Wow. I’m shocked but at the same time not shocked. I bought her book and I read the part about her in high school falling out with her mates. there was just something about it that reminded me of some girls at my school and how for their myspace blog, they’d make out they have this loneliness and how different they were on the inside but it was all a bit fake and you knew them as the mean people in school 🤷🏼‍♀️
I’m about half way through the book- some parts I love, ngl.
I did find some parts of her book extremely useful and some parts really opened my eyes. I wish the book had existed when I was in a toxic relationship 3 years ago - I would’ve realised my worth and packed my bags up and dumped him sooner.

When they say don't send abuse. Do they appreciate they have a lot of followers and while some won't send abuse, there's a lot of others that will because all of this will stir them into action. That's intentional.
Exactly. Also she put "don't harass Munroe" in the smallest fucking font possible, right at the bottom of the post. Munroe is literally recovering from gender-affirming surgery, the last thing she needs rn is getting dragged online by some jumped-up moneygrabber. Chidera knows realistically that some of her following will go after Munroe and still decided it was appropriate to post that. "Protect black trans woman at all costs" my arse.

I woudl really love a thread for Aja Barber. She's put an ad up on her instagram but hasn't correctly labelled it an ad. yet again showing her hypocrisy. She set up a Patron to get paid for "the work" she does..... yet still accepts gifted items nad paid advertisement work without declaring it. (for anyone who doesn't know - and for Aja if you're reading here - any gifted items are considered payment in the UK and therefore need to have AD at the beginning of your caption!!!)
She is something else tbh. I can’t believe how dismissive she was of Jews legitimately not wanting to vote for corbyn due to the anti semitism within the party.

I find her so rude and her double standards are unbelievable to me.

Agreed, I’ve been trying to see two sides of the story but my goodness her last upload is really desperate. She talks about going it alone but would she actually take any advice if it wasn’t exactly what she wanted to hear about the whole situation?

Was this the episode of adulting she was on? I really enjoyed it and I can definitely relate to being within a group of girls considered “popular” but constantly being the odd one out and doing anything you can to please them, including singling out others to take the heat off yourself. I think she has (hopefully) genuinely acknowledged and apologised for her mistakes in the past and is a different person now, as she is still v young and I think most people change a massive amount between their teens and twenties when you realise your toxic behaviours. Saying that, even if she is a fake, the message she puts out is still amazing and defo will be very helpful to young girls struggling to find their voice/realise that others’ actions are wrong!
Totally agree, she is still so young and there is such a difference in every year of your life in my opinion. And yeah, the message she's putting out is great, but I really hope she doesn't get lost in reality under fame and worship and keeps evaluating and evolving herself.

Omg I've looked at her insta for the first time in ages and wow. What a vile person. That is the grid of a narcissist.
To be fair her whole shtick is the pink seventies aesthetic so that’s how she’s made her grid, but yeah she’s kind of privilege blended with I’m not like other girls which makes her insufferable 😣

Can they really sue for libel? Where did CE lie/make slanderous claims?
I'm afraid a solicitor or barrister would be the only person qualified to speak on the merits of a claim - but from my layperson's understanding, I'd imagine that Chidera's repeated statements that FG deliberately copied and profited off of her work would be fairly easy to disprove using legal standards of intellectual property violation. If Chidera's claims can be disproved to such a standard then FG/ possibly DB could seek financial damages and/ or an injunction preventing Chidera from continuing to make such claims, as a remedy for the emotional, health-related, reputational and/ or financial (delete as appropriate lol) damage caused by CE's statements.

Defamation is not my area of expertise by a long shot, but my understanding is that libel simply means defamation in written form, as opposed to slander which is verbal defamation.

Ultimately if such a claim arose it would be down to the court to decide whether CE's statements held any truth or whether they were defamatory in nature. But for anyone interested in the specifics of how the law quantifies libel, and the possible defences, this is an interesting read:

I agree with littlenoodle, though - I don't think Florence would sue, although I do think DB might possibly choose to.

Also, the way I see it shouldn't stuff like reparations be a structural solution rather than just...demanding and guilting individual people into giving you money lol.
Yes I honestly think Chidera is going too far!! To me she sounds anti-white... I’m a huge advocate for Black Lives Matter and fighting against the social injustice we see, but calling FG a rapist??! Saying all white people are racist?!

I know this subject is SO sensitive but I think the powers at play between the books are not black woman VS white woman.
it is one book vs another similar book

FGs book is correctly referenced and also includes a lot of unique first hand experiences from FG, there are many softwares to detect plagiarism and the two texts are similar but different enough.

Honestly, getting so annoyed at Chidera claiming she invented feminism and being anti-men?!!

As you all know, this is quite soft language for Chidera, but im sure I’m not the only one who thinks the way she is going about this is unwarranted and extreme?

Imagine all authors with similar books did this

They haven't terminated, though. They've asked her if she's willing to agree to terminate early. It's contingent on her agreeing to it - she actually has agency in this situation, but she's pretending she's been dropped bc that suits her narrative better.

See the screenshot. They asked her twice to provide her agreement to the change of termination date. Legally speaking, they can't change the date without her agreement unless they can prove she breached the contract - and they haven't shown signs of going down that route at all yet.
But why would she feel like she could stay when they're making her feel so uncomfortable? Come on, it is not that black and white, not for anyone and especially not for black women.

I quite liked the book but when I found out she was 21 I was a bit like ooooh because Not much life experience? Just my personal opinion. One thing I think though is all the people she constantly reposts of them saying the same things seems quite cult like?

I always say it but it enrages me that she disables comments and lives in an echo chamber.
Yes, of course LA the most fake place in the world!! The irony

Where are you getting these figures? Nobody os making 3k/4k a week from acreenahots. Also there is no way this drama is driving up Chidera's book sales in any significant way.
LoudBossyGross' gofundme. See the screenshot. It's public for all to see - just Google "loudbossygross gofundme". And she's taking donations through PayPal as well so the true figure will be even higher.

So hilarious how much she shouts at others for making mistakes and about how they must apologise if they dare disagree with her she is outed for doing multiple things VERY wrong and she says....nothing...nothing at all. What a loser.

What do people reckon are the chances that either FG or DB would sue Chidera for libel? I'm 50/50, on the one hand I feel like they would avoid it and just wait for the whole thing to die down so as not to be seen as wielding the law against a Black woman. But also I feel like Diving Bell especially would LOVE to have a judgment proving themselves to be in the right lol. Personally I think a libel case would have a far greater chance of success than an intellectual property claim.
I don't think Florence would bother. It's not worth it for her and would still be bad PR regardless of who's in the 'right', and wrong.

She wern't so nice in school but thats a whole nother story ;)
Ooooh I’ve just read her book and I did enjoy it, however I did a quick twitter search today and came across some tea. Some people she went to school with revealing things that she definitely doesn’t preach. Could be bollocks, who knows, but I thoroughly enjoyed her book and get she may not be up to everyone’s taste.

Munroe Bergdorf met up with Caitlyn Jenner, who was (I don’t know if still is) a massive trump supporter at the time so I wouldn’t necessarily look to her as always being a good judge of character. Don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of Munroe but she has hung around with problematic people. But maybe her and Chidera fell out cos I thought they were friends and that’s why she’s not said anything?

I love Floss!! Her book arrived today and I'm so excited to read it. I think she's actually a really great role model and I wish she'd been around when I was younger (even though we're like the same age but you know what I mean)
