Does the ban go far enough though? Why not from birth? I have zero medical qualifications but I do have eyes & young boys & girls look physically different to me. But more than that what if it encourages children to transition?

I’m all for gender recognition. But I’m completely anti anything that attempts to align sex & gender. I’m anti targeting kids and teenagers & introducing more confusion at a vulnerable time in their lives.
As far as I’m concerned consenting adults can 100% live as they chose and I will respect that choice but using their name etc. But that does not extend to allowing the exercise of those rights to infringe on others rights - sports, changing rooms etc.

We should be able to live in a fair, open society where healthy debate is allowed. The decision by the swimming body is hopefully the first step in what has felt like a descent into madness. Hopefully it will also present an opportunity to bed down rights for trans people so that they can have their own safe spaces etc.

I don’t know if I’m overthinking, saying something obvious that’s already been said, or just talking crap:

With all the examples of leaflets and guidance, particularly in the NHS, it’s the lines for women that are being blurred by language. There’s men (strictly defined) and then “other” lumped together with women.

The same is also happening with sexuality. There’s straight (strictly defined), and then “other” lumped together under the trans umbrella.

The same is also happening with race. There’s white (strictly defined), and then there’s “other”, defined as ‘BAME’.

The “others” are just that: others, “doesn’t matter what you really are (and don’t really care tbh) you go in the ‘other’ pile.”

The three things that remain defined are: Straight, white, men.

I did think that anyway but I just came across BAME which I’ve had an aversion to anyway and then it all just sort of linked. Does anyone else think that?

Absolutely. Men, straight and white are the default in our society. Everyone else is non-men, non-straight and non-white. Ironically that’s why transwomen rise to the top, because deep down everyone knows they are (very often straight white) men.

There’s very little I like about men as a sex class, but I have to say I admire their refusal to be pushed aside or redefined by all of this TRA nonsense. TiM aren’t large enough of a population to achieve what they’ve achieved in eroding the rights of women alone - they’ve had help, and a lot of it has come from women themselves.

It’s not our fault as women that we tend to be socialised as young girls to be the peacekeepers, never make a fuss and to always put others before ourselves, but a lot of women do need to take responsibility for the fact that we’ve let these people invade and pose a threat to us. TRAs would never even try to push men about like this because they wouldn’t succeed - part of that’s because of male privilege, another part of that is entirely the fault of women who’ve accepted this tit at any point (I’m included in that demographic, sadly).

Ugh. One of the main newspapers here has an article (or rather, what I would call an opinion piece) on their homepage this morning claiming FINA's decision is 'unscientific'.

The same publisher recently tried to out Rebel Wilson (and so she did it herself before they published the article).

What respect for women they have

It’s utterly hilarious when panels of experts are told they’re wrong by random laymen who get to write opinion pieces because mummy and daddy are well connected and have no relevant qualifications. Random Twitter users tried to call World Rugby’s very extensive review unscientific years ago, I can’t imagine many of them manage to convince anyone.

Financially I bet it’s in the best interests of governing bodies to include the stunning and brave participants - surely it must encourage sponsorships from companies looking to virtue signal, and the controversy might result in more viewers as well as the sport being widely discussed.

World Rugby really had to make a decision sooner because it’s a contact sport and women were in danger. The women hating activists are getting nastier and more abusive because they know their arguments are failing.

ETA just like the anti abortion cause in the US, it’s a thinly veiled hatred of women, misogyny fuels these campaigners, not the cause. They don’t care about trans people or unborn babies, just about keeping women in their place as subservient to men.

It's not just socialisation, it's also a lack of testosterone hence why TiMs are so vocal, even when they lower their testosterone, they still have atleast 3x more than the average woman. Reduce it to 0 and they might shut the duck up

Sadly I’m pretty sure we still have TiM playing domestically in the UK, it’s atrocious.

Yep. Nothing to do with unborn babies, they don’t give a tit about them. Men can’t stand the fact that their mothers could have chosen to abort them and that it’s women that chose which genes go forward. They want control over that

I’ve always thought that the reason men are dominant as a sex class is because no matter what happens they will always stick together and stick up for one another - that’s the real reason so many of them stick up for trans identifying males. Not because they really believe they are women, they don’t believe it at all, but because they know without a shadow of a doubt that they are men and thus they are united against women and keeping us in our place.
Imagine if women could stick together like that. The world would be a very different place. I can’t help but suspect that the reason they are so against women gathering and talking together is because they are frightened we might unite and find out we are strong.

Any news on Allison Bailey’s tribunal result?

Yougovchat on Twitter are doing a poll about the swimming ruling - go and give your opinion! The last question re conversion therapy is bullshit as it’s exploratory therapy. ie talking around the subject, exploring the patients thinking and past experiences - the absence of immediate affirmation. I don’t call it conversion therapy. You can’t convert someone from being what they already are anyway.

Just turned the radio on and Jeremy Vine is discussing the new swimming rule, I should have known to turn it off straight away from that 🙄 Anyway they just had a tim on who was saying it was unfair they were getting banned, no one is getting banned you just have to compete with your sex! They apparently are an amateur footballer and play in a mixed sex team and can’t keep up with the men, probably because they’re not very good 😂

I just did the YouGovChat poll. The results seem to be overwhelmingly on the gender critical side, which was good to see.

I didn’t like the wording of the conversion therapy question either. It isn’t about “changing someone’s gender”. It’s about offering unbiased therapy to those questioning their gender, not immediate affirmation and a referral to the Tavistock.

There's an awful lot of Women on the anti abortion wagon to be fair, in fact in Mississippi it's a woman leading the campaign because according to her forcing women to have children that they don't want at that moment (or at all) will allow them to have it all based on her own experiences. I personally also find it really difficult to hear women with disabled children try to force encourage other women to continue pregnancies. Bringing a child into the world is a very personal decision and no one should be dictating what an individual should do under any circumstances.

They're such misogynists. "Obviously I'm a woman because I'm slow and weak compared to the other men."

Women are just failed men to them.
