Why would we care about being called transphobic by people who are sexist? It’s just that old chestnut for me now, you really have to laugh tbh
Well they’ve had international companies and places like the royal academy of arts give in to their demands with the absolute fear of being called transphobic - so obviously they don’t know how to cope when that doesn’t workI’ve noticed a lot absolutely lose their tit if they call you transphobic and you don’t capitulate to their superior ethical take on stuff as a result.
Taking a look at her channel, I think she's a teenager and seems to be very #notlikeothergirls and I'm sooo randomI have so many thoughts about it. Is it just mental illness? Is it a culture that positively applauds such intense and endless navel gazing and labelling of oneself? Is it just “not like the other girls” to the power or ten?![]()
They have so much bile and anger. As they are middle aged males their blood pressure must be through the roof. Also more likely to have heart attacks. But then sex based medicine isn’t a thing is it?Being called transphobic by one of them is like being called a heretic by a religious person- I'm not part of your religion so work away and call me whatever you want if it pleases you
It's a good point. I do wonder how many people actually believe all this, or how many are just going along with the social contagion. Teenagers might pretend to want to be unique but we all just wanted to fit in and be liked at that age.Taking a look at her channel, I think she's a teenager and seems to be very #notlikeothergirls and I'm sooo random. I sometimes think back to my teen years and tbh sometimes I wonder if the main difference is simply we weren't publically recording our embarrassing teenhood for posterity.
What I think is quite sad is surely the essence of ‘non binary’ is what feminists want in general? Freedom from gender norms and stereotypes. But for everyone, not just people who ‘identify’ as it. I dunno, I feel like sometimes with this we’re not as apart as we think. Obviously I’m very against anyone pretending sex doesn’t exist and men accessing women’s spaces etc etc but non binary I find weird and sad because it’s like we’re arguing for the same thing in different packagingMaybe we should all start identifying as non binary, parents, teachers, etc as well. That should knock the contagion on its head once it becomes 'uncool'
Her parents should invent a whole range of custom pronouns and have bracelets traffic lighting which is to be used. It's a good point. this is the thing, most people don't just have stereotypically male or female traits, we are a mix of both, why the need to divide yourself? Imagine telling your employer they need to address you differently on different daysWhat an exhausting way to live your life. They just expect people to notice their bracelets and know what they mean? What if the bracelets get lost? They’d be ducked! This is not normal. These people live in fantasy land.
I've been thinking along similar lines. I think it tries to relate back to a time when men would feel really comfortable telling gay guys that they 'just didn't get it, they could never be with a dude.' And the reasonable response was 'you don't need to get it'. Reasonable, but also wrong. Because a straight person understands sexual attraction, love, desire, etc., so there is nothing to get.Something I’ve noticed a lot on social media, if there really isn’t an argument to be made in defence of something ridiculous (neo pronouns for example) commenters will just resort to ‘you don’t have to understand it just respect it!’ how worrying that the younger generations are actively discouraging critical thought and telling peers to just accept what they are being told - it’s just so sad when so much of youth culture in the past has been about questioning authority
I've worked with someone recently who has decided he is non binary, nothing has changed in his behaviour or appearance except he now makes a massive bleeping deal about being Mx and insisting we use they/them pronouns. In a profession dominated by men already and that has a huge problem with recruiting and retaining women, I honestly find it a total joke tbh.I'd love to watch a documentary which catches up with all these non-binary-my-gender-is-like-eating-alphabetti-spaghetti in about ten years time.
I guarantee these uber hip, "cool cats" are settled down, in boring jobs like accountant* or something else as dreary with 2.4 children in their normal terraced houses with their normal relationships as they go by Mr and Mrs/Ms Brown/Jones/Smith and are so painfully NORMAL and not special in any which way.
This is not sustainable. Zog's children are not going to be called Zogster Smith and Zoggette Smith at school now, are they?
* I am an accountant so I can mock![]()
I’m sure he’ll be receiving his diversity award any day now for being non-binary in a male dominated profession.
