I have contacted RA about their selling Eric Gill, who is well known for documenting the grape of his daughters, other family members and his pets. Rapists are ok, gender critics are banned. Weird. Will anything happen? No. They'll just insist we separate the art from the artist. Either we do that for everyone, or non at all.
Dear lord, that’s horrendous!

There were two female Academicians when the RA was established in 1768 - Mary Moser and Angelica Kaufman. Both were terribly talented but weren’t allowed to attend meetings and dinners despite full membership because of their sex 🙄. The RA didn’t again accept a female Academician until 1936. A few women were able to show in the Exhibition over the years, and a few became associate members - but none full Academicians until Laura Knight in ‘36. She was the first female artist to have a solo retrospective in the 60s. After 30 years of membership she first got an invite to one of the male only dinners in ‘67.

The RA elected its first female President in 2019.

RA blog post
A good Art UK article

In other words - the RA, undermining and underestimating women and their art since 1768!

I don’t understand why she’s had Botox. It’s not like she has ever been a great beauty at all.
I think she’s a complete coward and will probably try to crash in one day and steal some glory.
The only thing I can think of in her defence is that her kids are probably very woke and might have had some influence in why she has been so silent

It has been a long time since I've seen an article this infuriating...

To summarise...

David Paisley is a hero
As community heroes and Attitude Pride Award recipients go, they don’t often come bolder and better than David Paisley, whose tireless campaigning against the trans-exclusionary agenda of the LGB Alliance has put him in the firing line of powerful and hostile forces.
As Pride Award recipients go, David Paisley is a worthy hero.
The LGB Alliance has done nothing to support any LGB people
The LGBA exists only to harm transpeople
The LGBA is funded by right-wing Christian extremists in American
The LGBA are evil because they've campaigned against the Scottish Hate Crime Bill
This is old-school 90s Homophobia against transpeople
Most LGBTQ+ people consider the LGBA a 'hate group' (probably true, but do most of the LGB people?)
The LGB Alliance is incredibly well funded (huh, did they get millions of tax payer's pounds like Stonewall did?
Liz Truss is 'threatening' Stonewall by trying to cut funding
DP is an ally for women's rights

He’s acutely aware that it’s also important to be the right kind of ally: “It’s vital that people who have a platform speak out in support of others. But never speak over. I think that’s another important thing, if you’re an ally to sections of the community, it’s really important to uplift other people, provide a platform for them to speak, share their experiences.

"I’m a white, cis gay man — they hold a lot of privilege in the gay community. They’re often listened to a lot more than other members of the community: women, ethnic minorities, trans people, nonbinary people. The focus should be on the less-often-heard members of the community.”

DP was violently attacked by a ribbon

David's public campaigning has led to him receiving torrents of online abuse that have left with severe anxiety, which worsened when someone sent him death threats.

“It had a really difficult impact on my mental health and wellbeing. I’ve also experienced harassment at my workplace. I had panic attacks. I couldn’t leave the house. I didn’t want to go back to work. I had to get help from the local mental health team, and try and get support.”
DP has the bleeping nerve to talk about being from a historically oppressed group while trying, non-stop, to remove women's rights.

He continues, “When you come from a minority community that is historically oppressed, online abuse has a real impact on your wellbeing, your sense of safety, your sense of acceptance within society. I got to a point where I felt unsafe going outside. I felt unsafe being myself, being an out, open, gay man. It brought back a lot of experiences from my youth, and I had to reach out and get proper mental health support.”

Yeah I've no issue with her or anyone having botox, if that's what makes her happy, go for it. What I didn't like was her trying to frame getting botox as an empowering feminist thing, all because she wanted to get it and wanted to put a feminist spin on it. Feminism has nothing to do with bikini waxes or botox or any of the rit she spouts

Sweet Jesus how long before the tras think this is a good idea for people

That is horrific. Frankenscience indeed. The truly horrid things some people put animals through is beyond me. They did this just because they could. I’m sure it will get twisted some way as you say.

If only there was a natural, biological way to reproduce.

Oh wait.

I wish Chinese scientists would take the next 20 years off. I know it has not been proved where covid came from yet, but evidence is looking towards a major mistake from one of their labs.

Interesting also to compare the JKR/CNA essays to the garbage Ayesha Hazarika has just published…like comparing Shakespeare to a Teletubbies script 🙄

The part about TiMs being not only welcomed but 'cherished' in a facebook group for menopausal women made me want to die of cringe. The idea of women going through an upheaval like that and fawning over male interlopers who have no business being on that group in the first place

I wish I knew what possesses some women. They know these TW are male. They know they don’t have a uterus. So why accept them in to indulge their fetish and roll out the usual embarrassing platitudes about how great they are at accessorising and what lovely legs they have?

Oh duck off, which one so I can avoid, it's just gaslighting. There is no reaon why a TiM needs to be in a menopausal group.

I think it was called Hot Girls.

Here is a quote from the article. Infuriating

I’m part of a wonderful Facebook group of older women celebrating confidence in our “hot girl years”, AKA the menopause. Trans women are not only welcome, they are cherished — we have all learned from their stories and world class ability to accessorise.

World class ability to accessorise? Billions of women know how to dress and present themselves, funnily enough. Is this what we've been reduced to?!

It is Jess De Whals. I am so angry about this.

It has taken YEARS for the RAA to accept embroidery as an art not "craft" and Jess' pieces are absolutely stunning. And now due to a bitter rival (wimperisembroidery) who is so woke it hurts, Jess' work will now longer be sold by the RAA.
Andrews Neil and Doyle are talking about this on GB news now

Just seen this on Twitter.

I mean…

I find this so upsetting. I'm on a facebook page for menopausal women and no matter the colour of our skin, our 1st language or our religion or lack of we are all united by the struggles we endure with our reproductive organs and our bloody hormones, something a trans woman will never experience nor have any real insight into no matter how much the deluded TiMs claim they do

Has anyone else seen the Rachel Dozel (sp?) docu on Netflix. There’s always been chatter around the idea of being “transracial” and how offensive that is because a white person cannot experience the prejudices a black person does & they’ve also benefitted from socialisation or accruing social capital whilst white, and they also maintain the privilege of being able to present as white as/when needed. I’m surprised this hasn’t drawn more parallels with gender? And I feel society as a whole draws a like at transracial but gender is seen as entirely different? Genuinely would like to know why - like what would someone say I’m missing?
