The new thinking seems to be that if you simply put the word “privilege” after any given adjective it automatically becomes a thing. I’m waiting for the appearance of the phrase privileged underprivileged to describe someone who is not quite a broke as their neighbour. Or the privileged dead to describe graves with better headstones.

Or that by putting ‘white woman’ in front of a misogynistic statement, the statement automatically becomes not misogynistic?
I’ve woken up today feeling so jaded tbh. I was thinking last night that liberal feminism has done such a number on women it’s crazy, like how can you turn round to your fellow sister and tell her that she is in fact the privileged oppressor just because she doesn’t centre biological transgender males in every single discussion that happens about women’s rights?
The whole point of feminism is that it’s about liberation, it’s not about centering males and what they want, just because they put on a dress and demand it, it’s not about being a polite woman and pandering to what men want, but that’s what it has become. You literally cannot even have a bleeping discussion about women’s rightd (or even a rant about your own experiences) without someone bringing up transgenders, and if you don’t agree with them, you’re automatically labelled an evil TERF. It’s so bleeping jarring and it feels like feminism, the one topic which is supposed to be about us and our freedom, has been totally hijacked by males🫤.
Sorry this has turned into a rant, it’s just so annoying.

I’ve not heard that podcast but I feel the same about the Busy Philipps podcast, which I dip in and out of. Both Busy and her co hosts are feminists but I cannot understand the pandering to the cult of trans. It seems to go against everything they are saying. I can even hear them hesitate over saying the word woman at times. They do an ad for s*x toys and say it’s for ‘people with vulvas’ I’m like you I tell myself I can’t limit myself to people with the exact same beliefs. We should be listening to differing opinions at times. I’m open to having my mind changed. But they’ve yet to do that.

I can’t believe the majority of audiences are interested in this stuff. Rather maybe like us they just tolerate that because they want to hear the bits they tune in for.

If I cut out all the creative types I like who appear to support an ideology that encourages the sterilisation of children I wouldn’t have much to watch, read or listen to. I just have to hope they will come to their senses. Though I am happy to cancel Lorraine Kelly right now.

It's so frustrating. When I read articles from people supporting men in women's sport etc. they make it all sound so reasonable and they're so self-righteous about it. It's gaslighting on a massive, massive scale. I think the tide is turning but I also think it might be too late to fully go back to the way it was before when it was a medical thing and very few people transitioned.

I think it's another example of feeling uncomfortable with the people we're now aligned with because we believe in biological sex.
On one hand I believe that we should judge the idea not the speaker and take all the support we can get. On the other hand, associating with some people or groups makes it easier for opponents to dismiss us as far right terfs and is a turn off for people who might otherwise support us.

I don't even acknowledge liberal feminism as a form of feminism anymore. It's a mesh of individualism and capitalism, "It's my choice to inject myself with Botox, so empowering, why do women have to tear each other down?"

Somewhere along the way, women started telling themselves that feminism is supposed to make you feel good. Parts of it can, like the friendships you form when women meet in women-only spaces, but on the whole, when you lift the lid, feminism makes you feel like tit, because you realise just how much violence and awfulness is levelled at women and girls around the world, and you have to examine the things that hit a nerve. In some ways, it's easier not to go down that rabbit hole, because you see the world in a different way, and not for the better.

I say this as someone who was an appalling Pickme in my 20s, I could cringe myself inside out at some of the tit I used to say and think.

Yes 100% this, you put it much better than me. If what you’re doing panders to the patriarchy and what men want, then it’s not a feminist act. Feminism isn’t about individual choices or beliefs, women should be able to choose do what they want with their bodies of course, but those decisions aren’t always inherently empowering, or good for women in society in general just because you’ve chosen to do it.

Which is true of all sports at all levels, no one is being prevented from playing, just find the appropriate team for your biological sex and level of ability. You know, like we all have to, I'd love to have played a sport at a professional level but I was never good enough.

Caught up with some family yesterday and got talking to an older aunt. She's mostly lived in rural villages and mentioned a TiM who she worked with in the early 2000s who would rock up in heels, pencil skirt, ratty wig (you know the type - classic AGP). She scoffed at it all saying it was a load of horse tit and you knew immediately that he wasn't a woman but just an attention seeker.

I didn't go into too much detail about AGP or fetishists (Easter Sunday lunch and all that) but I love how older women see right through this balls. Saying it how it is: nope, you're just a bloke in a dress.

The botox "decision" always gets me. I used to want botox when I reached a certain age and convinced myself I was doing it for me, my choice, all that. But the real reason is that I didn't want to be seen as looking "old" because women who look visibly old are written off. And that's the issue. Notice how men never have this issue or are queuing up for botox.

But the real reason is that I didn't want to be seen as looking "old" because women who look visibly old are written off. And that's the issue. Notice how men never have this issue or are queuing up for botox.

Because he wants men to get their own way and dominate everything. He wants to eradicate women. It is no coincidence that him and his vile bully husband have two sons. I think Tom Daley is one of those gay men who don't see women as real people. Women only exist when he needs something from them, eg. a baby. Therefore it's perfectly valid to demand women abandon their aspirations of sporting success if a man wants to step in and take it instead. Women are simply unimportant in his eyes.

I remember when I was a teen thinking wouldn’t it be good if I could have large taken from my stomach and redistributed into my bum and boobs! I was totally unaware of BBL and the fact that it was actually a real thing that was possible to do. God knows if I had the money and extra motivation what I would have done. Now cosmetic surgery is everywhere. All the reality Tv stars have had something done, people you know have had a bit of botox or fillers and it seems just like the new make up.

This is really true. Slightly different angle, but I was talking with someone the other day who made the point that someone could have had the potential to be a superstar in their chosen sport, but if they don’t start young enough it’s just not going to happen. The kids who start at age 5 are the ones who will be world champions/Olympic medalists. Starting the same sport at age 10 or 15 doesn’t mean they can’t play/compete/enjoy the sport, it just means they aren’t going to get the same level.

It’s not discrimination, or stopping anyone from doing what they love. It’s just life.
