I know we have spoken about the horrors of getting a coil in without pain relief. I’ve been through it twice and it’s extremely painful. But it has taken away my periods and the pain. I still feel the odd twinge of pain but it doesn’t last. I had painful periods for years before this, really sore cramps and when I was much younger, late teens, I had terrible lower back pain and aching pain in my thighs with it.

It’s not for everyone but I’ve had the Mirena coil for ten years and it’s been a god send. I plan on continuing with it as I approach menopause. Despite the horrendous pain of getting it removed/one put back in. I’m going to see if I can get it done under local anesthetic. I suspect the answer will be a resounding no though.

Yeah I have a few friends who've said the same about how the Mirena coil has relieved extremely painful periods.

I totally agree with you . I've had a mastectomy too .

I'm sorry to hear this, I hope you're OK. I've never really made peace with mine although I know a lot of women do.

I have three large indoor cats, my first thought is who will empty the solid waste? Husband and I take turns but I can't imagine the cleaners wanting to get the poo scoop out and get rid of it.
Does the child realise how cats have their temperature taken? Are they willing to get a thermometer up their bum?

Does anyone have any good book recommendations about feminism? I really want to read some, but I’m not sure where to start as there’s so many also, I’d recommend the book Killjoy by Jo Cheetham. It’s about the fantastic group of women who campaigned for The Sun to get rid of the Page 3 girls.

I’m so sorry to hear of all these awful and disgusting labour stories. It’s shocking the disparity in care received and the inhumane ways women can be treated in their most vulnerable times.

I have just given birth to my own little preemie baby, but the care I have received to date has been gold standard. Very women centred (no birthing or chest feeding here, thank god) and I have been made to feel like an absolute superwoman in a very stressful time.

I just want wanted to say there are still those who aren’t caught up in all this bull, and give and treat women with the respect that we deserve. We are the ONLY sex that can birth children, and always will be.

Aww congratulations and hope all is well with your baba that’s great to hear you got great women-centred care. Had cheered me up a little.

To try and add a little positivity, without revealing too much about where I work, it’ll hopefully reassure you all that despite the type of institution it is (you’d expect it to be full on TRA), there is very little talk of it and only 1 person I know of puts their pronouns on their email. I roll my eyes every time I see it popping up. We have gender neutral toilets but also men and womens. Most of my colleagues are terfs. There are more of us than Twitter would have you believe. And when I say that, yet again for the avoidance of doubt, not one of us has ‘hate’ for trans people. It’s a nuanced debate and not entirely black and white. Trans people deserve rights like anyone else, but not at the expense of women.

Sat with my step daughter last night going thru one of her dating apps. She’s on Zoe which is for lesbians. We looked at probably 30 profiles and I’d say at least 10 of those were men who ‘identify as les’ My step daughter is bleeping brutal and tells any that contact her that she is a les and doesn’t date men She replied to one that he looked more like Lewis Capaldi than Lewis Capaldi himself She thinks she’ll probably be banned soon as a result though which is proper tit.

This law redefined heterosexuality and homosexuality according to the new gospel of the LGBT lobby. None of the lesbians I know would. I know one who has slept with men, but has decided she doesn’t like wicks and is now married to a woman. I know quite a few who were married to men, had kids and are now married to women. They have picked their lane.

I mean this is also before you bring into the equation the effects of all the hormones on these people’s sexual functioning either. I would think for many of these kids they are rendering themselves a rather niche category. I’ve read a few accounts of “transwomen” (men) that date men and say they are often just treated as fetishes, probably by closeted men. Anyways apart from genitalia, male and female bodies have so many differences, I doubt many could overlook it.

I had a thought today. If someone insists on knowing what my pronouns are, I’m going to say they are “I/Me”. Then I can go on to say or do the most outrageous things and keep quiet about it and if anyone asks who did it or said it, if they are fully respectful of pronouns the correct response is “I did it” or “It was me”

And even in a typical straightforward meeting of two people (gay or straight), what one person finds attractive and another is so complex, you've got pheromones at play, individual history/life experience that can influence if one person is attracted or not. If a woman's on the pill has an impact on who she finds sexually attractive, men are affected by a woman ovulating, it's a big old chemical cocktail and some things just won't work . Throw in a trans person and it's a whole other level of complication

Id say that any man who dates a TiM who still has his fool is a fetishist. If you’re a gay man, you’re not going to be attracted to someone who resembles a woman, not that a lot of them look anything like a woman !

it’s also somewhat disturbing that, even in our progressive western countries, our hard-won freedoms could be subtly eroded. It worries me that we might be inadvertently subjugated with the censure of female-only spaces or words like “mother” and “breastfeeding” (and told we must use terms like “female parent” and “chestfeeding” instead.) We must beware that we are not being kicked back into inequality by politically correct stealth.
