Hello folks, I have been reading along but not commenting up until now....

This woman is misleading viewers by not only providing uniformed biased reviews of products which potentially will lead to her "darlings" parting with serious sums of hard earned cash but she is providing mis-information and she is filtering the comments section heavily to remove any balance/objections to what she is selling ! This is false advertising at it's finest.

On her "AT HOME SPA DAY + PLANNING OUR PANTRY" sponsored by Kenzzi IPL device of which Josie was selling IPL as pemanent hair removal - I saw another girl's comment, not negative, just making the point to clarify to the viewers the difference between IPL and Laser i.e. that IPL is not permanent however laser should be. Having had both, and being dark haired not like Josie's blonde, I thought I should share my experiences to give a balanced view.

So just out of curiosity I go to look this morning to see if anyone has commented/ liked the comment etc. Shock horror both my comment and the original comment (to which I had replied) have deleted!
She has micromanaged the comments section to create false support for this product - leaving comments that state IPL is permanent. It absolutely is not and is not advertised to be so. This woman is an absolute con-artist. I am genuinely blown away by this. Even to state, as she did, 180 quid is the equivalent of one session in a spa?! What the actual f*ck?!

She makes out like we should be grateful to watch her videos how strange.
It's a two way street. Make engaging interesting content and yeah, we'll be happy to watch and won't care about the occasional ad. Make videos that revolve around ads and not much else and not even be truthful about it, well, don't expect us to put up with it endlessly.

The whole you should be grateful schtick should also apply to her considering she's using her viewers to finance that house and her lifestyle and as a bargaining chip to beg for gifts.

Kicker is when they sell it on depop on top of it all
Influences are 21st century beggars! Very few are actually useful. Most are good for nothing.

Does anyone work for the ASA on this forum or at least have friends that do? If not you can get advice from youtube and write to watchdog. She shouldn't be deleting comments that give a balanced view on a product.

Hello from Australia
  • I first started watching because of the beautiful house. Being older I am not really the slightest bit interested in the little floaty frocks she keeps trying on.
  • Enjoy reading and participating in this forum - pleased to see others with the same opinions as me regarding all this consuming
  • Interested watching what she does to the house - sad too though to see she is changing colours, lights etc looks like she is going to spoil it
  • Amazed at how the life of a vlogger works - who could be bothered filming their whole life all day
  • Love seeing their walks thorough the countryside - thank goodness though that you can zoom through the vlogs
Confessions (don't hate me) ;-)
  • I actually don't mind her voiceovers for the dogs, I think they are cute - although I dislike all the kissing and mummy and carryon with the dogs
  • I actually dont mind Charlie too much I think he is just very very excited about the new house and garden
I LOVE Australia! And yes, the consuming is horrendious, especially when considering that they pretend being eco-friendly!

I am shocked about the deleted comment. Influencers really cater to sheep and promote consumerism with the excuse of saying "it's their job" . Using words like "invest" in a piece and " price per wear ". Makes me cringe. Hey, I won't be a hypocrite. I like buying things too, that's why I look at her videos but I do also donate money to causes and try to be conscious about intelligent spending as much as I can. I am not sure what I'm trying to say :) I think that we want transparency and although I like to follow her , I'm extremely disappointed about what I read here. I wonder if she reads these comments. I remember the Chanel bag unboxing. It was gifted yet she made it seem like she bought it. Later she clarified that but it was not honest to the viewers and gave me a weird vibe about her. I also do not remeber any giveaway. Only once was she decluttering her cosmetics and was putting staff in one bag saying that she gives some stuff to friends and family. Anyway, Josie, if you come here to read the comments since on your channel you delete opinions you don't like, make an effort to be honest to your viewers. In the long run you can only benefit from it.

True, it's not even a real job! YouTube will be outdated in a few years as Facebook is now. Then what!?

She's such a narcissist! Keeping all to herself or even ditching her cosmetic instead of giving it to someone who cannot really afford to buy expensive cosmetics! This is so disgusting!

