Nope it's a david attenborough one but tbh i find bugs really interesting so i might 'accidentally' put that on at some point - what channel?!
ITV - it’s the Prince William documentary and he officially opened Bugingham Palace in the programme. It’s almost over. Edit - it finishes at 1030.

Sorry I’m late tonight, didn’t David Blaine say he’d never come back to the UK after his box stunt finished because people were flying McDonald’s passed his box? He wasn’t best pleased not that I can ever recall him looking happy or pleased if I’m honest.

I’m sulking because although I normally cook from scratch I bought some new Vivera Kievs (fancy) and one for tea with chips and they weren’t even nice. So I could have just made the smoky split pea stew I was planning and felt smug and healthy instead
The m&s plant kitchen Kievs are absolutely banging! I got them yellow stickered first go but happily pay the nearly £4 for them now. Really worth it!!

I think the worst thing about this thread is how often I want a McDonald’s brekko now, I feel like David Blaine 😭😭😭

True crime enjoying fraus, anyone else seen "The Family Next Door" on Netflix? I watched it last night and was gobsmacked at the amount of footage they had 😮 It was very good but wasn't expecting to see so much caught on film.
Yeah it's really disturbing (not the amount of footage but the family annihilation). It's amazing that someone can seem like a normal person for so long, living a normal life, when there's actually no emotion there, he's like a void, like not a human being at all? But I guess that's what psychopaths are like and you don't know until it's too late? Just horrifying and terrifying. I was really impressed with her friend who realised something terrible had happened about 2 hours after she went missing! And how she was just glaring at Chris while he was pretending to be normal. And also by the neighbour, who immediately noticed that Chris was acting weird.
ETA I'm going to watch the Shipman thing this week too, need to build myself up to it.

They're SO good. I was gutted when Morrisons stopped selling their veggie kievs, but the M&S ones are even better.

I'm finding that there seem to be a lot more of these sorts of interactions at the moment. Like more shared humanity if that makes any sense. It is possible, though, that I am just turning into my mother and am more likely to strike up conversations with random people, because I feel like it, and I'm leaving them with the impression of a mild eccentric who isn't getting out enough. NB @Pocahontas - not that I think your encounter had that impression!

Thanks for the plague-child wishes. She says she feels better today though I can hear her sneezing and coughing, but she had lots of sleep and we've the excitement of a digital thermometer arriving later so she can complusively take her temperature approx 12 billion times (sometimes it's all too clear how related we are). Bless her, she did have a bit of a sob last night, despite my reassurances that I don't believe it is Covid, because she was worried it might be, not so much for her, more for me and because she saw the gparents recently too. But she's much more cheerful this morning.

I definitely didnt have a lovely morning - id already told the youngest id put him in the bin by 8am 🥴 (dont worry, both boys find it hilarious to say theyll put us/each other in the bin. Im not a dreadful mother)

I came to a friends house after the school run and shes filled me up with dosa & chutney 🥰. So now I want a nap!

Oh that sounds like a good friend!

I've just got home from a flying visit to Lidl, had an appointment at 12 which has since been cancelled. I'm pleased though as I can potter about the house and get bits done now. First thing I'm doing this morning is making sloe gin ☺

@Pocahontas thats so lovely!!! Aww you probably brightened her day too (and definitely the corgi's!) Love these little moments of human interaction atm

@Flumps so happy to hear flumps jr is on the mend! What a horrible thing for her to go through, she sounds like a very sensitive/empathetic person, to be worrying about you and her grandparents like that.

Poor kids, i feel so awful for them all, teens and little ones alike.

Speaking if infants. I see trump has learned absolutely nothing from contracting covid...

Could you go to her house with your own flask and have a cuppa with her outside?

If I ever got a dog I’d love to call it Pippin 💕

I’m making the Vietnamese caramelised pork tonight as I am influenced by you lot- I’m so looking forward to it!

and lastly I started watching Emily in Paris on Netflix today and my god it is full of crap French cliches. Even me, a Francophile who lives for a Parisian cliche, found it too much!

Freezing here today so I’ve bunged some jacket spuds in the oven to have with cheese and beans. Simple belly warming grub.

we’re getting closer to the bum mint thread

oh wow gorgeous car! I used to have a green beetle many decades ago (🔺) She was not minty fresh though!

I don’t speak the local dialect well enough to chat casually to the neighbours. It makes me really sad. I do try but I am total rubbish - I understand what is being said but when I try to reply, I fail miserably. I miss just having random chats.

Back on topic: I am away for a few days with my SB and we will be eating pizza tonight.

@Jay-cloth Cow how are you doing today? I remember being quite sore for a few days after. Hope you are surviving the comedown from the painkillers!!
