I just ❤love❤ his tube moquette scarves (as well as everything else) and him doing stuff like this

for the unfamiliar, I'm talking about the dude on the right in this pic

View attachment 1422428
He bring such joy to the screen and clearly loves his job 😄 I must admit that me and my dad both have a variety of moquette socks, they are awesome and from the London Transport Museum online shop. They even do Christmas jumpers both for adults and kids. I have this one...

Thinking about jumpers is making me feel hot. Not looking forward to going to work tomorrow and wearing uniform 🥵

Do any of you rate cool pads or cooling blankets at all? One of the mini Bellends has sensory issues, and is really struggling to keep cool because he doesn’t like white noise or the sensation of a fan on his skin. He hates the heat and he also hates not wearing clothes so it’s a bit of a battle at the moment 😬 Any advice warmly/coolly welcomed, Dear Hearts!
In my experience , cooling blankets are not very effective when compared to a dampened compression blanket , or even a normal sheet. Pillow cooling mats put between the pillow and case help getting to sleep without being too strong a cold sensation but laying/sitting on a cooling mat can be quite an odd sensation, almost squishy and damp .

Clothes designed to provide spf protection often are very good at wicking away sweat to make you feel cooler and more comfortable.they also tend to be quite form fitting which can give regulating input if that’s part of preferring to wear clothes .

bladeless fans are a much quieter, almost silent in some cases, and what noise there is is less intense. They also tend to give a general cool rather than the focused breeze a normal fan has , which might be tolerable for mini bellend

I didn’t want to derail the MT, but omg I want a Welsh Rarebit now too!

And going back to ice creams, mini milks were amazing. I don’t really like ice lollies or ice creams, but I love 99s, full on Mr Whippy with a flake. I love that there’s no dignified or polite way to eat them.

LOVE extreme couponers, I don't know why, especially when all the stuff they buy is tit, like gatorade and crackers most of the time, and I also feel awful for the checkout staff :ROFLMAO: I watch laods of random mukbang stuff, and then google the menus they got the food from to see what I would eat (usually nothing as it is junk food I don't like :ROFLMAO:)
I also love this youtube channel about a mortician https://www.youtube.com/c/AskAMortician
I was too scared to google the word mukbang for ages incase it was some dodgy porn thing 😂

Hooray for useful injections! Hopefully they will work for whatever needs fixing 👍
How do you put stuff in “spoiler”s on here?

Slight derail on medical question: I have a gene which means I have a slightly increased risk of a possibly fatal blood clot that can happen during pregnancy/birth. Didn’t think after IVF I’d be having yet more injections 😅 but as I said it’s hopefully saving my life so I’ll take it 😊. Just makes me look forward even more to what feels like the most wished for baby in the world finally getting here 🙂

Woke up to rain. Feel like the weather is saying F you to the met office. We are showing you you really don’t have a clue.

I too am having weather panic. Not only about the heat but also about the thunderstorms on Wednesday causing flooding. Laminated list peeps, laminated list. I read that firepeople are trying to save a 3000 year old sequoia in Yosemite from a wildfire. I can’t even express what that makes me feel.

The cat situation got worse last night. Came home from my Saturday thing to find the less resilient one lying on the road looking awful. She is normally flighty and won’t let you near her. She accepted cuddles but didn’t respond. We only had tuna- left over from a parental visit (not sure dog food was suitable) which she ate and then slumped back. Owner has gone away but also gone through lots of life changes and the other cat found a family to look after him but she is just in the road all the time. She can get in round the back of all the terraces but didn’t seem like she had the energy to. After tears, we decided to call on another neighbour who was nearer her house and could pop her through the back (we can’t- too many brambles). We think she is depressed but have no idea what to do. Terrified about Monday/Tuesday. She can’t come in, she will be so scared of Tunnel dog. Why do people, if they find a new person decide that their pets are expendable? We are the only people in our pets’ lives- they cannot tell us what is wrong. So, so cross.

