As a total aside: I Couldn’t help noticing that there’s only one thread for this and there’s soooo many for jay slater, Nicola Bulley and john George etc. Gabby’s case was the first time I saw such huge social media sleuthing but in the last 4 years things seems to have crazy with sleuthing! Obviously it being in America means us brits had less input but my entire feed seemed consumed by it at the time!
For her sake I’m glad there was a huge media presence but I’m amazed there wasn’t more chatter on here about it!
It’s so weird reading the first few pages of this thread now. And, sadly, we were literally all exactly on the money.
The cruelest thing for me (other than obviously the fact she’s dead) is that Brian’s parents definitely know far more than they’re letting on and they don’t even have the decency to give the Petitos any additional information — especially because Brian is also gone.
Two things stood out for me:
1. The Petitos sued for wrongful death and it ended in a settlement?! What didn’t his parents want getting to court?
2. Brian’s parents found both his waterproof bag and his body. I presume there was proof that they hadn’t planted the bag. And I also noticed that law enforcement were very careful to say that they were searching a massive area because it’s weird as
duck that his parents found him — and no one commented on that in the doc. They mentioned several times that his parents knew all his favourite spots, but did they not share these with law enforcement to help them with their search? If my child was missing, I would.
The whole thing is weird and I still think the police are holding things back. Maybe they’re trying to bait Brian’s parents into talking and incriminating themselves in response to the police participating in the Netflix doc?!
