I’m gonna say no but that’s because she inevitably a Tory and is from a high social class background aka a posh girl with little to no problems getting a job or doing what she wants 🤣 but I’m very odd when it comes to find people good looking
lol i felt that - good looking but very privileged.
her story a few days ago on eve going into work to ‘sell her soul’ rubbed me the wrong way. like i get the whole ~fuck capitalism, we shouldn’t work our lives away~ vibe but some of us cant really afford your woke lifestyle when we can’t depend on our parents to support us 🤡

youtube just recommended me her trainee lawyer morning routine and I'm sad, that was probably the last video of hers I really enjoyed :(

"Ya gal's using the board-based waterfall approach of Kanban and time-blocking her workstream so I can engage in deep-work while monitoring the product roadmap." In reality, her day seemed to amount to: Asked the devs what they're doing, then told the client what the devs are doing.
completely agree, i've seen tons of people using the kanban system (although i didn't know it was called kanban, i've seen it on notion dashboards or on the trello app) and her swearing over time-blocking....girl it's 2022

the thing is that i believe she was looking forward to something like this for so long
when she was still a trainee solicitor she tweeted this:
Captura de Pantalla 2022-08-24 a las 10.44.28.png

i mean...why would a trainee solicitor need to learn how to code? i know she said she wasn't happy being a lawyer and switched careers (many months later) because she found out that her mind craved a more creative job (creative job=managing other people ehem)
it's like waaaaaaay before leaving law her mind was already set on other sectors

My understanding is that it gives you a leg up in terms of exit opportunities, by having that magic circle name on your CV. The workload and hours are extremely grinding - similar to how many people will start off at Big Four accountancy firms for the first few years and then seek opportunities elsewhere as it opens a lot of doors. Probably applies to investment banking too e.g with those working at Goldman Sachs.
not especially true - she's in commercial law theres not really any other opportunities she could step-up to other than US elite firms in London, at which the hours are worse- she's already pretty much at the top- the only doors it opens for her would be 'downwards' from magic circle like silver circle etc

Eve said she’s not restocking her cups, so this was just a launch to get rid of old stock to finally close down the company
I was surprised there wasn’t any new items really, it definitely looks like a way of getting rid of it.

I’m not sure I like her tone in recent stories about telling people what to do with pronouns in emails “challenging everyone” is a bit much. Just do it for yourself, stop pushing things on everyone in order to virtue signal.

Where I worked it wouldn’t have been allowed although there was a picture posted of her here, where her belly button was showing and that would have been against the dress code of my law firm as well, so who knows maybe Linklaters has more relaxed rules for this 🤷‍♀️
I remember when she posted that and it was so cringe. Can you imagine turning up to a law firm, dealing with clients etc. showing off your belly button like that. I wonder if she was spoken to about it as she has never seemed to share anything like that again?

To be honest I don't blame her for leaving. I'm just finishing my law degree and I can't imagine doing that, the LPC, a masters and being expected to work the hours they work in big firms. It would kill most people's enthusiasm for the job
Well done for knowing it's not for you, I know plenty of law grads who only figured that out further down the line! There seems to be lots of rose tinted glasses in Law Schools.

I do wonder if Eve would have been able to land her current TC with Linklaters if it wasn't for her YouTube channel, especially as she was essentially an outreach person at one point or another

I think her having this huge audience of current/future law students, plus a platform overall, probably gave her some more headway than a person who has similar grades/experience (outside of YT) to her
yeah I agree with you, her YT deffo helped. That’s why now I’m seeing a trend with law students trying to be “the next eve” but honestly it’s not as “unique” now, she’s lucky she started at the beginning when it wasn’t a big thing to mix law & social media (at least I didn’t see anyone do it to the extent she has in the UK YT world)

I used to love her content before but then she started getting on my nerves with her forced quirkiness and ads. Too bad she's not continuing with youtube tho, I don't know many entertaining law-based vloggers or youtubers. Maybe someone has some recommendations?

Thought this was funny. Someone posted this comment on Roll on Friday (a website where a lot of lawyers gossip). They’ve redacted the persons name but 100% seems to be talking about Eve.

I’m in the industry myself and I can’t think of anyone else it could be about. Plus they refer to a “managing associate” which is a known Linklaters position/title (99.9% of other firms use “Senior Associate”). Basically seems no one wants to work with her, may explain why she’s doing a random start up seat now.
I have to bring that up again, are you sure this is about Eve? I feel kinda bad for her, a lot of Law Students around the world look up to her and are inspired and motivated by her, although her content isn't perfect (no ones is), I don't think it's fair to say that she shouldn't have been hired?

I've watched Eve for over a year and always really liked her. I must say though that I'm disappointed with the flogging of merch, the hoodie and cup are really expensive and overpriced
This is exactly why I started this thread. I had thought she made really fun, interesting vlogs and she seemed really genuine. Turns out all she was doing was growing her followers in order to make a fast buck out of them. What really annoyed me was that she'd always made a thing of the fact that she wasn't flogging tat. Turns out she's as bad as the rest of them.

That last one was also sponsored so it’s not just like she was doing it for fun! Despite saying the profits would be donated surely that only means what she makes off the video and not her fee

It's a shame she doesn't do more vlogs as she is very confident on camera. I understand her not posting loads as I'm sure she's mega busy but for the one upload in a month to be a desk tour is a bit meh for me.

Why would she have to take it out for work? It’s not school
I don't know I'm not familiar with the culture at her workplace but seeing as so many people on this thread always talk about eve's professionalism (or potential lack thereof) I figured her firm could consider it "unprofessional"

I wonder if Eve and her gf will end up marrying
Doubtful. The way I see it Eve has just discovered that she is gay, she's found a girl that likes her back for now and is using the relationship as an opportunity to discover herself, what she likes in a girl etc. I don't doubt that she is probably in that early stage of a relationship when everything feels great and your partner is the most perfect person in the world etc. I also expect she's just properly discovered sex too (or at least sex she actually enjoys assuming she's shagged guy(s) before whilst she was confused about her sexuality) which will keep her interested for a while.

However, ultimately how many first relationships ever end up being the 'one' and the person you eventually marry? Very few and I wouldn't be surprised to see her move on from her current girlfriend once she has finished 'discovering' what it is she is actually looking for romantically in life.

for me, the title reminded me of those tumblr and aesthetic notes that girls take in school in which they write something like 💕🌟💫The Holocaust💫⭐💕

This is so bad, she became a caricature of herself, can’t believe this is real. I wrote before that the thumbnail looks clickbaity to me but I’m sure she was respectful with the topic…but I take that back, this is tragic 🥴
