I think she is brilliant, and there is something so refreshing and honest about her content at the minute. She just seems really comfortable and in control and it comes across on camera.

I’m obviously very sad for her and I wish her well but can I just say how refreshing it was for someone like her (YouTuber, influencer whatever she is) to share the news in such a calm, casual, normal way instead of a ‘sit down video’ with huge lights in her face and crocodile tears along with a misleading title, you get the point..... This is probably why I’ve always still liked Fleur, sure she’s had to figure out a way to make money on her social media (who wouldn’t? Insert sponsorships and gifted trips) but she seems to still have her dignity left and she obviously knows who she is behind this ‘perfect life’ on Instagram and I can’t say that about a lot of Youtubers so good for her! I applaud her.
Completely agree with this. I feel very sad for her. I like Fleur. Yes, she comes from a monied background, but she is down to earth and not at all affected, snobby or pretentious, unlike some. I wondered if all was well last year when she wrote a comment on instagram criticising someone who was asking when she was going to have another baby. Also agree with the person higher up this thread - why do people think they have the right to ask questions anyway about whether women are going to have another baby? So personal and potentially upsetting for anyone either trying to have a baby or having lost one. Poor Fleur. She has been through a lot with two miscarriages and also her Granny now in hospital with Covid. I hope things get better for her soon and she is being gentle with herself.

I did suspect this was what she was talking about in her instagram post, this must be very sad for her and Mike to go through. Particularly as she got pregnant with River very easily. I really admire that she isn't milking it for all it's worth, she's one of the few youtubers I can still watch as her content has gotten better over the years.

I feel very sorry for her having lost two pregnancies, but so glad she's not milking it like so many Youtubers have done. Hope her granny pulls through, too.

Obviously this is heartbreaking news but I ‘like’ [can’t think of a more appropriate word, sorry] how she shared it - casually, no dramatic set-up or buildup, very frank and raw and realistic. It just felt like she was chatting to us as friends. She’s honestly a breath of fresh air in a sea of bull fakery on YouTube.

I followed her for years but went off her around the time River was born and unfollowed her everywhere (I think the headless baby tit pissed me off more than anything else). I refollowed her at the start of lockdown and honestly she’s back up there as one of my favourite channels.

My heart goes out to her and her family, I hope her gran pulls through too 💕

I’ve always liked Fleur. I’ve also had a miscarriage recently and going for the scan alone was seriously depressing.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I've been there too. Going for the scan and hearing those words is something you never forget. ❤

I think this goes to show that a lot of the time, its not money and wealth that makes influencers unrelatabe or disliked, its just their personality.
Fleur and Mike both come from such huge wealth, but like someone said previously, they don't show off, they don't rub it in your face, but they don't try and hide it and be deceitful either.

The most recent vlog was so sad, and so so personal, it felt like it was one of my friends telling me. It was so stripped back and genuine.
I have had issues conceiving also, and it was nice for someone to talk about it without all the frills, she just said it for what it is.
I have always liked Fleur too and honestly have so much respect for her especially now.

My heart broke for her during the last vlog, I agree that she handled it far better than most youtubers and vloggers.
I think when River was dancing around with the wireless headphones she seemed a bit choked up and upset. Hopefully Fleur and Mike get their rainbow baby, River seems a happy little bean and I think they've done a great job with her.

I also thought that Mike and Fleur have such a natural affection with each other that was nice to see especially in times where their world must feel like chaos.

Totally agree she doesn't seem braggy at all.

I think that she seems more genuine because for her it wouldn't really matter if her influencer career ended as she's comfortable and wealthy without it. A lot of influencers seem to jump at any opportunity even if it doesn't suit their "brand" - maybe because they're scared work will dry up? But I don't actually follow that many influencers who are born and married into wealth like Fleur so I can't really compare her.

I am loving her content at the moment though. I went off her a long time ago and never thought I would see the day that I was joining in praising her!

