Here’s to the 2023 AM line up 🥂😂 probably the most random driver pairing (also I’m expecting great awkwardness between them)
View attachment 1556844

Also, Yuki has a 10 place grid penalty in Monza afaik for exceeding the number of reprimands a drivers is allowed per season 😭
It's okay, that combine harvester of an AT, he will only be going back a couple of places.

i thought that too! credit to george for being assertive. it’ll be an interesting debrief though, what with lewis just stalking past george on the footage. i like lewis for the most part but he’s such a sore loser.
Yeah he is a terrible loser, mainly because Mercedes never allowed Bottas to challenge him (apart from a couple of token times when it was actually inconsequential). George said it is almost impossible to do a restart on used tyres so why didn’t Lewis also know that? He was banking on George defending for him.

Am I overthinking it or has Lando purposefully said he’ll be offline for a week as he knows an announcement is imminent and he doesn’t know what to say?!

Just seen the news about Nyck too! Interesting. I always thought he would stay a Toto man but I suppose Williams did get Alex from RB so they may owe them a favour? 😅
merc/williams definitely owe them a favour and this is only good news hopefully for pierre but i don’t know how i would feel if i was in red bull’s HUGE talent pool of junior drivers. helmut is basically out here saying none of them are good enough, to the point that they were trying to grab a random indycar driver who didn’t even have the right licence!

red bull - destroying young drivers’ confidence since 2005.

honestly, that sounds like we could have our own tv show 🤣

“crying into croissants corner with aidil and lablonde: no hope, just vibes”

That is interesting. Makes sense as it looked so easier for Max -even with the tyres.

The steering wheels seem so complicated. I saw an article yesterday where Pierre said he had to change to a certain mode to change parameters as a precaution after Yuki's retirement during the race. It involved 20+ pushing of whatever buttons on the wheel while driving.

Seb seems like he would be a great commentator. Witty, intelligent and great technical info (which I need!). He is giving the impression though that he's so over F1 at the moment.
At least Pierre had a lot of practice with his hands over summer break 👀🤣 But that’s absolutely wild!

I would adore seeing Seb in a punditry role. He’s so eloquent, thoughtful and seems to be an encyclopaedia of F1 knowledge. Such a shame he seems so done with the sport, he’s going to be so missed. And here we are, stuck with greasy Nico in his Bond villain lair instead.

we’re losing a lot of people on this last race it seems (not seb, i’m still in denial about that 😭)

Can I just say it’s so lovely to see so much sense being spoken on this thread tonight? I’ve been really disheartened over some of the stuff I’ve seen online regarding F1 the last week, including the other thread. It’s great to see some proper discussion that doesn’t involve ripping someone to shreds for something they can’t change or making up rumours.

I don’t envy these drivers at all. None of them signed up for this level of scrutiny and DTS made the sport’s popularity explode so quickly that they’ve had no time to adjust to the level of fame!
Hey we are sensible 🤣😂
Just drool over drivers, think of many things we could do to them 😜
But most of the we are sensible 😉

Off we go again. Sebastian Vettel has stunned us with the news of his impending retirement. Max leads the driver’s championship. We are in Budapest for the Hungarian GP (Round 13) which is the last race before the summer break.

Hello 👀 was in the other F1 thread for a long time but did not enjoy the vibe there recently, so I thought I’ll come and say hi here as I love F1 too much to stay away and my dear @aidil told me she’s here too!

My favourite driver is Alex, I do like every other driver too though, but I have a soft spot for Daniel, Pierre, Esteban and Charles, also Lando (occasionally - sometimes more, sometimes less).

Can’t wait for Monza, saw that it might rain and even storm! 🫣👀
a friend of @aidil is a friend of mine! welcome 😘

i have a big soft spot for alex too, i’m glad to see him back and doing well for williams. i hope he wears that adorable helmet with his pets on again, we didn’t get to see it properly at silverstone!

i love rainy races so 🤞🏻

Alex on IG aiming for Singapore but has only started to walk about the past couple of days. I think Nick will be back🤞for more Williams points for him.
Yes. The way he worded his update with 'aim high' and 'demanding track' makes me think that he doesn't think he'll be ready.

I love how understated Alex is. “Had a slight incident” aka NEARLY DIED. These F1 drivers are something else 😂
I'm sure other drivers have done similar, but Pierre's 1st win in GP2 was with a broken vertebrae after the day that car crash with his mother. Craziness.

I think that’s right, he shouldn’t be fast tracked for a super license when other people have theirs could get a chance. I do fear it means they won’t let Pierre leave though
Seems fair to me that Herta shouldn't be fast-tracked. It does seem like people are questioning whether Indy car should get super license points as it currently is at the same level as F3 (?). I say people because I don't follow IndyCar, but to me it does seem like it should be eligible for more points, but the FIA want to protect their feeder series.

L'Équipe are reporting that de Vries is going to Alpha Tauri. Didn't see that one coming if it happens.

It seems credible at this point, but it's F1. So who knows. We've seen Alpine announce someone who is driving for McLaren.

Wild that Nyck deVries might be the next AT driver or even get get a F1 seat. Definitely did not see that one coming last week. Is he on Marcus Ericsson's prediction list? I have to go check.

I'm excited for the possibility of two Norman drivers at a historically Norman team. Of course, it could be a total disaster. I did read someone saying that they can't wait for Pierre & Esteban to ace those 'how well do you know your teammate' quizzes and hating themselves for it. 😆
