One good thing has occurred from Trump becoming President once again.

The end to woke madness, and multiple genders being recognised by Government.

With any luck, this will filter through here.

You can identify as whatever you want, I really don't care. I just don't want to feel the long arm of the law for innocently getting your batshit gender pronoun wrong, or lazily (and wrongly) being labeled a 'bigot' for doing so.

Hopefully, we will start to see Women's spaces becoming women only once again, and the end to Trans males competing in women's sports.

As a gay male, I've never agreed with any of this crap. So please don't think that all gay/les people are pro this utterly batshit gender nonsense. I strongly agree that women are entitled to their rights as much as anyone else.

I’m always baffled by the assumption that all gay/les people are on the side of those harping on about what they identify as! Most my gay mates join me in an eye roll.

Well, I’m on my way back from my evening out which I mentioned in the other gender thread in the 8.cafe parallel universe. Was meeting up with a group of friends including an acquaintance I haven’t seen for 15 years (and who I don’t keep in touch with - just hear about from mutuals). I knew she had a TIM child in his 20s who refers to himself as a les and was not looking forward to the conversation. Anyway all went well, until she mentioned ‘Sophie and her girlfriend’ were doing xyz. Like she did even blink. I just thought, how can you do that? Erase your son who didn’t decide on this ‘female’ identity until after he was 20. I wasn’t going to be complicit in the lie so I justlooked blank and said nothing. She is a nice person, but she has always bent over backwards to indulge the son’s every whim.
BIB: And isn't this a massive part of the problem? Over-indulgent, misguided or even just lazy parents, who simply never tell their children "no". We see this with the current fad for "gentle" parenting, where kids run riot in public places, where they can't use a toilet or cutlery by the time they start school, and where they're indulged at all times, no matter how outrageous their demands.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I know that as a teenager, I was a complete monster. I would argue with my mum about everything, just for the sake of an argument. If I thought that dressing up in a man's shirt and calling myself Colin would have made my mum mad, you better believe that I would have done it. (Although she would definitely have intervened if she thought I was planning a double masectomy). A lot of parents have also been duped by the "Trans kid or dead kid" emotional blackmail, and are too scared to challenge their offspring about their gender issues.

Out of interest, I wonder if Sophie's "girlfriend" is an actual female? Which would make "Sophie" a straight AGP. Or, if the girlfriend is also trans, that would make "Sophie" a gay man? Not gonna lie, it makes my head spin! 🥴

‘Sophie’ is a straight male who has had several female (can’t believe I have to even specify that 🤪) girlfriends going back to his school days.

'kin 'ell I was confused yesterday morning and now I'm confused this morning. I am old and tired and can't be doing with this.
I was so pleased at all your shiny little faces getting excited by colours and now it has been cruelly snatched away. Back to monochrome terfing, bigots.

Were people complaining then? It was a bit clunky but it got sorted out pretty quickly. Oh well.

What a palaver! First I thought the site been taken down like with Tiktok, still it's nice to be back.

I've been on the thread Neil Gaiman (😮) and there was commenting that men claiming they are a feminist is red flag. Some one posted that they were waiting for David Tennant's downfall!
I used to find him quite attractive back in the day and think he was good actor but he just gives him the creeps now. I started getting a weird feeling about him when he got together with his wife, as there seemed something odd about it. He just comes across as so angry now, like someone you'd cross the street to avoid.

it was the name people mostly complaining about. Some formatting issues but they would have been resolved. I didn’t like the name but I liked the new site. I dont think people realised going back to tattle life name meant returning to the old site.

This. i don’t want to derail the thread by going too deeply into teenage behaviour in general nowadays, but I do think it is, in part the same issue. We have a generation who cannot be told “No” cannot take any criticism because it’s seen as “bullying” and have to be pandered to. By the way, I hate real bullying but being told “no” or having valid criticism isn’t bullying. We’re now at a stage, especially where I am of gangs of youths going around intimidating damaging property and generally running riot and nothing can be done about it. Even the police are limited in their response due to their age (this is in Scotland).
Rebelling back in my day would have been listening to a certain type of music and dressing outrageously and everyone would know it was a passing phase. Now, it’s more likely to claim some weird gender and pronouns to match and yet it’s taken seriously, must be respected and treated with hormones, surgery and is considered “for life” rather than just a phase.

I don't even watch this programme, (DWTS Ireland) but give me strength. 🙄
I'm glad he was eliminated.

Is there a term for transwomen who argue for women's rights and call out the bull? I've seen a few on TT now that acknowledge biologically they are men and can never truly be women and champion for women only spaces etc whilst still presenting as women.

He could’ve emulated the classic Buck’s Fizz routine where they whip off the skirts. With a modern twist to reveal the old meat n 2 veg underneath. I’m glad we’ve been spared seeing that 😅
Well indeed! I only saw the article by chance and my eyes rolled hard. And as I said, I don't even watch the programme!

But presumably Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner uses the ladies loos and changing rooms now, so he's only standing up for part of our rights?!
