We are what they'll never be. They can tell themselves we're jealous of their eye makeup, or whatever. They can tell themselves everyone is uncontrollably attracted to them and we are jealous. They can tell themselves they can 'woman' better than us. But deep down they know it's all lies
Got an email from my child's secondary school, saying they provide free period products for anyone who needs them. The email explained they've been given money to fund this and that students who need anything can pick them up at X location and any parent can also email if they need some for home and the child will be given a supply to take home.
Great initiative, glad it exists.
The email was addressed to me (the parent) and throughout referred to 'your child' and 'students'. Great, makes sense.
At the end, and added line saying 'girls, non-binary people and trans people may need access to period products'. Ok, what? It's so irrelevant. You've just sent me an email saying that if my child needs tampons or pads they can get them for free through the school. I'm the mum. I know whether my child needs this or not. Why do I need to be lectured about who may or may not need period products? Are you also going to tell me that people who are tall may need access to period products? Or people who wear glasses?

I think she has taken her anger out on 'terfs'. She was particularly horrible about JK Rowling around the time of the essay. She has written a book about the experience which I haven't read. But like I said easier to blame everyone else than her selfish narcissistic husband

Now a lot of the scientific parts go over me but what I found quite worrying was in these two paragraphs. That uterine transplants are possible but require dead women to donate, that animal studies will need to be carried out to see if this will work and that the reproductive ‘aspirations’ of M2F may make it become legally and ethically unfeasible to deny them this. I think many people realise that animal testing is a necessary evil for medical advancement but chopping up and mutilating the animals so men can change their biology is really worrying. Plus the need for female donors - are we going to have to put down that we don’t want our reproductive organs used which I can see a lot of women doing. I don’t wish my organs to co sign this freak show. But that will mean women will miss out (quelle surprise!) on organ donation that could potentially help them. As for the comment that this is something we might have to eventually accept due to ethical and legal reasons - why, when it only effects 0.5 and 1.4% of adult males?
(I don’t know if the 0.5 and 1.4% of adult males is worldwide or American based or from another country. I think the paper is as recent as 2019 but again not 100% sure)
Just think of the amount of money that this is all going to cost. That could be spent elsewhere on medical treatments. And the experimentation on animals, I can just about accept some animal experimentation for medical purposes, but not for vanity or beauty projects.
I think its also tricky to have babies created artifically. * I know this is a massively complicated issue, as I am not against IVF per se, but I do worry about those parents who are extremely protective of their 'precious. much wanted baby. The kind of child, who can never do anything wrong, and is spoilt rotten! In my head, Babies should be a natural part of life, not a deliberate and expensive choice, like a car!
I did start to investigate online where the hormones for hrt comes from. But it is surprising quiet! As this has to be a hormone used for trans treatments! Animal protection issues were a factor in me refusing to use hrt!
Originally hrt came from factory farmed pregnant mares, who were deliberately kept pregnant, and the male foals were destroyed as surplus to requirements. But I cant find anything recent about how hrt hormones are currently made, which is odd in itself!
I just love the idea of a woke vegan....using medical treatments that are cruel to animals!! And completely un vegan!

Im in my 50s, have 2 grown up children and have worked with early years children!
From my childrens point of view, I think its tricky if women MPs are having children at 50. as it ignores the fact that a majority of women only have a short window of fertility. I cant see how politician are going to be serious about young women especially, needing affordable homes and childcare from their 20s onwards.
If you expect young couples to be getting their own homes in their late 30s,, because there is no way they can afford it until then, and then not starting to try for a baby until after this, this can make having children naturally a lot harder!

Did anyone know its something called White Ribbon Day? Something to do with eradicating violence against women. Ironically I only know about it because it was mentioned in an article about 12 year old Ava White, who was stabbed to death by teenage boys in Liverpool last night. I'm not reading the news 24-7 but I do scan it a few times a day - wondering whether I've missed anything or whether it's one of those lip service things.
Wasn't it yesterday? Where I live in London they organised some kind of event for it yesterday evening which I was due to attend but couldn;t as I wasn't that well (but also because I would have had to come alone home at night which I now hate doing tbh).

I think for me it is not only the age issue but the surrogacy thing, I haven't been able to find who the surrogate is, if it is a friend/relative of hers I would feel differently but if it is someone she is paying from abroad etc for me it is very unethical..
In related (ish) news has anybody been following the "scandal" of Stella Creasy bringing her baby into the commons? It really highlighted just HOW sexist it is, there is no maternity leave for MPs and they HAVE to attend debates in person when (in this day and age) there is clearly no need to. I have seen her speak in person a couple of times and find her really impressive, I had never even thought about it before but at one event I went to she was saying how good fixed term elections would be for women as you can (at least attempt to) plan pregnancies etc for when it will be more convenient (for want of a better word) something I had never considered but that makes perfect sense
I think some places have events across the week/weekend though,. Yeh, I agree, although I guess most people cannot attend in the day, but even then for people who work 5pm was very early anyway

Call me selfish but as a woman who’s had a fair share of arguments to do with woman’s health problems. I’d much rather they focused on making woman’s health care less of a battle and lost the attitude of “ it’s something you’ll have to deal with” before they start putting uteruses in men.
