I think they are very young and still early in their respective careers. When they are fighting for titles in a few years time, it will be interesting to see if they can remain friends. I don’t think they can. Could be wrong.

I really don't mean to moderate this thread, and if that's the case please be free to report the post. But I feel like this thread was made to be more sport centric, and it's been a lot of thirst postz (a little is always welcome I'm not judging) and tired memes lately from people to take refuge from the other thread. Not really the discussion we usually have.
It's not a big deal, just an opinion.

That Mercedes’ second seat is such a mystery to me, I think toto wants a perez/bottas driver to fill that seat when Lewis goes, he definitely doesn’t want a Lewis-nico situation again and I think George-Lewis works because George knows he’ll be the lead in a few years. Pierre and Esteban would both want to challenge I think, and este hasn’t been the friendliest with other teammates. That said Toto seems loyal to him so maybe though Pierre would be more deserving in that seat imho. But maybe este more suited as he’s ~consistent~ and could possibly be put in his box a little, idk

daniel makes me sad I so want him to get that alpine seat but I don’t see it happening, I think haas would be great with the marketability/American love but I think this year will be bye-bye. I’m gutted

i completely agree i also fully agree that esteban would probably be the easier choice - he has a link with toto and is seen as more consistent and an “easier” driver than pierre (all mentally beaten from red bull) would be. they ultimately will be looking for another bottas for george but they’re never gonna find one!

fully agree on daniel i just hope we see him around in another capacity.

what are your thoughts on danny ricc? i’m inclined to think he’s running out of time and there’s no seats left

It seems like he's running out of options to me too. In my (uneducated ) opinion, taking a year out seems like the end of his F1 career to me. I would love to see him on the grid next year. At first, it seemed like he was open to a less competitive seat, but I saw something that said he was open to a 'project' team now. Didn't verify anything in that article though.

Oh no. Poor Alex. Just saw his post. Glad he's okay. Had watched an clip of him last night post practice yesterday where he was excited for the weekend with opportunities for him with their pace & the grid penalties.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nyck De Vries race.

i like alex so much and am sad for him, but also really excited to see de vries! i know he probably wishes it was under better circumstances but what an opportunity for him.

So sad French GP is gone yet USA is allowed to have three races. You can see they’re going where the money is…

Don’t mind too much if they have three races but the fact 2 of them are 90% corporate packages and the remaining tickets are stupidly overpriced (and on terrible tracks) feels unfair. COTA is great and well priced for American fans and it’s a shame so many of them will miss out despite there being more races. If it was priced for fans then cool but it’s so blatantly only for money

Alpine we’re going to loan Oscar to Williams for the year and supposedly he even had a seat fitting with them…

Keep in mind that Oscar still has an FP1 session to do this year with Alpine.

He is bringing the drama this silly season.

i was wondering about his fp1 session! surely that can’t go ahead now with all this, but i would absolutely love if it did.

helmut’s comments about pierre yesterday kinda made me sad too. basically saying he has to stay as red bull third choice because no one else can do it - free him from rb, they’re wrecking his career (and obligatory, free charles from ferrari because i need to include that in all my posts)

The thing is yes 4 teams contacted Daniel, but he would have to take a pay cut. Note sure if it's worth it. I don't see him at Williams (God forbid), Haas is a bit of a smaller team, Alpine meh.. I'm really just sitting here reading every Google alert concerning him lol. We're probably more stressed than him tbh
