I want to try and remember this without looking it up. Were nobbly bobbles the ones that had a clown face, and a little bubblegum ball at the bottom of the cone?

@traumatised sideboard Ice party it is! Good thinking 😎
I think that was a screwball (not allowed obviously- chewing gum was made by the same person who commissioned ITV and Grange Hill).

@colouredlines those pistachio ones look like they would be on a par with the m and s coconut ones. I haven’t seen them here sadly.

Warm hugs MCM- hug the Fluff. Hug. The. Fluff.

Thank you all for your kind words. Spending time on here and on the running threads means I can “see” you all without having the bad Jack effects. You are all so thoughtful with what you wrote. I wish I could say more, I really could. ❤

Slightly off topic for the MT but Krish Mate was brilliant on the Last Leg.

Congratulations to you @EllaEm87. May you never never encounter my narc sibling in Devon! You have such a great career ahead of you making a difference to people every day. Unlike we corporate IT idiots.

Even this was not anonymous, no-one needs a pic of me. See if you can spot which one of us had a hard week at the laptop and who chased a fly for a few minutes then got tired / bored.

Going to crack out the American 64oz insulated "mug" for the weekend & Monday. By lucky coincidence, it takes one full bottle of wine and a full tray of John Lewis deep tray ice cubes. These are (forgive me) God tier ice cubes and I have 4 trays for rotation.
I am rubbish at getting ice cube trays in without spilling, I use the bags, you can fold them, they take up less room, so get more in

Lots of love to all canalers on this hot/cold Sloppurday ❤❤❤ (@traumatised sideboard --Landslide (drum n bass mix) has just come on here!)

Fact fans: the word 'slop' dates back to the mid-16th century and comes from 'slushy mud' - early sightings of a puddle, perhaps? And cow dung. One for the 1578 truthers.

Ah, these create massive cubes and have lots of space at the top to avoid spillage. You twist them to free the ice so it doesn't fly everywhere.

I've got some of those silicone moulds to make huge spheres and they are a nightmare. But given the weather, every tray and ice pack will be ready for tomorrow!

Sounds suspiciously like what we called a Bubble O'Bill..but the bubblegum was his nose.
Used to love these as a child as we were never allowed bubblegum so this was a sneaky way to get it 😂 gum in an ice cream is such a bizarre concept really 😂

I’m trying to work out which items of my freezer I can either eat or discard in order to fit some ice cube trays in. I’ve only a small freezer and one drawer is completely frozen over so I can’t even open it 🤦‍♀️ It’s an slimline intergrated fridge freezer built into a cupboard and it’s the bain of my existence. Can only defrost it when the fridge is empty, and it makes a mess because it drips into the cupboard so I have to put towels down . It needs replacing really but I’m in a first floor flat so I’d have to pay someone to come and uninstall it . Tempted to get a new one and keep them both, like old Jacky 3 fridge/freezers 😂

I’m dreading Monday/Tuesday. Aside from the heat, epilepsy and nausea combo, my home is a bit ( ok very) cluttered due to lights been off for a while and not getting back on top of it yet. I’m paranoid that the sun is going to come in through the window and set fire to some of my cardboard boxes, or spiderwebs . The flat next to me is currently empty so again, I’m convinced a fire is going to start on there and no one would know 🤦‍♀️

on the plus side,Sir Matt of forearms is wearing a pink shirt with rolled up sleeves on todays Saturday kitchen, and is looking rather handsome 😎

Integrated anything is such a pain in the tits. It's for people who get a new kitchen every five years I'm convinced. I say this as a person who has a fridge freezer in the corner of the dining room because I refused to bend over to get the milk out every time I wanted a cup of tea when I moved into this house 6 months pregnant.

Thank you everyone, I’m feeling the love 🥰

I’m doing a rotational posting as I don’t really know where I want to go! I’ll be doing 6 months on a renal/ transplant ward, 6 months on a gastro/ HPB surgical ward then 6 months in ED. I got to chose those specialities and I much prefer surgical to medical. Following 6 months of ED I can go back to anywhere I was previously, stay where I am or chose something completely new in the same trust as a permanent placement. It’s all so exciting!
Congratulations...those are a great selection of specialties to be working on and will put you in good position for permanent position
I qualified as RGN 32 yrs ago and have worked in a variety of specialties all over the U.K. ...
before nursing I'd actually graduated with a Geography degree, but the death of my father 2 days before my 21st birthday made me reevaluate my life and career choices
Started off on Coronary care /HDU, then moved to medical receiving unit/HPB , followed by 5 years in renal dialysis ( where I became a patient educator for home dialysis ), then after a gap of several years to raise my family and having to do a return to practice course , I ended up working Haemo/Oncology day Unit - which fitted in perfectly with family life as it was 9-5 Mon- Fri
been specialist nurse for last 15 years and love the variety of my job and I'm always learning!
However I'm hoping to retire in a couple of years as my own health isn't too great and want to enjoy my retirement while I can!
we need more nurses, so wish you well in your very rewarding career

omg, I'm the same! our spare room is full of crap and there's no curtains in there, so I'm convinced it's gonna get so hot in there that something's gonna set alight while we're at work

I know it's not likely, but that's anxiety for you

we do have curtains and I'm hoping I'll have the energy this weekend to put them up

hope you get through it ok 😘

Are you my sister? Grange Hill was misleading and ITV lowbrow. Did you have to pay for your dead Granny's of kitchenware to take to uni as otherwise you might cut yourself with it

Congratulations @EllaEm87! 🥳

Are we doing ice lollies? Can confirm nobbly bobblys are still around, my kids have them often. I'm quite a fan of a twister myself if it's an ice lolly, from an ice cream van I quite like an oyster, that has the soft marshmallow but at the bottom 😋

Some vans here visit all year round. Way too scared to go to one specifically, I've no idea what Mr Whippy is code for....

I know they’re basic but miffed that calippo aren’t on the list! Can’t beat an orange one on a hot day and the drips are self contained!! Morrisons Rocket lollies are good too.

Had an email this week where my manager noted he’d ‘snarfed’ something alongside his lunch - gave me major ick vibes as it reminded me of JM 🤢.

Realise it’s super lazy put I simply bought two bags of ice from the supermarket - we had the space in the freezer and felt it would be quicker than the one ice cube tray we have. It’s a silicone but so hard to get the ice out it seems counter productive. Might look into those JL ice cube trays someone mentioned. My dad used to keep a Tupperware in the freezer with ice cubes - they since have a fancy plumbed in American style that does ice and crushed ice.

The bags are good, just use scissors, cut off what you need put the rest back.
