Some additional details.There were rumours months ago that Alpine were offended that Ocon was being vocal about his Mercedes ties and brazenly shopping around different teams, so they decided not to renew him for next year. I dismissed these rumours at the time because it seemed like an over the top and unrealistic reaction to a driver seemingly just looking at other options...
But these current rumours may suggest there's more going on behind the scenes, especially if what Famin said on Canal wasn't just him losing his temper in the heat of the moment. Ocon was very quick to issue an apology too, he knows he fucked up big time. Jack Doohan, their reserve driver, was unexpectedly pulled away from his F1TV hosting for team duties after the race as well...
Alpine instructed the drivers not to fight before the race and Ocon disobeyed them on the first lap (along with the rumours of them alternating who gets priority at each race). He's probably the worst teammate on the grid and nothing's changed. I doubt Alpine pulls Ocon out for the rest of the season, but if all of these rumours are true (along with Ocon's proven track record with his teammates) I can kind of entertain the possibility of them benching him in Canada to send a clear message / be a wake up call. I like Jack based on what I've seen of him on F1TV and hope he gets at least one chance in F1
Esteban lost a big ally when Rossi was sacked. Laurent was the one behind his absurdly long contract and his guy in the team. Additionally, Pierre has done more to integrate himself with the people at the factory, he's visited there to speak to them multiple times this season while Esteban has been conspicuously absent. Add to that that Pierre came in last season and matched Esteban (and beat him even if it was very close) means that Alpine now have two virtually identical drivers in capability. Esteban has had a stronger start to the season but Pierre is catching up now so he's losing that advantage.
Critically, while I'm sure Pierre's people are also negotiating in the driver market, he has publically not commented on that and has continued to say that being at a works team is a priority for him. Contrast with Esteban being so open about wanting to leave for Merc (again understandable). But now the management have two drivers, one of whom is clearly waiting to jump ship and the other who's trying to be a team player.
Esteban has always sucked at playing the media game. He should have kept his head down and negotiated in the background while also staying in Alpine's good graces so worst comes to worst he could stay there another season. His stupidity means Pierre comes off looking amazing and now other teams will be more reluctant to consider him. If Merc and Audi don't take him, he's in a bad spot negotiation wise

Did she pick you to be her spokeswoman? Did she at least offer you some compensation? I find this seriously sad; those rumors didn't happen just out of nothing and her going to a gossip page for this is just simply unbelievable. So guess she manipulated her "fans" and now she thinks she can manipulate the other half?this one from the last thread as well

I’m gonna be honest even though it pains me but Becky was looking really pretty today. I don’t know if it’s the longer hair or if her Botox/fillers wore off a bit but she looks good.

While he has every right to be annoyed with Ocon, I will say that he should maybe remember that when he was responsible for taking them both out of good points positions in Australia last year, Ocon refused to put him down to the media. Espcially as Esteban's silence was mainly to help Gasly avoid getting a penalty and deserved penalty points.Gasly is giving the I’m not angry just disappointed thing that my parents always gave me and it was 100% worse then anger
Ocon's definitely a bad teammate when it comes to on-track battles but Pierre is the only one who has been stirring things up via the media for quite a while now, with lots of passive-aggressive digs. Add to that his supposed behaviour toward his mechanics at Red Bull and the temper tantrums we saw at times at Toro Ross/AT.
They're as bad as each other in my opinion, just in different ways. I doubt anyone's rushing to be teammates with either of them. Even Yuki might not find Pierre quite so accomodating now that Yuki has stepped up his game as much as he has.

But how is he a leader? I’m not even just being a hater here, I think he’s a good driver but he talks out of his backside when it comes to car development, he gives even Toto a run for his money when it comes to delusion, and most races he insists on a strategy that’s beneficial to no one. I actually think Totos well aware he is not That Guy and is panicking a bit now, honestly
