To me it’s so obvious she is bitter and jealous. Can’t believe she is encouraging donations to her PayPal.

She is unreasonably tearing down Florence, she knows she has no real claims. Feminist brutally tearing down another woman, nice one.

Yes they are similar but so are so many authors!!! Chidera is just pissed because Florence sold more copies. If there is genuine plagiarism, which can be detected with computer software, it can be called out. She’s not taking legal action as far as I know. FG is quiet because she’s confident she wrote her book and was inspired by Chidera

Anyone seen the reviews of her new book on Amazon? Doesn’t seem to be going down very well..
I predicted this would happen... a young, wealthy woman with no real writing experience other than creating twitter worthy 'feminist' slogans writes a fiction novel? People seem to forget that writing a book demands some degree of talent and perseverance, and in an ideal world only those with stories to tell rather than things to sell would write...

Florence again, not sharing my thoughts opinions... Probably because I'm straight cis woman, married with kids. She asked something along the lines of "what do you do even though you've been shamed for it?"
I said 'shaved my head', she didn't share it despite sharing LOADS of generic answers like "talking loudly", "growing armpit hair", "reading your book Florence". Then it dawned on me, Florence loves her mullet doesn't she? So again, she's only sharing answers that she agrees with or that reflect her opinions. That's how it seems anyway.
When she has it flicked back from her face she looks less Farrah Fawcett and more Beverly Goldberg!

I’ve followed Chidera on and off for years (I think she’s a highly toxic person) and it’s really really difficult to not see this as an opportunistic grab for money when her whole schtick a few years ago was about rinsing men for money and money only, she was always banging on about how she should be paid or have money spent on her if she were to give even a crumb of her attention to a man 🤷🏻‍♀️

Erm... have you read her book?? She has a whole section dedicated to not judging women on how good a feminist they are based on what they do. She specifically says dont judge other women for shaving/getting surgery etc.... Surprised to see someone agree with your take when thats what she speaks against in her book.
No, and I don’t plan to. Like i said I’m not a fan of hers.
Regardless what she wrote, I just don’t like the air of arrogance she has around the topic.
Granted, I stopped following ages ago and yes it’s quite possible she may have changed her attitude since then.
I wouldn’t take my opinion personally hon, I’m not here to bicker with other posters. You like her, I don’t, it’s not anything to get butthurt about.

Her new book looks exactly the same (design wise) as the previous. Her aesthetic is so outdated!

I think Chidera is being unreasonable. Although structural racism may play a part, i don’t believe this is all about race.

Okay I do enjoy Florence's content and I think she can be great, but I'm really not enjoying the holier than thou vibe shes started giving off. I don't know how to explain it properly but all these stories of her dancing and when she does her like "empowering" IGTVs or whatever, it just feels so fake like it's just her brand. I feel like al influencers get like this at some point where they just stop being authentic and it's so annoying
I agree influencers always get to this point it shocks me that their management doesn't do anything about it

I think the overall take away from this debacle is "don't hate the players, hate the game".

(Both are annoying AF though)

I don't understand how she has such a following. She's clearly just a very privileged person who has never really struggled and has always been cheered on and supported and lifted up from a young age, so she has a very inflated sense of the worth of her own opinion. It's coincided with brands/companies/publishers/whoever seeing an opportunity to mass-market her watered down, misjudged feminism (if thats even what I would call it...) and ✨ Self Care✨ mentality but still being stuck enough in their ways to only want a traditionally attractive, able bodied, slim, white woman to be the poster girl for it.
Completely agree!

if you want to do anything and be liked as a woman, you've got to be pretty, white, rich and marketable.
Well clearly that doesn't work either.

Whatever you are as a woman you won't be liked regardless

I used to adore Florence but maaaaan… the twerking and male hate is so intense. The whole “I wear X to repel men” etc. Flo not every bloke is a walking sleazeball. You say you’re all for equality, yet you do everything you can to degrade 1/2 the population constantly.
I don't think the true meaning of degrade ...
Women talking about how they don't like men is not "degrading" them... it's a natural response to the patriarchy in which men are in control of and benefit from.

Thank you for explaining, really appreciate it. So in your opinion who seems to be in the right?
I think the general consensus is that neither had an original idea 😅 but I suppose the slumflower really imploded / self destructed so she probably came off worse, with Florence mostly staying silent and taking an insta break

Yikes.

She has released a new chapter add on to her book. 96 pages and is charging £7.99!

Apparently it’s regarding how to deal with heartbreak as a feminist.

It just seems like her and her publishers are trying to monetise on the success of WDOYP.
