Not sure how I feel about being the same wave length as Karen Horner, especially on the last paragraph - below from BBC Sport article:


Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, whose drivers finished one-two in the race, said: "The easiest thing is to raise the car. You have a choice where to run your car and you should never run a car that is unsafe.

"Some cars have issues and some have very few issues. It would seem unfair to penalise those who have done a decent job versus those who have missed the target slightly."

Horner admitted that if his car were causing as much of a problem as the Mercedes: "I would tell (the drivers) to witch as much as they could over the radio and make as big an issue as they could. It's part of the game.

A bit like his “Bono these tyres are done” radio messages which always seem to come one lap before he sets a purple.
George is taller so in theory should struggle more but was fine. I think it does hurt (no doubt) but Lewis is doing a bit of PR spin too.

We said exactly the same thing. I'm sure it is uncomfortable, other drivers have corroborated that, but the Old Man Lewis routine getting out of the car? Nah 😂

If it’s that difficult for him to get out of the car is it even safe for him to be driving? Could he get out of the car quickly if there was a crash or the engine caught fire?

Very good point! Surely this would need to be considered a factor for Lewis getting back into the car?

I suspect in that instance adrenaline would just take over and he could get himself far enough away to then wait for further assistance. Obviously no safe way to test those reactions though. Toto needs to consider the safety of his driver over the lap time.

I’m sure there used to be a test where the fia stood with a timer and if a driver couldn’t get out within so many seconds they couldn’t drive. I remember someone coming back from injury (maybe Michael) and they showed him being timed.
Agree though that Lewis was probably putting it on a bit and in an emergency would jump out quicker.

To be fair, Lewis is one of the richest people in sport right now. Even if he is in absolute agony, he can probably afford the best of the best to make sure he's fighting fit for Sunday. Merc just needs to get their heads around this porpoising!

Agreed. I get making sure FIA know how "bad" it is bit its affecting others too. Mercedes need to sort this issue not the FIA. Lewis will drive in Canada 💯.
Like you said with his money he could retire now.

He had on Instagram that he's already had acupuncture and physio. Rather jealous because when I done my back in I had to wait days before I could even get through to my doctors reception!!

I wouldn’t mind some of that physio too after carrying dogs around all day at work 😂

It’ll be interesting to see what the long term effects of the porpoising issues are. I worry about neurological issues in a few years time with their poor heads being thrown about so violently!
