I’m convinced the rate of trans kids amongst celebs is disproportionately high. I’d love to see some stats on this.
I was thinking the same. I wonder if it’s due to their parents steering them towards it in order to publicise how ‘cool’ and ‘progressive’ they are, or a case of it being hard to stand out in a family where one or both of your parents is mega famous? I suspect maybe a bit of both.

We should start a sweepstake on how many of these celebs & their ‘fashionably trans’ kids quietly forget about within a year or two, and hope that everyone else forgets too.

Still, it’s a handy indicator of which celebs are thicker than a castle wall.

Baby Spice would appear to have the new celebrity accessory, a trans identifying son. 🙄 Makes sense someone whose career was so defined by being pink and girly would assume that liking that makes you a girl. /s

No such thing as a trans kid, Emma.

After seeing photos of Emma’s son in the last few years, I was hoping that she was just going to ignore all the trans stuff and keep referring to him as a boy, even though he wasn’t dressed in usual boy attire, and just embrace him as a child who didn’t conform to gender stereotypes. But no, not special enough. My 15 year old son has always had pink / purple glitter balloons, as many pink clothes as he could get his hands on and pink hair in the holidays. But he’s never thought of himself as female. In primary school, he used to put his jumper over his head so the arms hung down at the back and said, “I can be a girl now.” I just laughed and commented he could never be a girl and he laughed too and saw it for the joke it was.

Meanwhile, Georgia Tennant makes a point of posting a photo of a ‘birthday person’ badge. (Incidentally, who addresses a birthday card to their child with their surname on it? All staged for Insta and to remind everyone that she has born the progeny of David Tennant.)

Never posted on here but been lurking!
I work with children and young people, who are vulnerable in some way. Some have been through unthinkable trauma (it’s heartbreaking). We have a high proportion of young people with different pronouns and gender identities.
In each young person who has changed their pronouns etc they have been through extreme neglect, SA or trauma (loss of a parent etc).
I have come to the conclusion that the kids who are insisting on being they/thems etc are doing it because they have lost all control in their lives and this is a way of them regaining that…

I imagine this is the same with baby spices child… it’s not a normal upbringing and they will have been exposed to things most kids aren’t; most likely.

it’s all deeply worrying and an absolute nightmare as a professional working with these people to navigate!!! I’d absolutely love to sit with the children and their parents and try to instill some logic but would most likely get sacked!

I was thinking childhood trauma / emotional neglect. Childhood emotional neglect can be quite invisible if there is no big event to identify trauma, but I imagine being the child of someone famous impacts them emotionally no matter how physically well cared for they are.

Running on Empty by Jonice Webb is a good introduction into childhood emotional neglect for anyone interested in the topic. I can think many of the problematic parenting styles associated with emotional neglect would be common in the celebrity world. Especially given so many celebs are incredibly narcissistic!!

Wow, that was a powerful and heart wrenching article. I hope this woman can reconnect with her daughter, it's just awful how this situation is tearing families apart.

Angela Rayer “to use transgender women as some sort of political football to abuse and debase is absolutely appalling…fear isn’t justified…transgender women’s rights are women’s rights”. Seriously? Where has she been the last few years? How could she say the fears of biological women aren’t justified?

Oh she's a bleep, and I'm not sorry for saying so.

Just when you think it might be safe to vote Labour, there’s Angela Rayner reminding me to think twice

Ugh, I've just looked at her Instagram and I honestly feel sick. What a terrible thing to do to her child. He's only 11, and there's a picture of him with long blond hair and lipstick (I think). How is there any way for him ever to change his mind about this?

Aww duck off mate, seriously.
I’m guessing he channels his “inner woman” 🤢💩 when he’s feeling himself up while looking in a mirror, and sticks to being a man when he’s job hunting, negotiating his pay and barging his way to the front of the queue for the toilets. Wanker.

I feel you're a disgusting, porn addled AGP man who thinks it's fine to push yourself on women.
I wish you nothing but unhappiness.
