Why would anyone need to be depicted in fetish gear in a kids book? I’m sure an equal number of straight people are into BDSM, yet you wouldn’t see a straight couple dressed like that in a book aimed at children. It’s portraying gay people in a certain why. Why can’t everyone just be drawn in everyday clothes? Same sex relationships can easily be demonstrated by partners drawn holding hands or hugging / kissing.

The AGPs are the “transbians”. They’re straight men with a fetish that started with porn addiction. They think women are a collection of porn stereotypes. You’ll usually find their dress sense matches the kind of porn that was popular when they were growing up.
Just seen on Reddit

Twisted Logic.jpg

So let's figure this out. First we have a straight couple. The man decides to indulge in his AGP fetish, and starts dressing as a woman (plus goodness knows what else). By his logic, he is now a woman. As he's still attracted to females, that makes him a trans lesbian / transbian.

His female partner has presumably stayed with him. As he's now changed into a woman, she must be a lesbian.

So this straight couple is celebrating their first pride month as lesbians. And reading the rest of the thread they're not the only ones.

It's making a complete mockery of lesbians and the struggle that all gay people had to achieve equality.

Please, can we return to the days when sexual fetishes (especially AGP) were kept away from the general public instead of being forced on to us without our consent.

Agreed on both counts! Really angry that the word 'genocide' is being used so liberally, and that the BC decision only applies to elite competition. I'm hoping though that this will trickle down - I think the first decision is always the hardest and now that they've on some level acknowledged that TWAM, it will lead to a change in all related policies.
They love a bit of hyperbole, meanwhile words like Nazi, Fascist, Genocide have their meaning diluted which, quite frankly, is a fucking crime IMO. It needs calling out.
ETA If I get called a bigot now I just shrug my shoulders because it's meaningless,, calling someone racist is going the same way because people chuck these words around so cheaply.

Grown man cries because he can't steal wins from women anymore. Fuck off Emily you cunt.
I'm still concerned with the new rules though, I know it isn't cycling but Caster Semenya was assigned female at birth so there does need to be more nuance but not in the way 'Emily' wants

It’s a special kind of narcissism to decide that changing the awards will mean that you can compete equally with men, when the reason there are gendered awards is to ensure the women win something in those areas. Bella Ramsay is not that special.

Not exactly on topic, but...

There was an interview on the Jeremy Vine Radio show a couple of days ago, about a nudist pair who had been in a pub for a meal stark naked, and it seemed to be part of a wider movement to encourage nudity to be more 'normal' or mainstream. The drift of the interview was acceptance and what on earth was the issue for those who were complaining!

I was thinking.... well, in theory I dont have an issue with anyone being nude and walking down the street, I assume it might be a bit cold...but....

I do have an issue with someone who is nude, sitting and eating in a restaurant. I wouldnt want to necessarily sit in a chair after someone has been sitting there with a bare bum. I wouldnt want to be eating next to someone who is naked who has just come out of the toilet. How sanitary is this? Abd where on earth do you carry your phone, your keys, your money etc?

Schools werent allowed to use toilet paper for years for junk modelling...just in case it was contaminated!! Why should we be accepting of nudity in a restaurant?

Beaches have rules for people to cover up their swimsuits in town....this seems a similar kind of thing. Enjoy being nude in private, cover up in public!
My town have a nudist who rides around on a bike. He loves making people feel uncomfortable and will take pictures of those who are clearly not comfortable with it in public and posts them online. He’s naked around the house when his children’s friends come over and is a generally unpleasant human. He bought something off Facebook marketplace and turned up to the sellers house naked too.

I think Its similar to AGP’s and he’s forcing his kink on unwilling participants. It’s completely different on a nudist beach for example.

Wtf I thought the whole point of gender dysphoria is they feel repulsed by their biological genitalia. This supposed transman let her partner penetrate her vagina. She obviously isn't disgusted by her womanly bits. I'm starting to think a lot of trans people are narcissistic attention seekers , saying I'm gay or bi isn't edgy anymore. To be the most edgy you have to pump yourself full of hormones and mutilate yourself.

Her partner identifies as Non-Binary so no doubt this is how they get around the fact that they’re just a heterosexual couple shagging.

“Asked if the new policy was discriminatory…”

Of course the discrimination that was women facing not being able to compete against average middle-aged males has taken a back seat until now.

This thinking (isn’t this mean to a certain subset of males??) really highlights the problem with law changes and societal pressure that X (which is not Y) literally IS Y. That has to be unwound.
The “trans” cyclist (man) says they don’t care about making sport diverse ?! They’ve just created a whole new category that anyone can enter. Selfish, entitled, petulant child.

