Catching up so sorry to bring it back to this but hallelujah! Never been into Star Wars and our dickhead friends relished having Star War rounds in zoom quizzes at the start of lockdown and mocked my partner and I mercilessly for never watching them. It’s just not our thing . Also their constant insistence that we ‘had to’ watch them put me off.

But I loved the LOTR/Hobbit films (have read the books years ago but not so familiar with them) and a Potter geek (books especially - love the illustrated versions).

[Edited, because I had a chaos]

Also, woke up starving and with the thought of eggy bread in my head. So voila. Such a healthy breakfast chez Flump. This amount of sugar should get us through the day though (not a nutritionist).

@Flumps Do you happen to do deliveries?

I legit need this in my life right now, I have fallen in to an absolutely foul mood, and this does seem like a potential cure.

A cafe opened up not far from me a couple of weeks ago and it had these peanut butter brownies that were just the best thing I’ve ever eaten. It was probably pure butter, but they were the gooiest, most glorious slabs. I had one when it opened but every time I’ve walked past since, they’ve not had any in stock. It’s like I’ve had a taste of the good life and now they’re taunting me by refusing to make any more. So anyway, my lunchtime plan is to march down again, fingers tightly crossed, and hope they’ve got brownies galore today. Wish me luck, fraus!

Well, my sage is all over the place, huge and scraggly, in need of a good trim... but I daresay still not as unruly as the legendary notorious labia of which you speak.
My rosemary bush (hehe) is gargantuan atm and my mint plant has a mind of its own.

Forgot to chime in on LOTR, ooh the things I would do to Aragon. I was only 10 when the fellowship of the ring came out and I think he was one of my first crushes.

Fraus who like Biscoff - I tried the new Lotus Biscoff sandwich creams yesterday - they're pretty good! A little small but not as thin as Oreos, and better than their plain Lotus biscoff biscuits.

I feel all of this! Small talk is very draining, and makes my social interaction battery run down quickly.

He’s also bloody brilliant in Captain Fantastic if anyone is into slightly depressing indie films.
Loved that film! I think 'slightly depressing indie films' is my favourite genre

Never been into LOTR really but when I saw the first film as a little girl I thought Legolas was so beautiful I dropped my popcorn

We have pizza booked tonight and I cannot wait - they've only just reopened again after COVID. Handmade from scratch, cooked in a wood-fired oven and possibly the only place in the world you can get a smoked venison and haggis pizza.

I stupidly made brownies with my toddler - which meant policing the mixing bowl to make sure he didn’t eat all the chocolate (or the raw egg - which he loves ) and then getting hot and bothered as I forgot how flipping hot it is today! But they came out good - he even put ‘chocolate worms’ (curly wurly pieces) on top and I bribed him with a couple along the way. Recipe was from an old Usbourne Kids cooking book so lots of sugar! Plan to sit in front of a fan and melt for the rest of the day now.

This made me hoot! Also reminded me of when I answered the door when my son was a newborn and not understanding the wide eyed look the postman was giving me until I sat back down on the sofa. In my sleep deprived state I hadn’t clipped the nursing bra back up so my boob was hanging out for all to see!

that happened to me too with the Sainsbury’s delivery man. I couldn’t order from them again until I moved house I was so embarrassed

I'm incredibly envious of all of this cake talk! I have no biscuits, no cake, and I'm incredibly sad and mostly grumpy about this.

I did however just spend nearly £60 on cookbooks, so #Winning!

Thank you for all of your suggestions earlier.

Spending the day in front of the TV and fan. I hate really hot weather. Currently watching Tom Kerridge’s new Barbecue programme on Food Network. I love Tom but his recipes aren’t quite in my budget so I watch them purely for the food porn aspect.

Babe, same. I highly recommend The Way, Way Back, Peanut Butter Falcon and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. The other half describes them as “films where not a lot happens” but I love them. Simple movies that follow a character for a certain timeframe of their life without an action-packed middle or big ending.

Not exactly just cooking, but no reservations with Anthony bourdain is great, most of them are on YouTube. I’ve seen them all before but have been re watching min lockdown as a form of travel escapism

Hunt for the Wilderpeople is one of my favourite films I'll check out the other two, thank you! I like understated films where not a lot seems to happen - more time for thinking.

Thanks, I’m going to look that up. I love Anthony Bourdain and I’ve binged all of Parts Unknown on Netflix. I also love Somebody Feed Phil and Ugly, Delicious for my travel/foodie fix.

oh but Jamie uses both of these to make a sort of chicken gyro that is heaven - I cant remember if you’re veggie but obvs halloumi and mushrooms could work?

Oh that sounds gorgeous, thank you! I am not a veggie but try and eat mostly veggie in the house! Will have a look at Jamie's recipe cache.

A lot of these crisp flavours are really repeating on me. Feel like we're really going around in circles now.

Agree re some crisps being a bit too circular.

There were no brownies again! I’m beginning to think I imagined them that opening week. Maybe it was all a dream.

Like a fever dream? You’ll have to reverse engineer those brownies, it will be so maverick.
