The BMA is doubling down

View attachment 3535296
But they forgot to turn the comments off...

Apparently this happened after Tavistock collapsed too and they were forced to about turn after members protested. Some accounts claim very few BMA members actually voted on this and it may not represent the membership. I cannot believe they're doctors using the term "intersex". This kind of rit really makes me worry about getting medical care, if doctors en masse really are placing lying ideology above biological reality and patient safety. What will happen to the NHS if it can be proven that it's doing this? What will there then be moves and votes for?

What exactly is causing this? I've never seen so many people so determined to protect such bull.

I’ve got a fantastic male gynaecologist and also had a breast ultrasound done by a male doctor, but I definitely wouldn’t feel right going to a male nurse for a smear or a mammogram.
I had a male gynaecologist, obstetrician and a sonographer (all chaperoned, obviously) and they were all brilliant, but I would also draw the line at mammograms - too much "manhandling" if you'll pardon the expression. I hadn't given a thought to smears, but I agree with you there, too. My daughter has a lot of trouble when it comes to smear tests (she has slightly unusual anatomy) and I'm not sure that a male would have the awareness of how very uncomfortable it can be, and make allowances where necessary.

I remember a couple of years back, some bloke with pronouns complained that he wasn’t allowed into the mammogram bus because he was male and he wanted to support his friend. No one takes a mate to a mammogram ffs.

And again, any man who wants to be in there in any capacity is exactly the sort of man who seeks out women’s toilets to tit in and women's changing rooms to leer in. He is a porn fueled p who gets a sexual thrill from crossing women’s boundaries. There‘s not much difference between them and the blokes who have porta potty parties in the Middle East. Women hating men who want to destroy, humiliate and abuse us

Have we had clarification yet on how they're going to deal with people who fraudulently changed their legal documents (ID, passport and birth certificate) yet? Now that we have the clarification from the supreme court of what a woman is, I'm slightly worried about those who've changed those documents. Despite the fact you can tell a TIM from a woman, how will female only places deal with the issue if it states on their new birth certificate that the TIM was apparently born female? I'm hoping there's a simple answer, or that the updated birth certificate has the old sex on too.

This thought came in my head after remembering someone I previously had as a friend who transed their eldest son and then when he was 9 they changed his birth certificate and passport. This is after transing the son at 4, who had 2 younger male siblings. They kept moving and last I know lived in Scotland. Her, her husband and the 3 boys.

(ETA spelling transing as trancing, quite suited really.)

I've just been tinking about this "mammogram" carry on, and it reminded me of a friend I had whose husband was (literally) insanely jealous.

She couldn't mentioned another man's name because he accused her of having an affair with them (So no "Jack at work was telling me about the new HR regs" sort of conversation). If she met someone from work outside, and they said "hello" so her - she was having an affair with them (whether she responded or not, made no difference). She couldn't go for a drink with the rest of us because she was going to "pick up men". She couldn't have a male doctor because he would see her body. If she even exchanged a pleasantry with a delivery man eg "Thank you" - it was because she"fancied them."

She had no life for years, until she walked out one day. I can't imagine what he would have been like if a bloke had been squeezing her breasts into a mmagram machine.

And the world is full of men like this.

I actually have no problem with a man performing a medical procedure on me as long as he's professional and treats me with dignity but I respect others feeling they'd rather have a woman. I would feel uncomfortable with a trans woman performing one though and I think that's because I'd feel a bit threatened by someone in essentially what is a disguise treating me. It feels unsafe somehow. And yes, I'd feel the same about someone in a birqa or niqab for example. It's not about them being Muslim, not at all, it's the element of feeling like I don't know who they are and I'm about to have an intimate procedure performed by them.

In terms of people asking why men would go into such fields it is worth pointing out that whilst training, some medical professionals are required to practice across various disciplines so I don't think you can assume it's dodgy.

