This is actually quite sad when you think about it. At least Carlos Snr will always remain the hottest and most successful Carlos SainzIt's such a good example of someone torpedo-ing their own career
I’m not so sure about McLaren. Zak is money and sponsor obsessed - no one is more conducive to that than Lewis. I’m not saying they’d break either drivers contract, but if one of theirs was up and he came calling I think they’d give him the time of day. Red Bull is a different story, they historically have never had 2 top driversThing is though, I'm pretty sure Red Bull would have said thanks but no thanks.
I know it's Lewis, but I doubt they want anything upsetting what they have with Max rn.
I know people thinks everyone must want Lewis if he came calling but I'm really not so sure that's entirely true, despite all his accolades. I don't think RB would be interested. I also don't think McLaren would willingly swap out either of their pair for him, they have their own long-term plans that revolve around Norris and Piastri. That's no disrespect to Lewis, but I don't think he would fit either of those teams' plans.
Ferrari on the other hand, well it's kind of an opportune moment for them. They've already locked in the driver they wanted, they clearly weren't too bothered about Carlos and didn't want him long-term, they obviously have plans for Bearman in the medium-term - Lewis as a bit name, big splash signing and bringing all his experience with him probably worked for them and for Lewis, if he wanted out of Merc well it was probably his only other top 4 team option.
His team is on overdrive trying to salvage whatever he has rn. Bet those discussions were “why the f did we hire an escort to be his pretend gf”Girlfriend

All in less than a year.
Although I'm still hoping this all is going to have some positive and interesting outcome that noone really expects for him, but right now he looks like an idiot.
I also find it hard to believe that Lewis would go to Red Bull while Helmut is thereI’m not so sure about McLaren. Zak is money and sponsor obsessed - no one is more conducive to that than Lewis. I don’t think that's an unpopular opinion........
estie v george scrap in the sandlot, I'd pay good money for that
YESSSSSSSSSSky are at Mercedes HQ …
No sorry, I still don't think McLaren would let either Norris or Piastri go willingly if they wanted to stay just for the sake of having Lewis back for a year or so. McLaren are not stupid, they know what they have in their current line-up.I’m not so sure about McLaren. Zak is money and sponsor obsessed - no one is more conducive to that than Lewis. Poor Elmo SM team got trauma dumped now by thousands yesterday
Agree to disagree because I never thought ferrari would go for him tbhNo sorry, I still don't think McLaren would let either Norris or Piastri go willingly if they wanted to stay just for the sake of having Lewis back for a year or so. I know people love to characterise Zak as only caring about money and sponsors but that's not really true, he is a racer and a motorsports lover at heart, and has put a hell of a lot into resurrecting McLaren from where they were in 2017 - which is where the whole money and sponsor-obsessed meme comes from. I will never understand what is supposedly so bad about getting so many sponsors on board, especially as he has openly talked about why they choose to go for multiple sponsors rather than a title sponsor for the present, after what happened ot them prviously, but F1 fans are just weird quite honestly in what they choose to go for someone about). He does what he believes is best for the team and sorry but I really don't think that he would thinkthat would be Lewis in place of either Norris or Piastri, any more than I think Ferrari would willingly have parted with Leclerc for him. Sainz is a different story because he was never really seen as their 'future'.
If one of them chose to leave, meaning McLaren were forced to find a replacement, then that would be a different story and yes I could definitely see them taking Lewis back for a year or two in that scenario.
I'm relying on this thread to keep me updated cause I'm being expected to actually work todaySky are at Mercedes HQ …
If they were replacing Charles, then I would agree with you lolAgree to disagree because I never thought ferrari would go for him tbh
I still think it’s dumb really. Sky are saying they’re hearing it’d be a multi year deal, and he’s looking at the 2026 regs. Which would make NO senseIf they were replacing Charles, then I would agree with you lol
How rude xI'm being expected to actually work today
I know!! Pack of pricksHow rude x
