Blaire is such an odd choice to pick if you're just coming out as a transwoman... Surely a lot of people are instantly going to think of Blaire White.

I follow a page on Instagram called shade borough, it posts a lot of things in the news and is very heavily followed by the black community, they recently posted something about JK Rowling hitting back against being cancelled, and ALOT of the comments are in agreement with JK Rowling, saying things like ‘she said what she said’ and ‘what she said isn’t wrong though’ ‘her points were valid’ etc

Yeah and most of them have nothing in common with Blaire White. More like the Blair Witch Project

Also: why are they always engineers or working in IT?!

Male dominated environment. They think if they identify as a woman they will then tick a box for future promotion etc.

I think there's more to it than that. These are AGP males and it's curious why some professions have more AGP late transitioning men than others. I don't know the reason but there must be something in it

There's a protest/demonstration going on in Glasgow today related to Marion Millar as her original court date was meant to be today but has been moved to August. I didn't go (it's 26c here and I'm also stuck wfh) but a lot of women showed up as did Glinner. I try to avoid general twitter/reddit chat about these things but there's so many uninformed comments on this reddit post - some about Glinner and fair enough, I get that some people have an issue with him although I will say he's one of the few men who have dared to speak up for women.

It makes me so angry that these idiots write us off as "transphobic TERFs" and accuse us of not "accepting" trans people because none of them bother to actually listen. I accept trans people exist. I don't accept self ID or that you can change your sex. You can't. And I don't accept that women-only spaces should be erased when there's a clear need for them. It's all misogyny of course, because how dare women have an opinion on anything other that isn't rolling over and allowing hard-earned women's rights to be flushed down the toilet.

It's been moved to Tuesday 17th August which is the day after schools go back from summer holidays (in Glasgow, some go back on that day in other parts of Scotland) so it'll be a lot harder for people to travel down to support her as lots of them will be busy organising back-to-school :(

Some researchers think there's a link to autistic spectrum disorders. IT is a profession that attracts a higher than average number of individuals on the autistic spectrum.

The like is for agreement with the IT/online comment, I'm livid about the Norwegians getting fined.

I don't have periods because of my method of contraception. I'm that does not make me less of a woman nor does it align me with a transwoman.

I don't have periods because I have chosen contraception that stops them. Transwomen don't have periods because they are men imitating women.

Ugh JVN 🙄 what nonsense.

Women who don’t get periods are women because they’re biological women. Adult human females.

Not exactly GC relevant but seriously. They’ll let a man compete against women but women who won’t wear bikini bottoms are in the wrong. Sure. Fine. ALL THE EYEROLLS.

Eta: sorry seen it posted up thread.

The men’s team and the women’s team
Remind me again who sport is for? Because if that’s not sexualisation I don’t know what is.
It makes me so mad, we had to wear those stupid little gym skirts and shorts at school for sports, horrible expensive (one shop only) grey skirts which showed period blood terribly, light coloured shirts for uniform and gym (specific colour, again one shop only), no discussion over the idea of buying a sports bra (this was in the 00’s) yet the lads could wear dark, charcoal or black trousers, white shirts, long tracksuit bottoms etc which could be picked up from the supermarket so cheaply.

I was so uncomfortable doing gym and sports as a kid because the kit I had to wear was soo revealing when you’re 10-16 (it feels excruciating) and even now, it’s super hot but I’d be damned if I went for a run in a sports bra when it’s acceptable for men to run topless.

you should be able to wear whatever you want. Why can men (because let’s be honest it’s always men setting these policies) tell women what they can, can’t, must do?

sorry that’s a massive tangent with no real point.

They do indeed, I have the week off for that very reason 😂

A few comments in that reddit post (seemingly deleted now though, odd) were along the lines of "I'm not cis and will be staying indoors today as I'm scared of the protest" - honestly, behave people. The evil TERFs and Glinner aren't out to get you, you can leave that to those who align themselves with antifa
