Great comment section on this NYT article, my fave:

" "They are arguing about who should be seen, whose story ought to be heard and who deserves to be protected." I appreciate M. Gessen's argument, but my probably much less appreciated argument is people who were born female should not lose their sports opportunities to people who were born male but who then proceeded to temper as much of their maleness as possible to compete against people who were born females. It's just a fact of life that sometimes people are excluded from groups they want to belong to. "

"Ms Gillard at first claimed the issue wouldn’t be of interest to a British audience, before telling her questioner that the issues “were not raised by anyone (back in 2012, when the legislation came before parliament)) because they simply weren’t a matter of public discourse the way they are today.”
“It was a different time,’’ she added. “So it is an error to uplift what we know now and the public discourse now and just putting it down to 14 years ago’’"

I call bull, there is no way that no one brought up the consequences of this in 2012, I guarantee some feminists did and were told they were being bigots/hysterical/no one would ever abuse this

I've also been following the Tempest tribunal on Mumsnet, I thought that Tempest was batshit crazy but Emma Dunn is on another level completely. And the most shocking thing is that for 5 years she was employed fulltime to promote the a:gender network within the civil service (she herself has a DSD). So we, the taxpayers, were paying this trans-activist a salary to promote trans ideology.

Absolutely unbelievable. How the hell can that be justified? No wonder the civil service is captured. This is beyond shocking. Who signed that off?

I wonder what other trans-shaped skeletons are lurking in public sector organisations? With each new tribunal, I think that I can't be shocked anymore, yet here we are. A civil servant paid to work fulltine promoting a trans ideology network. Madness.

Update on the JK/Camilla photo comments. I think one of mine might be about Neil the Seal but the rest are all in support of JK.

Came across one such teacher yesterday. His account name says it all

He looks like a man, full stop.
Also he needs to get a clue about the Jim Crow era, I don't see trans people hanging from trees (Strange Fruit, Billie Holiday) or not being allowed to sit in certain areas of public transport. There's no KKK burning crosses on trans lawns. He's a bleeping dangerous idiot.

Even better all of the reacts (on my posts in Secret Celebrity Gossip) are like or love reacts, atm no sick angry or laugh reacts. That is quite amazing compared to how it used to be, especially as one was a large post about what women are.

I was thinking the same thing! I remember the days on here when even the mildest comment about not being able to literally change sex, TW are not W resulted in a flood of sick and angry reacts.

Maybe soon we won’t always get people yelling GEt bAcK tO THe GEnDer tHrEaD! 😂

A couple of years ago I made a comment about the social contagion of gender identity in schools (as an offshoot to a discussion about the Tennants and their cynical transing of one of their kids for progressive kudos) and it was NOT well received 🤣

The poster who was harping on about JK and Camilla does the same kind of thing on other threads, she doubles down and twists words and will not ever admit she might be wrong then gets upset that people are 'piling on.'
I really don't think she's a bad person, she just can't handle being told she's wrong.

I tried to explain the beginning of the KKK to her a while ago (American Civil War and Reconstruction are subjects I'm very interested in) and she straight up said no, you're wrong when I definitely knew what I was talking about.

Anyway it backfired and it's comforting to know the tide has really turned, at least on Tattle.

God, every time she posts I think of that Peep Show quote: 'You're not a bad person but I'm afraid to say that you're a moron.'

I remember being piled on on that thread when I said Brian Cox the astronomy guy on TV looked like he was transitioning.

For me, the tide will have really turned on Tattle when my mild response to someone policing the thread - 'get back to Gender thread where you belong' -is not deleted.
I've just checked and the post policing the thread is still there though 😐

Yeah, I got the impression she was a wee bit dim 😬 Seemed to want a pat on the back for stating that JKR’s views were highly controversial and her presence tarnishes anyone who stands next to her.

I think the poster is kinda naive, just reads the headlines and throws out comments without bothering to think things through.
I'm so sick of the fuckwittery of all things trans that I will call it out every time, I can't help myself! 🤪
