Gary Lutz, who until recently was a vaguely successful “cult” short story writer. Just like for Ellen Page, the internet has done a sterling job of rewriting history, referring to “her” work when discussing books Lutz wrote when Lutz was Gary not Garielle.

I read an article about a campaign against "period poverty" that was promoted with an award-winning video designed by an advertising agency depicting girls and women in frustrating situations where they cannot afford sanitary products or are otherwise made fun of, inconvenienced, etc for having periods. Some scenes show a transman in a men's toilet where she tries to cover the sound of herself unwrapping pads and later getting funny looks from the actual men in the room ... what do you expect? That in itself isn't unfair, it's just proof that she isn't a man

As a mature adult I find it quite easy to ignore anyone else in a public toilet (trans or not) and I don't worry what anyone else thinks about me.
Teenagers on the other hand are very easily embarrassed and all are desperate for acceptance. Having mixed toilets is going to be far more problematic for young people than it is for older people. Girls will find it embarrassing to be found using the tampon machine if a boy walks in. It's also true that girls will gossip together in a toilet space (I remember doing that at school) and now that space has been taken away from them.

I notice the What’s On Stage awards now have "best male-identifying/female-identifying" categories instead of male or female. Although they at least don't lump in "non-binary" with female
I hate this. I commented on an Instagram page where they had a competition calling for those who identify as female and marginalised genders and said I don’t identify as a female, I just am one. And got a few loonies replying. I didn’t spend much time debating with them as life is too short to try and argue reality with random internet loonballs.
I hate that the media will shout loudly about the rare 'success stories' but fail to mention the 99.9% of people who won't make a living from it, and could be haunted for years by pictures and videos that they legally signed the rights away to the moment they were posted. All it does is convince other young women to go the same route, as though the virtual streets are paved with gold.
I also hope she's saving some/most of the money she's making. She's an attractive woman but she's 25, in a few years she could easily find herself on the scrapheap because of her age.
I'm also eye-rolling at her 'support your local sex worker' shirt she wears in one of the clips. She's making tens of thousands a month, flying all over the world and is her own boss - her life is not remotely comparable to the average sex-worker.