Recently I was walking through my local city. It was daytime, I was with others and the pavement was crowded. I was talking with my friends and watching where I was walking.

Suddenly, out of all the people, one stood out. A woman was walking in the opposite direction, also with a friend. She looked young, maybe mid twenties, with a very feminine face. And a beard.

I guessed she was a trans man. And even though I was occupied, my brain must still have been scanning my surroundings and said "woah, something's wrong here".

And I wasn't the only one. A few others ahead of me turned their heads for another look. So yes, we were all trying to process what we'd just seen.
Exactly, and we'd do the same automatic scanning if a circus clown walked by, or a child walking with unusual cartoon balloons, or if we saw a man walking past 2 feet taller than everyone else in the street. We have eyes (most of us) and we observe everything around us automatically. It's an innate trait in our brains, linked to survival, I guess. So when we get glared at for doing a double take, we are being penalised for doing what we have no control over. We can't help observing what we see, but there are people out there now, in increasing number, who want us to somehow reject the truth we see.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

George Orwell, 1984

I just find it utterly ridiculous that we are supposed to lie to ourselves about the truth.

The trans s**cide figures are not because if transphobia, if it happens it will be due to untreated mental illness that was superseded by the gender nonsense.

The sport thing is all so much smoke and mirrors. Why the fuck, right at the start did they have a separate category for women? Simple answer is because when women were finally allowed to compete, we could not run faster, throw further, jump higher or longer than men. Not that we are a weaker version of men, but our bodies are different. It is disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

I don't object to 2 men kissing but the fetish clothing is too much. What is this teaching kids? That all gay men like wearing bondage clothes 😳
Same, am sure I've said this before but why are books not showing how similar gay and lesbian couples are to straight couples with regards to jobs, hobbies, a good school for their children.
Surely it would be far more helpful for acceptance than pushing the idea that all gays/ lesbians are into kink and a fetish soaked lifestyle

Was talking about this with my husband just a short while ago!! Why do they think those categories existed in the first place! Why have there never been any female premier league players 🤪 female NBA players that make the men’s team. It’s obvious isn’t it. We need a separate category, how did pseudoscience come along to skew such obvious things? It’s scary.
In some sports (mainly horse based events) men and women compete equally because there isn't an obvious physical advantage.

I recently had a frustrating conversation with someone who seemed to think if trans women could keep their testosterone under a certain level they should be able to compete against women. They didn't seem to understand that testosterone or not, the male physical advantage is baked into every part of their body!

What's going to happen at the Olympics when different countries with different attitudes to trans women in sports come together? Eventually a country that doesn't support it will be beaten by a trans person and if it's China for example, they won't take it well. I know NZ had a weight lifter but that's kind of niche. If a trans person wins an athletic event or swimming (Lia Thomas maybe?) then it could really bring things to a head.
I would hope that with so much attention being focused on it, male participation in female competition will be reconsidered everywhere.

As for that Emily chap, what a massive cock sucker. I've seen a few comments from the LGB community who are pretty much, 'fuck you guys, this isn't about us, we competed only in our sexed competitions, stop dragging us into your TQ+ bullshit'.

I think the trans lot are going to find themselves very much out in the cold this winter.

As for genocide, as others have said, it's the only genocide where all the victims get to complain about 'being genocided'.

I don’t want to know what people get up to in their private lives, supposed to be private lives, gay or straight. I’m not a student who thinks I have never is the best drinking game.

Between consenting adults go and have fun, don’t tell me about it. I don’t care. This does not mean you can bring fetishes and adult material into the general public sphere that includes children. Why is it so difficult to understand? Social media, over sharing, erosion of boundaries at work… they all talk about bringing their whole selves to work, I don’t think I should bring Party Vanelope to work.

Propriety, and appropriateness is not old fashioned and prudish, it is respectful of a working environment. I worry for a person in the alphabet community who cannot function without their ‘special status’ being affirmed at all points. Someone comes out as gay at work, I am thankful they feel comfortable enough to not pretend to have an opposite sex partner to fit in. I don’t actually know about the relationship status of most people in the office unless they tell me. A man ‘coming out’ as a woman and dressing as a parody is parading his fetish in the workplace and making us participate in it. I reject that.

I find it incredible that that Emily character has so much visceral hatred towards the cycling body that until yesterday, she was more than happy to accept awards from... 🤔

Her claims need to be dismantled one by one and they should go after 'Emily' legally for spouting such bullshit.
