I don't know much about Owen Jones so maybe I
am a worldly person if this doesn't seem like a gotcha to me. The western view of gender isn't universal. British men love to go to Thailand, nothing more British than a lads holiday to Thailand to participate in sex trafficking. Go to the red light district in Bangkok or Pattaya and you'll find a lot of what we in the west call ladyboys, who are not trans in the western sense, they are a third gender. There are endless straight British men, night after night, having sex with ladyboys, penii flapping in the wind.
If you think a straight man wouldn't have sex with someone who looked like a hot woman just because they have a pen, you underestimate the sexuality and depravity of the straight man. Of course, no straight man would admit it because
ew that's gay and perhaps that's why you're unaware of it, but there's a reason transgender pornography is one of the most popular categories of porn. Straight men are enthusiastically homophobic in public, but in private, when the blood is pumping, the presence of a pair of
bits is far more important than the absence of a
pen. Even heterosexual pornography is pretty gay, it is a lot of another man's
pen.
The "nerdy good people transwomen" I know appear asexual (as most tolerable people do) and are not involved in any sort of Discord-centered puppy-girl fetishism (as far as I know). The reason the transwomen I know are not fetishists is quite simply because I do not have any fetishists in my life, even for me, it is too much. That said, to reiterate, I was not trying to advocate for transwomen, I was trying to distinguish between anti-trans vs. being a sex-realist (I'm glad I have that term now). I understand why many people are anti-trans, I'm not anti-anti-trans, I think on balance, it is better to be anti-trans than be pro-trans just because that's the most woke option