Did anyone else notice her huge bags under her eyes? Must have been up worrying about the mortgage - she even listed the toothpaste on Amazon which you can get from tescos! Desperate!
Does that mean if I clicked on the Amazon affiliate link, but didn't buy the toothpaste, a cookie could be placed on my computer and she would get 10% of everything I spend on Amazon over the next 30 days??????

And that’s why we have sites like Tattle Life - because influencers constantly delete any opinions that are not in their favour .

I only hope more and more people will across these conversations and open their eyes .

yes exactly- that’s how it works !

to delete your cookies on iPhone go to settings and find Safari App - once you go in there you will see option highlighted in blue “Clear History and website data “click on it and it will clear all of the cookies . I do it on daily basis because I often click on those aff links just to see the ridiculous prices 😅

Yes, and she will be getting a commission on anything you purchase in the next 30 days or so.

Okay, I've had to come out of years of lurkdown to make an account because I'm really into property and it's like watching a car crash.
On an unrelated note, hypothetically if one was concerned about any historic building and knew the council area they could contact the planning officer of that council or even the planning enforcement team. Monitoring the planning portal would also allow you to keep an eye on things... Contacting Historic England direct is also an option... Hypothetically speaking of course.
Although to be honest, I doubt they will have the cash to do anything really damaging in the short term hopefully and I haven't read the details of their listing for restrictions etc

OMG YESS!! This is why I initially unfollowed her. She goes on and on about sustainability, that's why she's not just buying, she's "making an investment", but every piece is an investment to her and she buys 200 investments per week... Not how it works!

An investment is something you will wear for the next five or ten years regularly, like boots or a coat or a good pair of denim. Just because something is expensive does not mean it is an investment, especially when she says that about a severely overpriced dress that she will wear twice that summer and never again.

That investment thing made me so angry, lol.

I've just had the exact same thought! I just clicked on a random video for some background noise while I work, and she just made a point of priding herself on "buying less, but buying better" but in reality she is doing neither.

I really don't know how she can talk about sustainability or investing with a straight face.

In yesterday's vlog she complained again that it's often quite chilly in the house. She commented on the windows, which are only single glass and do not shut properly, and the chilly draft in the house, especially in the bathroom - haha! Yikes, there was someone too quick to buy a house with lots of disadvantages! She'll be surprised, when it'll get really cold in winter, then all her granny style cardigans and thermals won't be enough to keep her warm!

Yes, unless you delete your cookies before the purchase.

So I had a quick google and apparently the tracking duration for affiliate cookies can even be longer than 30 days. It depends on the cookie which in turn depends on the affiliate program used. Rstyle has 30 day cookies and youtubers, blggers etc earn at least 10% commission. There are other programs out there though that have different durations and commissions.

Guess what, you remeber her showing pics in one of the last vlogs using picmonkey? She can get a 50% commission on that!

Amazon has a 5% commission for affiliate referrals.

And unfortunately for her windows are something she'll need to get listed building consent for and is unlikely to get or if the does then they'll need to be wooden frames and in the same style which will cost a fortune.

If she is complaining about being cold now .. wait until cold , rainy autumn and winter days .
We are having exceptionally sunny , warm spring in England this year, if it’s still cold in the house then good luck to her !

She bought a house she can't afford. She'll be in for a nasty surprise the first time major work needs to be done by specialist tradesmen.

She is a business and she eco-washes with the best. The most eco-friendly thing people can do is buy less (except polyester, acrylic etc. that release a lot of nanoparticles into groundwater when washed) and just wear things to death. However, if people buy less she'd earn less and she certainly doesn't want that.
She doesn't wear anything frequently enough to have to bother with good quality. I saw a vlog by another influencer recently, who said they got a lot of wear out of a pair of shoes and they were really good cost per wear. Those were almost 1000 pound shoes and they'd only had them a couple of months. These people live so detached from reality it's sometimes really horrifying to watch. Wear what shoes you like but please don't tell me that 20+ pounds per wear is a bargain!

I actually use amazon affiliates and that’s not how it works. You only get up to 10% commission on the product linked. Where did you guys get this info otherwise?