I wonder if the nhs are going to redact this slide from their E&D training?! Wondering if it’s worth contacting someone to check but I’m not great with formal letters. I posted this a few months ago when I couldn’t actually believe they had this policy! Would you want him next to you while you’re in the loo having a wee or changing your tampon 😩

I agree with this comment - doctors need to experience a range of specialist areas - and I can see how many of both sexes could be attracted to obstetrics/gynae, just because they find it such a fascinating area to study. (Personally, I couldn't work with feet or bums, but that's just me.)

Some Men choose to go into Women's health because they have seen the way Female members of their family are treated by the Medical profession. There are a lot of reasonably intimate procedures that I'm happy for Men to do, a Man inserted my 1st coil, apparently he was the best around, he also did my Sisters as she hadn't given birth so, at that time, very few Drs were willing to carry the procedure out. I have to say though that a mammogram oddly is something I definitely want a Woman doing. It would be way too easy for a Man to get pleasure out of manipulating our breasts, I find it way more intimate that someone prodding around my cervix tbh.
The NHS really need to consider peoples comfort when screening. You really don't want to be doing something that means people will self exclude.
OT but I got my bowel screening kit a few months ago. Now I do clinical trials and one of these included bowel screening, I actually had 3 during the trial and their screening kit included the paper that you slip over the toilet seat and poop on, very easy to use, the NHS one wants you to tit in a container which is not that easy, will put a lot of people off and will also result in a lot of tupperware containers being binned.
It's such a simple thing to include at little extra cost and I'm absolutely certain it would lead to more people returning the test.

Ive had a male doctor do an IUD fitting as he was a specialist and I’ve also got an u cooperative cervix (I real one I grew myself), absolutely fine. It’s all a bit clinical with a speculum involved. When did I feel u comfortable? When I had a male doctor checking me for a breast lump. Even though it was chaperoned, even though he said nothing was wrong and he couldn’t find anything weird. It made me feel v vulnerable with my top off and a man’s hands feeling me like that. So a mammogram, absolutely not.

also TIMs are more sus than regular men, we know how many are displaying a fetish in public and transgressing women’s boundaries

I just had a look and you can do a degree apprenticeship in Radiography. Surely encouraging more Women to take this route would be a better option than hiring Men?

It’s been a WEEK.
I haven’t been around much - I feel like I’ve a lot of catching up to do on this thread which I’ll do later. For now; I thought I’d share a thread I just made which some of you may be interested in sharing views on - you all seem like reasonable minded people!
i think this is the first thread I’ve made and I’ve just put some tags on it. Here’s a shameless plug:

If anyone wants to make their feelings known to the BBC about the institution going forward, they are currently carrying out a consultation to get viewers’ opinions. It’s mainly a tick-the-box exercise, but at the bottom, there is a free-text box where you can state your opinions. I stated mine and it felt very cathartic.

My breast ultrasound last year was done by a male, well actually the female doctor did it first as she was training and he then did a double check. I had numerous other females in the room too. Honestly it was party time.

This year everyone was female.

I saw this mentioned on Mumsnet yesterday, but I got the Disability Rights ebulletin today and the link to this news piece was included.

Absolutely no mention of disabled people having a right to same sex care it is all about the poor trans person and biology is oh so complicated. There is, of no suprise, a link to a blog by a trans disabled member of staff. I'm guessing with this gem it is a TiM.

The impact of transphobic violence is also disabling – being permanently paralysed, losing sight or having bones broken are all real-life consequences of violent street attacks on Trans people. Just like how many toilets throughout the country are not accessible for Disabled people, Trans people are developing debilitating conditions and bladder problems from being unable to use public bathrooms for fear of harassment.

Your bladder problems are generally of your own making though. Even without any surgery, cross sex hormones will do untold damage to the body.

It'll be the middle class lot. Brought up by mummy and daddy with ideologies then off to school for the same and then uni to finish off the job. They are thoroughly brain washed.

No thought for all of the women and girls developing debilitating conditions and bladder problems because they are unable to use public bathrooms for fear of harassment, assault, grape or even murder.
