Sick of her drip feeding content about why she's quitting and what she's doing next but I'm the clown that keeps watching.
Her part 4 has really wound me up.
1. Saying there's no rule book and how to speak or dress but surely common sense tells you all you need to know and uploading videos of you getting drunk on the internet does not instill people with confidence in you - obviously doctors SHOULD have social lives outside of work and have fun but the majority of theirs isn't visible to anyone googling their name.
2. Complaining she felt out of place in medical school as she was bleach blonde and not privately educated. I can completely empathise with feeling out of place but has she ever thought of the benefits that brings while in the hospital and bringing some wider representatives into the medical field?
Hugely agree, I’m in the medical field and doctors absolutely do have a lot of fun, drinking, partying and can be wild, but they just don’t share it online for everyone to see. The majority of them are like anyone else and love to have a good time. It’s just common sense really to keep some stuff private, I’m not going to judge people but A LOT of the general public will. People hold doctors to high standards because of the level of responsibility of their jobs. It’s really easy to only share the sensible parts publicly.
People complaining in the comments about this in other jobs like teaching make me roll my eyes too. Why must you share a bikini pic publicly for all to see, is that really such a terrible infringement of your human rights to not be able to do that? Also the bikini pic thing is also partly to protect yourself, men can be creepy af to women doctors and nurses. If those kind of creeps found a bikini photo of you online I can imagine they would be even worse, it’s really not uncommon for doctors and nurse to be sexually harrassed or assaulted at work by patients, relatives or even colleagues. Sure in an ideal world that wouldn’t be an issue but sadly it still is and it probably is a good idea to try to protect yourself a little where you can.
Also feeling out of place, plenty of doctors are pretty glamorous with lovely hair, nails, good style etc. she just needs to find her tribe, medicine has all types and there will be somewhere where she will fit in. Can definitely understand her feeling out of place with the class thing though, that is tough, but I would hope it would inspire her, we need more doctors from different backgrounds and different life experiences.
