Catching up on the thread just left me thinking of this. Gob needs something in her life to help her heart grow.

Yep, this is it. Gobz, find your happiness. You’re not going to find it sitting in your flat and saying you hate things on the internet.

She must be lonely, it’s fair enough to say you don’t need friends or a partner, but not needing them is different to having someone you can relate to and enjoy things with, whether that’s romantic/friendship/whatever.

Finding a hobby (not Hobbie lol) would also do her a world of good. Pick something you’ve seen and thought ‘that looks fun’ and just do it! go to a class or something. I started rock climbing at 31 because it looked awesome haha, it’s great.

Also if we did “checks” to ensure that every set of parents would be 100% perfect then no one would have kids? She certainly wouldn’t. Even parents who aren’t explicitly neglectful or cold or uncaring mess up and pass little things on to their kids - but 98% of parents love their kids and do what they think is best.

A lot of good people think they'd be amazing as parents, would pass all the checks and on paper would have no problems. However, actually having a kid is very different. It's a stress like no other that can churn up all sorts of mental health issues and affect the way you parent. Postnatal depression can happen, which nobody can predict. There's no such thing as a perfect parent, but I don't think she even believes what she said.

The only reason Gabby said this at all is to again allude to having a bad childhood, as she gets off on the sympathy and probably loves toxic trauma TikTok a bit too much.

She wants to have a kid all by herself, as she’s stated before, so she will need to go through procedure after procedure (which, personally, I think is the reason she wants to do IVF). Does she honestly think that in her utilitarian ovarian utopia her entire online history: YouTube videos (even the ones she has privated/deleted), Facebook posts and all the Tweets she’s ever published would not be considered? She’s an absolute lunatic.

All children inherit some form of negativity from their parents/guardians, it’s just human nature, that’s why therapy is a good thing to experience. I fully doubt that she would encourage her child to go in to therapy, she’d taint their minds by telling them at every opportunity how “ewful” her therapist had been to her a million years ago.

See, I don't think she wants to have a kid by herself. It's all bravado, this faux independent act when we know she really can't even go to the vet without her mum. What she's saying comes from a defensive place of fear about being alone all her life. That's not a good reason to have a child.

Personally I don't think she wants children at all really, it's just a chance for her spout her "bad parents, me sad" crap.
