Nicola Sturgeon is stepping down. Saw that coming after the backlash from the gender bill, it was clear she was losing control and hated it. I didn't think she'd step down so soon though.

political differences aside, I think she is a capable individual. I'm not sure why people are happy about this because the SNP are still in power ultimately and still support the bill. So, it'll just be someone else and not sure who will be as capable as Nicola.

Also, I wonder what her reasons will be? has she had it?

I would imagine she'd already tried that option and been told no breach of rules occurred. She's done it once before, to the guy who said she was responsible for not dealing with the pornographic images people were posting on the threads where she was sharing drawings of the Ickabog that children had sent her.

Maybe, but I'd be saying the same thing if a GC account was tweeting an apology to a TRA after an argument that went a bit far.

It's effectively anti the ethos that sites like Tattle exist. Most people came here (at least initially) to be critical about influencers and celebs that don't like being critiqued.

I don't think JK is transphobic at all, but as time has gone on she's getting more of a plonker. The latest stuff about her wealth not causing her to lose any sleep was a case in point. This is just my opinion, I don't wanna get sued.

About ten years ago Rebecca Root (transwoman actor) was the lead in a sitcom called Boy Meets Girl where he and his new boyfriend navigate the obstacles in their relationship resulting from Root's character being trans and about 15 years older. It was cancelled pretty quickly (it was very boring and would still be boring even if it were about a natal woman dating a younger man) but I wonder if it'd be controversial now since the main character is immediately upfront with the boyfriend about being trans, even though it's obvious?

I didn't mind Boy Meets Girl and I don't remember it causing much of a stir at the time. I think it'd get more hate nowadays with the whole gender Nicola Sturgeon debacle.

I saw the other day that Rebecca Root is the voice actress of the trans character in Hogwarts Legacy.

According to the below website, the Registrar does have some discretion. So presumably if the family wanted a new name to be recorded, the Registrar could allow it, even without a GRC. I expect there would still need to be some link to the person's previous/original name for legal reasons, though.

Also the description of the boy and girl arrested was very specific. The boy had a long black robe with hood and the girl a striped black-red or purple coat with floaty full length skirt or wide trousers.