Exactly and theres also the fact that Fleur was clearly struggling after the birth and juggling her new life with baby and work.
If she wanted to go on a trip, who cares? Especially if she had PND, it probably did her a world of good to get away for a week, clear her head and then come back and try to bond with baby if that was the case.
We don't know if she had PND, but she did do more than go 'on a trip', she was almost away more than she was at home at one point.
Let's see how she'll be after Covid-19. It's not as if she needs to work away from home to make ends meet....

I just started watching the latest vlog and I have to say she really is lovely. I love that when River said "mummy, stop" and Fleur "I have to come and see you" she actually turned the camera off and went to check on her daughter, instead of filming it. So many influencers either ignore their kids when they say that or will keep filming.

Gosh. Fleur is so graceful when talking about her miscarriages, no over the top production, just like talking with a friend. Poor her and Mike. I went off Fleur years ago but I am sucked back into her vlogs and Instagram. She seems so "real" compared to many other vloggers. I think the fact that she had a miscarriage in October but didn't allude to it at all on social media (to get attention) says a lot about her character. A really lovely person.

Good on her for mentioning George Floyd and Black Lives Matter - seems genuine.

She’s attentive to River and treats her with actual respect.

I love when they cook with her in the vlogs and let her mix the food and name the ingredients. And when the go to the greenhouse. Great Mum 👍🏻

Really don't like the working mum bashing. It's not just about making money. Work gives you a sense of purpose and a life outside of the home - this is essential for self-esteem, a sense of self and frankly a topic of discussion outside of baby and home. Socialisation at work is REALLY important. I've had to work from home since mid-March and I am so utterly lonely, I really under-estimated how much it would affect me.

So many women have kids, give up their lives and then become utter shells of people because their entire personality became built on being 'mum'. And then of course the children grow up, make friends and fly the nest and what are you left with?

I agree with all you say, but I don't necessarily think it's "working mum bashing" or "mum shaming" as anyone likes to say at criticism.

I haven't followed Fleur in ages and don't know how much she was away, so can't and won't comment on that, but esp for the very little ones it's incredibly important that their mummy is home (more so than daddy!) and being gone very often and/or long isn't very good (particularly overnight stays).

It's also fine to say that and say that about someone when it's perceived that way.

I felt so sad for her watching her vlog. As much as I don’t really enjoy the beauty content as much anymore I do think it’s refreshing to see she has stayed on brand. Her vlogs have always been some of my favourites (I love seeing how the other half live!) but her whole demeanour was heartbreaking in her latest vlog. She addressed it and shared an intensely personal trauma in such an effortless and genuine way that made it somehow sadder to see. You could tell how heartbroken she was. I think she is a fantastic mum from what we see and little river is clearly thriving (and such a beauty!). I applaud her for keeping her own identity after a child. As someone who is very much a career orientated mother myself it’s refreshing to see someone continue with their own life. Why shouldn’t she, she might not need the money but that doesn’t automatically mean she must stop working or stay home. I note no one has made any comment about mike working away long hours. Yes he comes home but he is out of the house for the vast majority of the day. Why should she be the one to give up her life? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyway, I really hope they manage to have their baby in the end. Kudos to her talking about it so soon afterwards too without as many have said the theatrics and poor me videos. Is it awful? Yes. Is ittragic? Yes. But a lights on and facing the camera using a clickbait title demeans the emotion for me.Fleur’s addressing was effortless and engaging without being dramatic. Personality is everything in this game and despite everything going on she has pretty much stuck to regular uploads which is commendable when you compare her to others such as Zoe Sugg or Gabriella Lindlay who have none of the responsibilities she has but can’t upload once a week.

sorry for the rambly long message!!

I was so impressed with the way Fleur handled it. She must be heartbroken, especially with her Nan in the hospital as well. I've just loved her vlogs and stories recently. I love her house, love River and the way Fleur and Mike are bringing her up, and of course I love the home and property. It just seems as if her natural personality has emerged when there is no need to push a product.
