I think their suggestion is that they are victims like Gabby’s family - that they have lost a son as they have lost a daughter. But that conveniently ignores Brian’s crime(s) and their unwillingness to ease the pain experienced by Gabby’s family.

I don’t buy a word of it! Where that creek is you can get phone signal according to reporters out there so surely if she was hurt he would have phoned for help not just tried to help himself and then end her “suffering”. It’s so cruel he couldn’t even give her family the truth tried to make himself out to be a hero that lost a battle!

I watched the Netflix I think it was documentary about this case last night. I shook my head. Those poor parents. What an incredible spirit Gabby was. The boyfriend knew she was too good for him. The trip across the country would have broken them up. But I have to say one thing, this creation of a pastiche fake yoga balls life that they did, and many do on Instagram. Photo opportunities, eating food and photographing it first. It’s a load of balls. And in this case was a total camouflage for the domestic violence that Gabby was subject to. Instagram has too much fake contrived nonsense on it. People don’t live like that, and those who don’t feel less worthy because of these posts. The FBI and police dragging their feet not arresting Brian while they had the chance. I get that his parents tried to hide him, most parents would. But, he was a balding prematurely ageing man who was batting above his capabilities. Gabby a fountain of love and compassion now lost to the world. And she would have made a difference. She was planet conscious and loved being here. Perhaps women on these trips or in these relationships should have a safe question a loved one could text to them so that any trouble can be averted. He was clearly pretending to be her. Those policemen who had the chance to arrest him when they were reported by concerned citizens in Utah. So terribly sad.

The “burn after reading” letter has finally been handed over to the Petito’s and made public. Very weird letter. If nothing to do with Gabby, then she has an unhealthy obsession with her son, so either way, it’s very odd.

What a ducked up family
I read it and it was making me feel a bit icky. I am super soppy with my daughter and leave her random nice notes, but I felt like I was reading a note you’d leave a partner. I think it also tells you a bit about his upbringing. He’s clearly been mollycoddled and has never been taught accountability. It clearly states if you need to be punished for something (jail) I would get you out (hasn’t been taught that do the crime, so the time) and I will help you cover up your mistakes. Also Bertolino has said that the FBI had this letter “for weeks before Brian’s remains were found” but Pat Reilly said it was found IN Brian’s backpack near his remains.
