This is unbelievable stuff, coming from a forum that frames itself as being all woke and progressive. It is basically saying that harassment of women is usually ok as you will get away with it. Also JK didn't have to name and shame their accounts, they did that themselves and I daresay that they deleted their accounts out of cowardice rather than had them "nuked out of existence"

"And I think this is where the naivety of the protestors comes into play. They didn't stop to think that Ms Rowling might see this as harassment (and I'd argue that doing this on someone's front lawn is harassment as there's a component of "we know where you live") but also didn't take into account the massive power imbalance. Usually women who are harassed have to cop it on the chin and turn the other cheek. JK on the other hand wields enormous power. This is a case where the police and the press will take it very seriously and she's also been able to counter this online with naming said people's twitter accounts (I'll save you the trouble, all three have been nuked out of existence).

Political action is like Judo and she's been able to flip this quite successfully to make her case that all trans activists (and trans women) are dangerous harassers. What these three have inadvertently done is make the voices of Terfs louder, completely silenced their own voices and have made the jobs of trans activists and trans allies incredibly hard as anyone interviewed will have to disavow the actions of these three or step through a minefield of questions about what constitutes free speech and what constitutes harassment. I'm not sure Rowling can be blamed for turning this into a clear political win here. These three have learned a very difficult lesson (and will continue to learn this lesson as they face the legal system and most likely cancellation socially and job wise.)"

You can't even satirise this, because it is already satire.

Re: a previous point raised on this thread: gender ideology gave misogynistic men on the left an acceptable way to give women a kicking and many of them ran with it.

It's incomprehensible. And people will argue for disgusting sex offenders like him to be in women's prisons, and somehow we're the bad guys for questioning it?!

The fact that so many people think progressive, left wing women like me are all suddenly "bigots" on this issue, rather than there being something seriously bleeping wrong, is shocking.

Woman accused of exposing pen. There are just no words.
I’m glad whoever wrote the headline mentioned “pen” though. They could have said “genitals” and people really would have thought it was a woman.

Well done Teeside Live for shining a light on this insanity 😄

Are they not shining a light on the insanity unintentionally though rather than by design? The article reads like they are just embracing the ridiculous idea that some women have a pen.

I don't know if anyone caught The Mess We're In yesterday with TT - it was a brilliant discussion and she raised the valid point about use of pronouns in the workplace.

Employers now have a great excuse if they want to get rid of an employee who is neurodivergent, elderly or doesn't speak English as a first language - wait for them to misgender someone, then all of a sudden they are a danger, making the workplace 'unsafe' and in breach of diversity and inclusion policies.

My work senior who forced us all to do the woke pronouns thing just got my trans colleagues pronouns wrong while talking about them in a Zoom meeting. I'm internally screaming 😭😂

It could be read like that I suppose. But either way, 99% of ordinary people who come across that headline are going to say “WTF?” so it doesn’t matter 😄

I've just read an article on my work's intranet written by a bloke about how he puts his preferred pronouns in his email because it's a small thing he can do to be inclusive blah blah blah.

Nobody is misgendering Steve, but never let a man miss an opportunity to tell the world how bleeping great he is for doing duck all. Performative bull.

Also the way "gender identity" is touted as if its fact. bleeping nonsense.

Even when they whip out their pen, you still can't be sure these days.

I take it you are referring to this person here........a known habitual sex offender of underage children

More back story on the person mentioned above.....sickening

I do believe trans woman should have the right to change their name and be addressed as she/her. However if the person has been convicted of any sexual offences or violence against women that privilege is lost.

Another woman at work has put her pronouns in her email.

duck knows why.

And the person that did that crime. Not a woman. Barely a person .
