It amazes me how a parent's ability to safeguard their children flies out of the window in the face of some glitter and validation for being a Not Like Other Mums. Is this the result of boundaries being eroded by queer theory? Or are people just plain stupid?

Not confirmed but just read on Twitter that Jess Phillips was given a list of the names of murdered women to read out in the parliamentary debate on IWD and she took it upon herself to add the name of Briana Ghey. The death of Briana is tragic but we don't know the circumstances and it did NOT belong on that list. Shame on her.

They had a highly publicised case last year where an abusive husband claimed a trans identity, meaning he couldn't legally be charged with "gender based violence" (i.e. violence by a man against a woman) and instead was charged with "domestic violence" (which anyone can be charged with.) That meant that he couldn't be forced to leave the home he shared with the victim and she was stuck with him - and then he filed charges against her for "misgendering" him, yes that is a criminal offence!

I left another Facebook style and beauty group because of this. I find it unbelievable how we’ve gone in a few short years from being able to state “that bloke in a dress and heels is a perv” to all these women saying “[that bloke in a dress and heels] has better legs than I do! Squee!!”

You don’t hate minority groups just because you’re not happy with the complete erasure of she/her in a maternity policy. I’d be fuming. Women matter too? Not just the teeny tiny minority who identify as something else and the even smaller and let’s face it, probably non existent group that would want to get pregnant. Why are we bending over backwards for these non existent groups while cheering for the exclusion and erasure of female words to describe women?My employer has just rebranded the maternity policy to the ‘maternity and pregnant parent policy’ and changed the language to gender neutral. I didn’t have involvement in the changes but I did have to lead an organisational workshop to explain and ‘celebrate’ the changespeople were LOVING it, senior leaders pointing out the typos where the word ‘her’ had been missed and beaming with pride that they are absolutely on the inclusive ball. Little virtual rounds of applause animations flying about my screen. Don’t know what I’m supposed to do in these scenarios

I am too gobby and wouldn’t have been able to hide my opinions on this at work, risky as that would be. I dread the day my work does this. It actually really upsets me. It is so so stupid and offensive to women…but does anyone care of a woman is offended? Or do we only care of a trans woman is offended? Sorry, not questions for you to answer @a.pain just general ranting!!

Yes, it's statistically unlikely that all the friends are not straight but that's not the issue here. It's gender ideology. If a child thinks they might be gay and experiments then decides they are not then no harm done but if they decide they are trans they are increasingly likely to be able to mutilate their bodies, seek an answer to their teenage struggles that isn't going to be there and possibly soon be able to actually change their gender.

I don't know if you were a Terf last year? but 2022 IWD, was absolutely soul destroying particularly in the UK. Everyone from Police forces to local governments to designers, TV companies/shows, to huge corporations celebrated men! It really wasn't even 1% as bad this year. It shows that boycotting and pointing out sexism and misogyny actually does work. Probably the boycotting TBH but even so, there is a shift.IWD this year for me, felt like such a let down. Possibly because there were the usual man babies crying that ‘there’s no day for men’ (there is), I felt like there was no really strong political discussion around it. Probably because politicians are too afraid to talk about women because TIMs will also throw a tantrum. Let’s just keep pandering to the menfolk, shall we?The only stuff I really saw was all commercial and cynical, businesses trying to cash in on the day. I mean, I know that as a woman, I really like to celebrate IWD with some special doughnuts to really focus my attention on the causes close to my heart

I'm a fan of theatre and sick of seeing awards categories for "best female or non-binary performer" (or variants) and "best male" - whereby all "non-binary" people, male or female, are up against the women. Also seeing female roles in musicals go to a drag performer - e.g. Miss Hannigan in Annie or Mama Morton in Chicago. It's one thing if the role was actually written as a drag role for a man (i.e. Angel in Rent, Tracy's mother in Hairspray) but another when female "character" roles are now done in drag instead of letting a woman play them
