?!

Suggesting that schools fail Ofsted inspections because primary age children don’t know all of the protected characteristics in the Equality Act?!
I doubt many adults can let alone primary children who can barely write their own name! If my kids school choose to teach this instead of basic education I would pull them out immediately. Stonewall seem determined to screw up everything else provided the it view of trans rights are upheld in ever situation at the detriment of the majority of the population.

I’m so baffled how Stonewall have become so singularly focused on trans action and absolutely nothing else.

Why would this be more important than primary age children learning to read, write, play safely and happily? I’d rather that teachers/adults be taught how to recognise children who are being abused and to teach children boundaries about unwanted hugs etc etc than having them learn about the Equality Act! They say it’s about safeguarding children and it bloody isn’t.

I do think that kids need to learn about things but the most basic level of 'some people have a mummy and a daddy, some people have two mummies or two daddies, some people have one...' and so on is fine - that would have been enough to make a massive difference to me when I was a kid and it's kept at a level that is appropriate for children.

Of course, but surely that’s the roles of parents/society not solely the school.

True, but there are still a lot of homophobic parents around who won't tell their kids. I'm not saying the school should make a big song and dance over it (and I personally don't think they should, because that might make people feel even more othered), just mention it once when they're doing a lesson about different types of families.

It is less of a problem now that than when I was growing up in the 90s as it a) isn't as taboo a subject and b) the internet and more diverse books exist so kids can figure it out themselves if needs be.

Yeah, a lot of arguments against teaching same sex relationships is 'let them be children, they don't need it rammed down their throats'. It's not like you're showing blokes sucking off each other in a massive orgy or lesbians fisting each other, just that sometimes men love men and women love women. It's their own bleeping perversion and issues making something out of it.

exactly it's as simple as just having characters in books representing different relationships, you can normalize it very easily without much effort
