I cant imagine how hard this is for you and your family. My issues are nothing in comparison and the stress and uncertainty is becoming so hard, your strength is inspiring. Its just crazy how rapidly things fell apart again here in Ohio. And everywhere else really.I’m so sorry. I’ve been wondering how you are faring. For patients like us, Covid is particularly hard. I would love to see 2 of my kids without glass between us. I can’t chance it. My PKD kid is waiting on a test from the doctor. His 2 at home tests were negative. I feel a huge sense of guilt as I have access, very limited at this point as my husband refuses to come home, to home tests. There is a country doctor in my village and she’s set up a drive through at her office trying to test as many people in our vicinity as they can. The local libraries are doing the same.
If anyone is following along my son’s friends saga, he is on high flow oxygen and has managed to stay out of ICU. He is so sick it’s scary. He came home to Ohio after testing positive in the Avondale area of Jacksonville which is where the Maassives are. He’s got Covid-19, not Delta or Omicron. His parents keep telling me how grateful they are for my husband. I appreciate them, but my husbands main focus right now are his patients. He can’t release any info concerning their son but can encourage the doctors and nurses to call the parents daily. There is a one visitor per patient across the board but there are other factors in most families prohibiting them from being there. I would give anything to hug all of my kids. Trying to keep my ID son away from his brother and sister here at home until the doctor tells us they are negative is hard. Supposedly tomorrow about noon we will know for sure. I’m so sorry, @Broken puzzle. I wish there was something I could do or say that would make it better.

We have only had to do them once with one of our children, because we are hermits and try not to go anywhere, the kids are all old enough (and have received) both Covid shots, along with my husband and myself (and I even already have the booster).
It was not easy having our oldest get one, so she could get surgery (due to protocols). I could not see them being able to get Abbie to cooperate to have it done. There is no waiver for testing either, even vaccinated, you still have to test, by what I am hearing…
Also, could you imagine if they had to quarantine with Abbie, 24/7 never leaving a small room for days to possibly weeks, if they contracted it, before coming home?
I would go nuts!!
Also, for someone that said she may not have Autism. It very well could be. Abbie is at the age of when Autism diagnoses were being thrown around like candy. Parents were going for basic check ups and being sent home with referrals for Autism diagnoses. When she was probably 5 years old, studies came out showing that psychologists and developmental specialists in the US were over diagnosing Autism at an alarming rate and that something needed to be done. This was when younger children were also starting to be diagnosed at a higher level too.
For parents with slightly older children 5-12 years old, it made it nearly impossible to get a diagnosis after the study came out. Doctors were starting to watch so much more heavily and some just stopped seeing new patients (at least in my area), so they didn’t increase the numbers.
My oldest child showed signs of autism at 7 years old and her diagnosis was developmental and learning delayed until then. At 7, we had to fight like crazy to get her diagnosed because the doctors were slowing down on diagnosing and she was more higher functioning.
But, Abbie does have what they would call a “infant Autism” diagnosis now. Meaning she was diagnosed at a very early age. There are some in the medical field, at least in my area, that are starting to look at this heavily. They believe that “infant diagnoses” need to be readdressed once a child reaches a certain age and to make sure the diagnosis still fits, especially when it comes to Autism because of the therapies and interventions now being done. I have talked with a few parents that their children have went back through ADOS testing between ages 10-14 years old recently and their children no longer qualify as being on the Autism Spectrum and some come out without a diagnosis at all (others have still had ADHD or other neuropsychological issues).
I totally believe that Abbie may no longer qualify for Autism diagnosis or it would be at least pushed back behind a ID diagnosis. Of course, that would mean Assa and Princess P would actually have to take her and ask for new neurological psych testing, which they would never do…
I agree with everything you just said. People making autism to be simply a few quirky traits or otherwise making light of it, and then you also have those saying that it is not a disability, but a different ability. I'm sorry, but no. Autism for a lot of people is quite disabling.I get if you suspect something... but then you go see a professional. But it isn't what any of the trend is about. It is all for attention and some weird clout chasing.

But the most recent dr visit by the Maasholes Ass said it was to confirm Abbie still had autism... so they could keep on her government programs. Ass was pretty bitter about it... like how dare he have to jump through hoops to keep getting the taxpayers money.

I know last year they had planned to travel to Canada over Isaiahs break. They had originally wanted to do it for Isaiahs graduation but Covid prevented it, so they thought the restrictions would be lifted by the new year, and they were not. They went to the ski lodge instead. I have been wondering if they had a RV trip to Canada planned this break. Who knows? But you know Asa is chomping at the bit to get his RV back on the road!

I don’t think anyone here would think you are rude. Those of us that are left from a year or two ago are really nice nonjudgmental people. We appreciate each other and other’s thoughts and opinions. I was afraid at first. I joined when Covid and the Boo Hoo video hit. Even when I admitted I was a former patreon, only one person jumped my case. That persons not here anymore. We haven’t had any big issues since.I hate the self diagnosing thing too, seen lots of kids on Tumblr who have a whole list of mental illness or just every mental illness going. I ask them if they have all mental illnesses, how do you function enough to be able to do things and type?
Also these people add ASD too to their long list of conditions.
But I would not be surprised if they tell you next she has CP or something like that. Just because I think they are a bit of a doctor shopper when it comes to Abbie. But that is just what I see.
My family have a history of autism, I have 2 cousins with autism. One I have mentioned is severe, and the other is in the middle of the spectrum. His 24 years old and has just lost his dad due to a heart attack.

We are ID NOS. There are a huge number of us who will never have an answer, and in my kids case he was 100% typical until almost age 5. Also, he is now 18 and we need to have yearly exams not only for insurance but also to keep him on the placement list where we ideally will want him to live. And I have no shame whatsoever about our plans. We are fortunate that his school, although private, is cost efficient enough to not have to rely on scholarship money. Since therapy is done primarily by a teaching hospital therapy students, private insurance covers it. I’m lucky and I know it. I’m more than grateful for not having to scam anyone to take care of my kid. I do just fine. That’s most of why those fat Maassive fuckwads piss me off so bad. Definitely is state dependent. For the waiver Abbie is on, we have one kinda like it and the recertification is every 3 years.
