I think you have to be 13 to have a channelI have always found the tone of Mia’s videos a little odd so have never watched them but often see thumbnails that make me worry.
I’m a bit confused by YouTube’s Ts and Cs and age. I understands if you have a channel all content even 18+ is accessible by do you need to be 18 to have a channel?
I think she is indeed very bright, but sadly many jobs today, and nearly all high paying positions, require some qualification. It's so impressive that she has been able to get to that level of Spanish, especially from teaching herself. But if she ever wants a job in that field, then she'll struggle. In areas such as translation work etc., they are not going to hire someone based off that person saying "I am fluent in Spanish." They don't care if you don't have any qualifications to back your claim up. She would struggle a lot trying to get a job in the language field. Even to work in McDonald's you need GCSEs. It seems that her career goal is to just be a youtuber. I'm not really sure how long that will last. It's certainly not enough to sustain her for the rest of her working life.Ok so I’ve been rewatching some of mias videos. I’m liking them more again now tbh, I think it’s great she’s being allowed to experience the world e.g. skydiving, why not? With regards to education, she speaks well and grammatically correct, I’m sure she’s quite smart and who ever said she has to do GCSEs? She might not want to have a job requiring them. She’s fluent in Spanish which I’m sure will get her very far.
To add: she'd also have to study translations as well as specialising in a field. A lot of translator have a Master's degree in a different field.I think she is indeed very bright, but sadly many jobs today, and nearly all high paying positions, require some qualification. Pretty sure you need English and maths gcse at least. Yes speaking a language is an advantage but it’s an advantage and will only be taking into consideration if you have the basic qualificationsI agree to disagree. Flight attendant for example. Doesn’t need qualifications and an additional language is very useful. She doesn’t necessarily need the highest paying job- I’m sure she’s quite rich already
Almost all jobs require you to have some GCSEs at least. Except maybe cleaning jobs or bar work. So there is always a benefit to having some. YouTube is not going to be a forever career. I think these young kids especially look to other youtubers that made it and think that will be them. When in reality it rarely happens like that. YouTube is old now. People will start to get bored of it soon enough and move on to something new.I agree to disagree. Flight attendant for example. Doesn’t need qualifications and an additional language is very useful. I’m more worried about Sienna to be honest. She loves science and of course she’s only young but it could be a possible ambition of hers in the future to work in the science field. She’s also talked about space and wanting to be an astronaut. She will never be able to do either without proper qualifications. I really hope they put her in a proper school in the near future because she’s going to get a horrible dose of reality later on. Home school is good when it’s done properly which it’s not with them. It’s even more worrying when you realise youtube isn’t going to last forever, it’s already dying down compared to 2013-2016 youtube days. I really worry for her.Ok so I’ve been rewatching some of mias videos. I’m liking them more again now tbh, I think it’s great she’s being allowed to experience the world e.g. skydiving, why not? I agree it's all well and good the kids saying they are well travelled but what have they seen Dubai the swimming pool and the apple shop in the mallIt’s sad to think that they have not only missed out on getting a education in a school, but also the fun things that come along with it like school trips and friendships. I think that learning how to interact with other people is also really important, but they don’t seem to socialise with anyone outside their family
It makes me so mad that they claimed that the girls didn't need to go to school because they were being educated by the cultures of the world whilst they were travelling. What culture? I'm sorry but the only time this was true was when they lived in Gran Canaria. They've lived in England, the US and Dubai since then- not really much to be learned culturally is there? These children are simply not getting an education. We all saw how terrible Sienna's writing was in that video from a few months ago, and her doing 10 minutes a day of maths is a joke. I think "homeschooling" is just another part of their control- darren and georgie won't let them have their own friends, interact with anyone not in the family, or have their own ambitions.I agree it's all well and good the kids saying they are well travelled but what have they seen Dubai the swimming pool and the apple shop in the mall
fair enough, but hundreds of people do it and it’s becoming more and more common. Who ever says they won’t get GCSEs, they may have some other qualifications, doesn’t have to be the english version. It makes me so mad that they claimed that the girls didn't need to go to school because they were being educated by the cultures of the world whilst they were travelling. but mia is clearly not getting any qualifications, English or internationalFair enough,