How to for spoilers:
At the top of the text box click on the button with the three dots and the upside down triangle…select either ‘Spoiler’ or ‘Inline spoiler’ then write your text in between the closed brackets. If you select ‘Spoiler’ you’ll need to name it something. Hope that helps.

when the cat we had in my childhood was near the end of her life, she took to constantly laying in the road. Wasn't too much of an issue as it's very quiet and rural here, but it was very out of character for her, almost like she was deliberately putting herself in dangers way, if you get what I mean 😔

Thank you so much for saying this. When we finally made the decision about Tunnel cat, it was him lying like this that tipped us over. It was though he said “now is the time”. I know I am anthropomorphising horribly here and I hate doing it, but our animals are so precious.

Hoping everyone is holding up. I dipped into the MT, decided it was better over here and on the other threads moaning on about the runners getting free garmins😂. Just to say, I agree with the final sentiments being expressed ❤ CL.

Stay cool everyone apart from our Aussie friends who need to stay dry and warm.

I got my 44 year old boisterous brother to have a dig around at my parents’ house in Wales and take some pics, and I have a little treat for you, Sidey B! Also to be enjoyed by any/all the other hot and cold fraus, though sadly it is not a Willy Wonka-style magical cooling and heating ice lolly

Spoilering so I don’t clog up the thread

Thank you, that’s really helpful. We do have a blameless fan (completed it, mate 😉🤣), but he doesn’t like the feel of it on his skin, even when it’s not anywhere near him 🙄 Brilliant advice on the wicking clothes, I’ll look into that. Mrs B (who says hello!) is also looking into bamboo clothing as that’s meant to be cooler??

Quoting myself like a twit because a blameless fan is actually quite amusing 😂

Nice to see you again Billy! And can I say how lovely it is you are letting your employees have a few days off - I'm sure they will repay you over time. I too try to pay things forward, it's a great way to acknowledge help you've had in the past.

I'm a fan of bamboo clothing. Mostly underwear / socks but have a couple of tops. I think it is cooler than cotton and certainly doesn't retain odour when you are warm in the same way. It feels like cotton, a soft brushed type. If he'll tolerate a cotton top it's worth a try.

Any office/ WFH types had any HR guidance for tomorrow? We've had none, but I feel I ought to tell the guys in my team just to take breaks if they need it - for a cool shower as example. I'm thinking if we all just put in the team chat AFK or whatever, everyone knows you are taking 10-15 minutes.

Thanks MCM that's a good idea. I don't think she'll like it but I'll give it a go if she looks like she's struggling. There's an extra bowl of water in the bedroom which I'm sure I will inevitably kick over at some point. My freezer is now also full of ice packs I originally got for my shoulder physio which if she doesn't appreciate them, I certainly will. Overheating is a massive migraine trigger so I'm just going to lay in front of a fan, drink alcohol-free beer and eat Cornettos as someone took me in their big car to the Tesco Extra.

Sideboard Cat when I ask her to stop laying in the direct sun:

Click here only if you are MCM, if you are a UK-based frau, do not click here before Wednesday at the earliest. 😀
So the pics don’t make you feel even colder, imagine them to be magical heat-blowing fans

Free garmins?! God I'm glad I don't follow any running threads here, I love my garmin but it was expensive as duck (and I destroyed its battery life on a long-distance hike and had to buy a new one far sooner than anticipated). Influencers getting free ones might lead me to spontaneously combust in this heat.

I don’t think it’s going to be as hot for us up north but we’ve had none either. I think they’ll be a fight between departments over who gets the fan.

In response to the car stuff, Lurker Cat has taken to lying on the floor looking sorry for herself...I'm going to hope that's cos of the heat and not because she's about to kick the bucket 😺

Sorry! Tunnel cat was ill. I think neighbourcat is lacking interaction.

We've not had hot hot weather today (I'm currently on the sofa with a blanket ) but it feels like it's fixing to thunder. I'm not sure if it's the high pressure or what but I feel like I'm brewing a migraine and/or a big cry. Send emergency crispos.
